  • Flames' Connor Zary: Contributes helper

Zary posted an assist and three shots on goal in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Blackhawks.

The helper was Zary's first point in three games since he returned from an upper-body injury. He's been back in his usual spot alongside Nazem Kadri, so there's still potential for Zary to get his game on track late in the campaign. The 22-year-old rookie has 30 points, 71 shots on net and a plus-16 rating through 53 appearances.

  • Flames' Nazem Kadri: Adds helper in loss

Kadri notched an assist and four shots on goal in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Blackhawks.

Kadri had gone three games without a point before setting up MacKenzie Weegar's tally in the third period. The 33-year-old Kadri has had few slumps this season as one of the Flames' top forwards. He's produced 60 points, 234 shots on net, 54 hits, 39 PIM and an even plus-minus rating through 71 appearances.

  • Flames' MacKenzie Weegar: Lone Flames goal in loss

Weegar scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to Chicago.

Weegar ended Petr Mrazek's shutout bid 12:25 into the third period, burying a wrister through traffic to cut Calgary's deficit to 3-1. Weegar is up to 17 goals this season, ranked third behind Roman Josi and Cale Makar among defensemen. Overall, the 30-year-old blueliner has 41 points through 71 games this year, three shy of a career high.

  • Flames' Jacob Markstrom: Falls to Chicago

Markstrom allowed three goals on 27 shots in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Blackhawks.

Markstrom found himself in an early hole Tuesday, surrendering a pair of goals in the first period en route to the eventual 3-1 defeat. The 34-year-old netminder has dropped both of his two starts since returning from a five-game absence because of a lower-body injury, allowing six goals on 52 shots in that span. Overall, Markstrom's 22-19-2 with a .909 save percentage and a 2.70 GAA this season. He figures to split starting duties with Dustin Wolf down the stretch.

  • Flames' Jacob Markstrom: Starting in Chicago

Markstrom will guard the road goal Tuesday against the Blackhawks, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

Markstrom permitted three goals on 25 shots in Saturday's 4-2 loss to Vancouver. In 42 contests this campaign, he has earned a 22-18-2 record with a 2.69 GAA and a .909 save percentage. Chicago ranks 32nd in the league with 2.20 goals per game this season.

  • Flames' Daniil Miromanov: Pockets helper in loss

Miromanov notched a power-play assist and went minus-2 in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Sabres.

The helper was Miromanov's first in 12 contests between Vegas and Calgary this season. The 26-year-old defenseman continues to see time on the Flames' top power-play unit, and this was his first power-play point of the campaign. He's added 26 shots on net, 21 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating.

  • Flames' Yegor Sharangovich: Earns power-play helper

Sharangovich notched a power-play assist, two shots on goal and a minus-2 rating in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Sabres.

Sharangovich has been one of the Flames' top players with 12 points over 11 outings in March. He set up Jonathan Huberdeau on the lone tally in Sunday's loss. Sharangovich is up to 28 goals, 23 assists, 151 shots on net, 41 blocked shots and a minus-17 rating through 70 contests overall. He should continue to see middle-six usage down the stretch.

  • Flames' Dustin Wolf: Takes loss despite strong play

Wolf stopped 25 of 27 Buffalo shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss.

Wolf emerged with a .926 save percentage Sunday as two of Buffalo's four tallies came with an empty net. Wolf's .900 save percentage on the season isn't impressive, but he's played well recently, with a .926 save percentage or better in four of his last five games. While there might be some value in his recent results, Wolf has also had some stretches of rough play this season, and Jacob Markstrom figures to get the lion's share of starts now that the Swede has recovered from a lower-body injury, at least until the Flames are mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.

  • Flames' Jonathan Huberdeau: Snaps 13-game slump

Huberdeau scored Calgary's only goal during Sunday's 4-1 loss to Buffalo.

Just two seasons removed from a 30-goal, 115-point campaign, Huberdeau has only 10 goals and 44 points in 2023-24. It has been a tough year for the forward, who snapped a 13-game goal drought with Sunday's tally.

  • Flames' Dustin Wolf: Draws start Sunday

Wolf will be stationed between the pipes for Sunday's tilt with the Sabres, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports.

Wolf lost to Washington on March 18 in his last outing, coughing up four goals on 32 shots in the process. The rookie netminder is 3-4-1 with a 3.25 GAA and an .897 save percentage through 10 NHL appearances this season. He's gone 2-2-0 with a .902 save percentage over his last five outings.

  • Flames' Joni Jurmo: Inks ELC

Jurmo signed a two-year, entry-level deal with the Flames on Sunday.

Jurmo was a third-round pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft and was traded from Vancouver to Calgary in the Elias Lindholm deal earlier this season. Jurmo has five points through 46 games in the Finnish Elite League this season. He projects to be a more defensive blueliner and less interesting for fantasy purposes.

  • Flames' Brayden Pachal: Plucks apple Saturday

Pachal notched an assist in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Canucks.

Pachal set up Joel Hanley's tally late in the third period. The 24-year-old Pachal has a helper in three of the last five games while seeing consistent playing time on the Flames' third pairing. He's up to five points, 37 shots on net, 103 hits, 50 blocked shots, 43 PIM and a plus-3 rating over 37 appearances between Calgary and Vegas this season.

  • Flames' Kevin Rooney: Finds assist in loss

Rooney notched an assist, three shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Canucks.

Rooney helped out on a Rasmus Andersson tally in the second period. Since joining the Flames after the All-Star break, Rooney has seen consistent playing time as the fourth-line center. He's starting to come around on offense with a goal and an assist over his last two games, but it's unlikely to lead to a sustained scoring surge. The center is at three points, 18 shots on net, 38 hits, 19 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating through 20 appearances this season.

  • Flames' A.J. Greer: Provides two assists in loss

Greer notched two assists and went plus-2 in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Canucks.

Greer picked up his first points in three games since he returned from a broken foot. The 27-year-old continues to see fourth-line usage, giving him limited fantasy appeal. Greer has matched his career high with 12 points while adding 50 shots on net, 89 hits, 35 PIM and a minus-6 rating through 50 contests this season.

  • Flames' Joel Hanley: Gets first goal with new team

Hanley scored a goal in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Canucks.

Hanley's tally came with 19 seconds left in the game, making no impact on the result. The 32-year-old defenseman is at least getting more consistent playing time with the Flames than he did with the Stars, but his spot on the third pairing hardly makes him a fantasy option. For the season, he has five points, 14 shots on net, 46 hits, 43 blocked shots, 23 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 38 appearances.
