  • Flames' Artyom Grushnikov: Included in return for Tanev

Grushnikov, a 2024 second-round pick and a conditional 2026 third-round pick, were traded from the Stars to the Flames on Wednesday in exchange for Chris Tanev, Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic reports.

Grushnikov is in his first North American season, logging five points over 44 games with AHL Texas this season. The 20-year-old, left-shot defenseman had 29 points over 121 regular-season games and another seven points in 25 playoff outings with OHL Hamilton over the previous two seasons. Grushnikov's long-term fantasy outlook isn't great -- he's a stay-at-home defenseman and hasn't developed a sudden scoring knack during his development.

  • Flames' Andrei Kuzmenko: Practices Wednesday

Kuzmenko (illness) participated in Wednesday's practice, but he didn't have his own spot in line rushes.

Kuzmenko instead alternated with Jakob Pelletier on the fourth line, which suggests Kuzmenko might not be quite ready to return. However, the Flames won't play again until Saturday versus Pittsburgh, so there is still time for the 28-year-old forward to get back to 100 percent before that contest. If Kuzmenko is available Saturday, then Pelletier might be a healthy scratch.

  • Flames' Dryden Hunt: Registers assist Tuesday

Hunt notched an assist and two hits in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Kings.

Hunt has a point in each of the last two contests after going scoreless in his first seven appearances. He's gotten a chance to play with Jonathan Huberdeau and Yegor Sharangovich at even strength, though Hunt's usage remains more in line with a bottom-six forward. In addition to his two points, the 28-year-old has 19 shots on net and 26 hits through nine outings.

  • Flames' Jakob Pelletier: Notches assist

Pelletier recorded an assist and three shots on goal in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Kings.

Pelletier has two assists over six contests this season. He's seen limited ice time for much of his action so far, playing on the fourth line after missing a large portion of the campaign due to a shoulder injury. The 22-year-old could move up the lineup if the Flames struggle or move other wingers out at the trade deadline.

  • Flames' Noah Hanifin: Slides helper in win

Hanifin notched an assist, two shots on goal and a plus-3 rating in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Kings.

Hanifin hasn't let the trade rumors distract him on the ice -- he has nine points and a plus-7 rating through 10 games in February. The defenseman is up to 34 points, 118 shots on net, 86 blocked shots and a plus-17 rating through 59 appearances this season. Hanifin should continue to see a top-four role, whether that's in Calgary or somewhere else.

  • Flames' Jonathan Huberdeau: Nabs helper in win

Huberdeau posted an assist and five shots on goal in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Kings.

Huberdeau has five points over his last four games, and he's up to three goals and eight assists through 10 February outings. The 30-year-old has made significant progress compared to December, when he had one point in 13 games. That bad month has spoiled his season-long production -- nine goals, 28 assists over 58 appearances -- but fantasy managers who bought in early during his resurgence have benefited from his steady offense in 2024.

  • Flames' Andrew Mangiapane: Lights lamp Tuesday

Mangiapane scored a goal on four shots in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Kings.

Mangiapane gave the Flames a quick response to Phillip Danault's opening tally for the Kings. The goal was Mangiapane's fourth point over the last four games. The winger hasn't had a ton of consistency in 2023-24, but he's looked best alongside Mikael Backlund and Blake Coleman. Mangiapane is at 33 points, 101 shots on net, 67 hits, 43 PIM and a plus-12 rating through 58 appearances.

  • Flames' Mikael Backlund: Deposits empty-netter

Backlund scored an empty-net goal on four shots and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Kings.

Backlund earned his fourth point in the last six games with his empty-netter. He's gone 16 contests without a multi-point effort, picking up six points and 47 shots on net in that span. The 34-year-old's ice time has remained fairly steady in February despite the trade of Elias Lindholm to the Canucks. Backlund has 30 points, 165 shots on net, 51 hits and a plus-11 rating over 59 appearances and should function as a top-six forward for the remainder of the campaign.

  • Flames' Blake Coleman: Tallies in Tuesday's win

Coleman scored a goal on six shots, went plus-2 and blocked three shots in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Kings.

Coleman gave the Flames their first lead with a goal at 13:52 of the second period. That's his third goal in the last four games. The 32-year-old seems to be heating up again after a stretch of a modest five points in 10 outings from Jan. 20 to Feb. 17. Coleman has 24 goals, 46 points, 140 shots on net, 90 hits, 59 PIM and a plus-25 rating through 59 contests overall, giving him a reasonably good chance of achieving a 30-goal, 60-point campaign.

  • Flames' Yegor Sharangovich: Tallies in win

Sharangovich scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 4-2 victory over Los Angeles.

Sharangovich put the Flames ahead 3-2 midway through the third period, beating Cam Talbot with a long-range wrister, the eventual game-winner in Calgary's 4-2 win. It's the first goal in 11 games for the 25-year-old Sharangovich, who picked up four assists in that span. He's up to 21 goals and 39 points through 59 games in his debut season with the Flames.

  • Flames' Chris Tanev: Two helpers Tuesday

Tanev recorded a pair of assists in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Kings.

Tanev set up Blake Coleman's tally in the second period before grabbing a second assist on Mikael Backlund's empty-netter in the third. It's just the second multi-point game of the season for Tanev, who'd gone scoreless in four games since he recorded a pair of helpers Feb. 15 against San Jose. While Tanev won't contribute much offensively, he's been a solid defensive presence on Calgary's top pairing. He's up to 14 points (one goal, 13 assists) with 171 blocked shots and a plus-16 rating through 56 games this year.

  • Flames' Jacob Markstrom: Stops 21 in win

Markstrom stopped 21 of 23 shots in Tuesday's 4-2 victory over Los Angeles.

Markstrom was solid Tuesday, holding the Kings to a pair of second-period goals en route to his third straight win. The 34-year-old Markstrom's now won seven of his last nine outings, sporting a .931 save percentage in that span. He improves to 20-15-2 on the season with a .914 save percentage and 2.56 GAA. The Flames are back in action at home Saturday for a matchup with the Penguins.

  • Flames' Andrei Kuzmenko: Still sidelined Tuesday

Kuzmenko remains under the weather and won't play against the Kings on Tuesday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

Since joining the Flames, Kuzmenko has found his offensive game, registering three goals and one assist in eight outings with his new club. The 28-year-old winger will have to watch from the press box for at least one more game but should hopefully be healthy enough to rejoin the lineup against the Penguins on Saturday.

  • Flames' Jacob Markstrom: Facing Kings

Markstrom will patrol the home crease Tuesday against the Kings, according to Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan.

Markstrom has won his past two outings, stopping 60 of 65 shots during that span. Over 36 games played this campaign, he has earned a 19-15-2 record with two shutouts, a 2.58 GAA and a .914 save percentage. The Kings sit 19th in the league this season with 3.05 goals per contest.

  • Flames' Andrei Kuzmenko: Practices Monday

Kuzmenko (illness) took part in Monday's practice, according to Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan.

Kuzmenko was unavailable for Saturday's 6-3 win over Edmonton but could be an option to return Tuesday against the Kings. He worked on the top power-play unit despite skating as an extra during Monday's session, so there is also a possibility that he could be scratched for Tuesday's contest. Kuzmenko has 11 goals and 25 points in 51 games this season between Calgary and Vancouver.

  • Flames' Dennis Gilbert: Stuck in press box

Gilbert has played just three times in the Flames' last 13 games.

Gilbert was a regular on the third pairing before suffering a concussion in January. He played three of four games after getting cleared to return, but he's been a scratch for all of February with waiver claim Brayden Pachal and Oliver Kylington (personal) comprising the third pairing. Gilbert has seven points, 53 hits, 47 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating through 31 appearances. If the Flames trade Chris Tanev and Noah Hanifin, there may be room for Gilbert and fellow scratch Jordan Oesterle in the lineup down the stretch.

  • Flames' Jordan Oesterle: Waiting for opportunity

Oesterle has been a healthy scratch for 10 straight games.

Oesterle gained traction in the Flames' lineup in January, but that role disappeared with the season debut of Oliver Kylington and the Flames' waiver claim on Brayden Pachal. For now, Oesterle is a healthy scratch, but he should get a chance to play if Chris Tanev or Noah Hanifin get traded away. Oesterle has two assists, 18 shots on net, 32 blocked shots and 20 hits through 21 outings.
