Capitals' Nick Jensen: Could play Sunday
Jensen (undisclosed) was at morning skate Thursday, per Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press.
Jensen sat out the last two games of the season after he was stretchered off the ice Saturday versus Tampa Bay. He had a goal, 13 assists 123 blocked shots and 62 hits in 78 appearances this season. Look for Jensen to be a game-time decision Sunday in Game 1 versus the Rangers.

Capitals' Rasmus Sandin: Returns to practice Thursday
Sandin (upper body) practiced Friday, Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press reports.
Sandin could be back in the lineup in time for Game 1 versus the Rangers on Sunday, but his status is still up in the air. Sandin ended the season with three goals and 23 points in 68 games, missing the last five contests with the injury. Consider him day-to-day at this time. Look for Dylan McIlrath to exit the lineup, if Sandin plays Sunday.

Capitals' Alex Ovechkin: Scores in finale
Ovechkin scored a goal on his only shot in Tuesday's 2-1 win over Philadelphia.
Ovechkin opened the scoring late in the first period, deflecting a Dylan McIlrath shot past Samuel Ersson to put Washington ahead 1-0. It's the 31st goal of the year for Ovechkin, who scored five times in his final eight games of the regular season. The 38-year-old winger will conclude his 19th NHL campaign with 65 points (31 goals, 34 assists) across 79 games.

Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Two points in playoff-clinching win
Oshie tallied a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 2-1 victory over Philadelphia.
Oshie set up Alex Ovechkin's opening goal in the first period before depositing the eventual game-winner into an empty net in the third, clinching a 2-1 Capitals win and the final spot in the playoffs. The 37-year-old Oshie had gone 10 contests without a goal, logging four assists in that span. He has wrapped up the regular season with 12 goals and 25 points in 52 appearances.

Lindgren stopped 27 of 28 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Flyers.
Lindgren was sharp again Tuesday, holding the Flyers to a lone Erik Johnson goal in the second period en route to a playoff-clinching victory. The 30-year-old Lindgren now has three wins in four days to close out the regular season, allowing just three goals on 78 shots in that span. He'll wrap up the campaign with a 25-16-7 record, .911 save percentage and 2.67 GAA across 50 appearances.

Lindgren gets the starting nod on the second game of the Caps' season-ending back-to-back after stopping all 16 shots he faced versus Boston on Monday. Perhaps if the Minnesota native had faced a heavier workload, then the club would have decided to roll with Darcy Kuemper. In his last five outings, the 30-year-old Lindgren is 3-1-1 with a 1.81 GAA and a .931 save percentage. He figures to remain Washington's preferred choice between the pipes should the Capitals make the playoffs.

He scored on a high wrist shot from the right circle on a third-period power play to push the Capitalss ahead 3-2. Carlson's 150th NHL goal moved him past Kevin Hatcher for the most goals by a defender in franchise history. Carlson has nine markers and 51 points in 80 games this season.
