  • Flames' Joel Hanley: Out of favor again

Hanley was scratched for the fourth straight game in Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Stars.

Hanley played four straight games from Nov. 23-29, but he didn't record a point and added just two shots on net, two hits and four blocked shots. When he plays, he's in a third-pairing role. He's drawn in for just six of the Flames' first 28 games, with Jake Bean and Brayden Pachal being the most common duo to fill out the blue line this season. Hanley is not a fantasy option if he can't at least find consistent playing time.

  • Flames' Daniil Miromanov: Adds assist in loss

Miromanov produced an assist and two shots on goal in Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Stars.

Miromanov has helpers in consecutive games. He set up a Connor Zary tally in this contest, which tied the game at 2-2 late in the second period. Miromanov is up to six points, 32 shots on net, 33 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through 26 outings. He has fairly limited upside in a top-four role as more of a defensive presence, though he is holding a full-time spot in the lineup.

  • Flames' Andrei Kuzmenko: Draws into lineup, grabs apple

Kuzmenko notched an assist in Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Stars.

Kuzmenko had been scratched in the previous two games, but he checked back in with Ryan Lomberg (personal) away from the team. The helper was Kuzmenko's first point since Nov. 11 -- he was originally credited with an assist Nov. 25, but it was later taken away. The winger now has 10 points, 30 shots on net and a minus-5 rating through 26 outings, and it doesn't look like his place in the lineup is safe. Look for Kuzmenko to compete with Jakob Pelletier and Walker Duehr for playing time when the Flames have their full complement of forwards.

  • Flames' Nazem Kadri: Sends helper in loss

Kadri recorded an assist, three shots on goal, two blocked shots and a minus-2 rating in Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Stars.

Kadri continues to play fairly well with five points over his last five games. The center has added 18 shots on net and a minus-4 rating in that span. For the season, he has 17 points, 90 shots on net, 20 hits, 26 PIM and a minus-15 rating through 28 appearances. Calgary doesn't score a lot, so Kadri figures to have a rough plus-minus rating since he's playing in a large role.

  • Flames' Connor Zary: Bends twine in loss

Zary scored a goal on three shots in Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Stars.

Zary's tally tied the game at 2-2 late in the second period. He has a goal and an assist over his last two games to shake off a three-game slump. The 23-year-old center is up to six goals, 14 points, 57 shots on net and a minus-8 rating through 28 appearances. Zary is still working on consistency at the NHL level, but he's producing enough offense to be worth a look in deeper redraft formats while retaining plenty of value in keeper and dynasty leagues.

  • Flames' Jonathan Huberdeau: Scores early in loss

Huberdeau scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Stars.

A Dallas turnover went to Nazem Kadri, who set up Huberdeau's tally just one minute into the game. The goal extended Huberdeau's point streak to four games (two goals, three assists). He's now at 17 points, 46 shots on net, 23 blocked shots, 20 hits, 18 PIM and a minus-9 rating through 28 appearances. Huberdeau's showing a little consistency on offense, so he's worth a look in fantasy as long as this warm stretch lasts.

  • Flames' Dustin Wolf: Fades in third period

Wolf stopped 22 of 28 shots in Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Stars.

The game was tied at 2-2 after two periods, but the Stars made noise in the third as Wolf struggled on the road again. This was his third straight loss, and he's allowed 14 goals in that span. Wolf's struggles may open the door for Dan Vladar to get more playing time. For the year, Wolf is now 8-5-1 with a 2.84 GAA and a .909 save percentage, though he's had pretty extreme splits -- he has a 1.85 GAA and .942 save percentage in eight home games, and a 4.16 GAA and .862 save percentage over six road contests.

  • Flames' Dustin Wolf: Starting in Dallas

Wolf will guard the road cage Sunday against the Stars, Derek Wills of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

Wolf will be back in net Sunday after backing up Dan Vladar in Calgary's previous three games. The 23-year-old Wolf is 8-4-1 this season with a .918 save percentage and 2.60 GAA.

  • Flames' Ryan Lomberg: Unavailable Sunday

Lomberg (personal) did not travel with the Flames ahead of Sunday's matchup with Dallas, Derek Wills of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

Lomberg will miss Sunday's game while remaining in Calgary with his wife ahead of the birth of their child. Andrei Kuzmenko figures to step into a bottom-six role in Lomberg's absence.

  • Flames' Daniil Miromanov: Manages helper in overtime loss

Miromanov posted an assist and went plus-2 in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Blues.

Miromanov snapped a five-game point drought with the helper. The 27-year-old blueliner is up to five points over 25 appearances this season, primarily playing in a second-pairing role. He's added 30 shots on net, 32 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating. Miromanov is finally an NHL regular, but his offense is too limited to be useful in many fantasy formats, especially with a relative lack of non-scoring production.

  • Flames' Ryan Lomberg: Produces helper Thursday

Lomberg picked up an assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Blues.

Lomberg ended a 12-game point drought with the helper on Jakob Pelletier's first-period goal. The 29-year-old Lomberg has held down a steady fourth-line role as an energy player and physical presence. He's at just three assists with 49 hits, 22 PIM, 17 shots on net and a plus-4 rating over 27 appearances, production too low to be considered in most fantasy formats.

  • Flames' Connor Zary: Helps out on power play

Zary notched a power-play assist and three shots on goal in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Blues.

Zary had been held off the scoresheet in the previous three games. He snapped the slump by setting up a Matthew Coronato tally in the second period to tie the game at 2-2. The 23-year-old Zary has dropped down the lineup over the last couple of games, centering the third line instead of the top line. He's at 13 points (six on the power play), 54 shots on net and a minus-8 rating through 27 outings. The Flames have rarely settled on line combinations for long, so Zary could get a larger role again in the near future.

  • Flames' Jonathan Huberdeau: Snags helper in overtime loss

Huberdeau posted an assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Blues.

Huberdeau has two goals and four assists over his last eight contests. While not elite offense, it's at least a bit of consistency again for the winger, who is still playing in a top-six role. The 31-year-old is up to 16 points (five on the power play), 44 shots on net, 23 blocked shots, 20 hits, 18 PIM and a minus-8 rating over 27 appearances. There's not a lot of offense to go around in Calgary, so Huberdeau still has middling fantasy appeal.

  • Flames' Jakob Pelletier: Lights lamp in overtime loss

Pelletier scored a goal on four shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Blues.

Pelletier has played the last two games, replacing Justin Kirkland (knee) on the fourth line. Kirkland is out for the year, so Pelletier will get an extended audition to prove himself at the NHL level after failing to make the roster out of camp. The 23-year-old is still seeing just fourth-line minutes, so his fantasy appeal is minimal until he gets a better spot in the lineup. Prior to this season, Pelletier had 10 points over his first 37 NHL appearances.

  • Flames' Matthew Coronato: Finds twine on power play

Coronato scored a power-play goal on three shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Blues.

Coronato has struggled a bit to adapt to steady top-six usage. He snapped a six-game goal drought Thursday, a span in which he had just one assist. He has four points over his last eight outings, with three of those points coming on the power play. The Flames have lost both Anthony Mantha and Justin Kirkland to ACL injuries, so Coronato's spot in the lineup looks secure now. The 22-year-old is at seven goals, four assists, 45 shots on net and a plus-9 rating over 22 appearances.

  • Flames' MacKenzie Weegar: Earns two points in overtime loss

Weegar scored a goal on three shots, dished a power-play assist and added four hits in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Blues.

The goal was Weegar's first since Oct. 22 versus the Penguins. He's been otherwise decent on offense, picking up seven helpers over his last eight outings. The 30-year-old blueliner has 16 points (eight on the power play), 67 shots on net, 68 hits, 72 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through 27 contests. He's slightly behind the pace that saw him rack up a career-high 52 points in 82 outings in 2023-24, but he's still among the best all-around fantasy blueliners in the league.

  • Flames' Dan Vladar: Stumbles to overtime loss

Vladar allowed four goals on 24 shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Blues.

Vladar gave up a pair of goals in the first period, and the Flames were never able to give him a lead to protect. The 27-year-old has now lost three of his last five outings (2-1-2), allowing 15 goals in that span, though one of those wins was a shutout over the Blue Jackets on Tuesday. For the season, he's at a 5-5-4 record with a 2.74 GAA and a .900 save percentage over 14 games. Don't be surprised to see Dustin Wolf get the starting nod in a tough road matchup Sunday versus the Stars.
