Sharks' Kaapo Kahkonen: Winless in 10 straight starts
Kahkonen surrendered four goals on 29 shots in a 5-3 loss to the Flames on Saturday.
It was a close contest -- the score was 3-3 until the 5:45 mark of the third when Nazem Kadri notched his 23rd of the season. Kahkonen continues to search for his ninth win this season. His last win came Feb. 12, and since then, he has gone 0-8-2 in 10 starts. Kahkonen has allowed four or more goals in his last six starts (31 allowed).

Sharks' Erik Karlsson: Keeps stacking up assists
Karlsson delivered two assists in a 5-3 loss to Calgary on Saturday.
Karlsson simply keeps stacking up the points, improving his case for the Norris trophy this season. He's on a three-game, five-point streak (two goals, three assists), and has the first 90-point season of his career (22 goals, 68 helpers). Karlsson is the NHL's third-best assist man this season, behind only Connor McDavid (78) and Nikita Kucherov (74). He's 21 points ahead of the second-highest scoring defender (Josh Morrissey; 69 points).

Sharks' Henry Thrun: Inks entry-level deal
Thrun signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Sharks on Saturday.
Thrun will join the Sharks immediately after completing his third season with Harvard University. The 22-year-old blueliner collected seven goals and 33 points in 33 games during the 2022-23 campaign. Thrun was originally selected by Anaheim in the fourth round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.

Sharks' Nikolai Knyzhov: Back in AHL
Knyzhov was reassigned to AHL San Jose on Saturday,
Knyzhov played the last nine games with the Sharks after being recalled from the minors March 5. He spent all of the 2021-22 season on the sidelines due to a groin injury, missed the first half of this season after offseason Achilles surgery. He will get in some much needed playing time in the AHL.

Johnsson was thought to be day-to-day after getting hurt in Edmonton on Monday, but coach David Quinn said Saturday that Johnsson will be out a while. Johnsson has three assists in 11 games with the Sharks after starting out the campaign with New Jersey, where he was pointless in two games.

Pouliot had two assists in seven games with the Sharks before his demotion, with both occurring March 14 versus Columbus. Pouliot was selected eighth overall in the 2012 Draft by Pittsburgh.

Karlsson's fantastic season has seen him produce three goals and eight assists in March -- and it's strange to think that's somewhat of a down month for him. The 32-year-old blueliner is up to 88 points, 193 shots on net, 74 blocked shots and a minus-16 rating through 72 contests overall. He'll need 10 points over the Sharks' last 12 games to earn a 100-point season.

Agozzino scored a shorthanded goal on three shots, logged five hits and blocked two shots in Thursday's 7-2 loss to the Canucks.
Agozzino is making the most of his time in the NHL, with two points through two contests this season. He scored in the third period Thursday to briefly cut the deficit to 4-2. The 32-year-old forward has never had more than three points in a season, and his tally Thursday was his first career shorthanded point. He saw time on the Logan Couture line at even strength, so it's possible Agozzino could be an ultra-budget option in DFS if he can keep that place in the lineup.

Hertl reached the 20-goal milestone for the fifth time in his career, though he'd need an impressive run to match the 30 he scored last season. Reimer has lost his last four outings, giving up 18 goals over that span. While his team's defense can usually take some of the blame, this was simply a poor all-around effort for the Sharks, Reimer included. The 35-year-old netminder dropped to 10-18-8 with a 3.40 GAA and an .891 save percentage through 37 appearances. The Sharks' next game is Saturday in Calgary.
