Ferraro has earned three helpers over seven contests since the Olympic break, but his last goal was Jan. 19 versus the Panthers. The veteran defenseman is a pending unrestricted free agent this summer, but the Sharks didn't trade him away before the deadline, so they may attempt to re-sign him to be a steady shutdown blueliner for a young team. The 27-year-old is at 15 points, 72 shots on net, 105 hits, 117 blocked shots, 31 PIM and an even plus-minus rating over 62 appearances this season.

Sharks' Kiefer Sherwood: Scores in loss to Sabres
Sherwood scored a goal, added five hits and went minus-3 in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Sabres.
Sherwood has picked up the pace with three goals and an assist over his last four contests. The winger is up to 20 goals, seven assists, 129 shots on net, 254 hits and a minus-13 rating across 52 appearances between the Sharks and the Canucks. Sherwood has played around a 40-point pace over the last two seasons while adding elite physical play.

Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Can't stop herd of buffalo
Askarov made 20 saves in a 6-3 loss to the Sabres on Tuesday. He allowed five goals.
Honestly, there are few teams that have been able to stop the Buffalo herd, and the Sharks were outmatched at times. San Jose is one point behind the Seattle Kraken for the second wild-card spot in the West. Since Feb. 2, Askarov is 2-4-1 with 26 goals allowed (.869 save percentage). Overall, he continues to develop, putting up a 19-17-3 record with a 3.56 GAA and .886 save percentage.

Sharks' Macklin Celebrini: Joins Crosby and Gretzky with mark
Celebrini scored for the fourth straight game in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Sabres.
He has four goals in that span and nine points (five goals, four assists) on his current six-game scoring streak. Celebrini's goal Tuesday gave him 90 points (33 goals, 57 assists) this season. He did it in 62 games. Celebrini joins some epic company on the list of teenagers who reach the 90-point mark quickly. He needed the third-fewest games in NHL history behind Sidney Crosby (54 games in 2006-07) and Wayne Gretzky (56 games in 1979-80) to hit that height.

Sharks' Alexander Wennberg: Best season in close to decade
Wennberg had a goal and an assist in a 6-3 loss to Buffalo on Tuesday.
His goal came on the power play. It cut the score to 5-3 early in the third frame. Wennberg is having his best offensive season since he set a career mark with 59 points back in 2016-17. He has 13 goals and 28 assists in 62 games. Tuesday's game was Wennberg's first multi-point game since Jan. 6.

Leddy has been recalled from AHL San Jose by the Sharks, the team announced Sunday.
Leddy hasn't seen a ton of action this year, playing just 19 games at the NHL level and one at the AHL level. The 34-year-old has recorded four points and a minus-9 rating in his 19 NHL games with the Sharks. He'll likely just fill a depth role in this NHL stint, barring an injury to a top-six defenseman.

Celebrini has four goals and four assists during his five-game point streak. He's scored in each of the last three contests. Askarov stopped 32 of 34 shots in Saturday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Islanders.
Askarov put in a good effort, but Bo Horvat's goal 4:20 into overtime gave the Sharks a loss. Askarov has allowed 14 goals over four games since the Olympic break, going 2-1-1 in those contests. For the season, the 23-year-old netminder is at a 19-16-3 record with a 3.52 GAA and an .887 save percentage in 39 starts. A busy part of the schedule has seen the Sharks switch to alternating goalies, which may be best for Askarov down the stretch as he has struggled during stretches with a heavier workload. The Sharks begin a road trip in Buffalo on Tuesday.

Sahlin Wallenius has had a fairly quiet season with 10 points in 29 outings.
