Devils' Josh Filmon: Signs entry-level contract
Filmon signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Devils on Friday.
Filmon was selected in the sixth round, 166th overall, in 2022. He turned into a scorer this season, finding the back of the net 47 times in 64 games for the WHL's Swift Current after managing only 23 tallies in 67 games in his draft year. He will sign an amateur tryout agreement with AHL Utica for the remainder of the 2022-23 campaign -- his entry-level contract with New Jersey kicks in next season.

Devils' Timo Meier: Sets career mark in goals
Meier scored the game-winning goal Thursday in a 2-1 victory over the Rangers.
It was Meier's 36th goal of the season, an NHL career high, in his 71st game. It came from the slot on a second-period power play. Meier has five goals and two assists in 14 games with the Devils.

Devils' Vitek Vanecek: Continues to dominate Rangers
Vanecek made 24 saves in a 2-1 victory over the Rangers on Thursday.
He was especially sharp in the third, making 10 saves including a right-pad stop on Vincent Trocheck at the left post at 8:11 of the period. Vanecek (30-10-4) became the first Devils goalie to win 30 games since Martin Brodeur did it in 2011-12. Perhaps more importantly, Vanecek improved to 7-3-1 in 11 games against the Rangers, a possible first-round playoff opponent for the Devils.

Devils' Vitek Vanecek: Guarding cage versus Rangers
Vanecek will protect the home goal versus the Rangers on Thursday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
Vanecek has hit a skid, allowing seven goals on 82 shots while losing his last three appearances. The 27-year-old netminder will look to bounce back against the Rangers, a team he beat with 31 saves on 34 shots Jan. 7.

Devils' Nathan Bastian: Won't return Thursday
Bastian (upper body) will miss Thursday's game against the Rangers, Mike Morreale of NHL.com reports.
It will be the Devils' ninth straight game without Bastian, but he is making progress, according to coach Lindy Ruff. The 25-year-old forward has six goals and 12 points in 39 appearances this season. When Bastian is ready to return, he will likely serve in a bottom-six role.

Devils' Vitek Vanecek: Surrenders three goals to Islanders
Vanecek kicked out 31 of 34 shots in a 5-1 loss to the Islanders on Monday.
Vanecek surrendered a goal in each period of the contest. The final two New York markers were scored on an empty net. Vanecek dropped to 29-10-4 with a 2.50 GAA and a .909 save percentage in 47 outings this season. He's now lost his last three appearances, though the 27-year-old's held the competition to seven goals on 82 shots in that span.

Devils' Erik Haula: Ends nine-game scoring drought
Haula scored a shorthanded goal in the Devils' 5-1 loss to the Islanders on Monday.
Haula brought his nine-game scoring drought to an end. His recent slump was an abrupt end to his hot streak from March 1-9 in which he provided three goals and seven points over five outings. Through 74 appearances this season, Haula has nine goals and 34 points. He probably won't catch up to his 2021-22 finish of 18 markers and 44 points.

Devils' Vitek Vanecek: Draws start Monday
Vanecek will be stationed between the pipes for Monday's road game against the Islanders, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
Vanecek has dropped two straight games despite stopping a combined 44 of 48 shots in the process. The 27-year-old is 29-9-4 with a 2.49 GAA and a .909 save percentage this season. He coughed up four goals on 17 shots in his lone appearance against the Islanders this season.

Devils' Ondrej Palat: Delivers clutch helper
Palat registered an assist in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Senators.
Palat snapped a nine-game point drought with the secondary helper, which was clutch as it led to the game-winning goal. A groin injury that required surgery has limited Palat to 41 games this season, but with eight goals, 12 assists and a plus-8 rating, the veteran winger is seemingly doing enough to keep him from falling off the map in deep leagues.

Devils' John Marino: Supplies helper in home win
Marino posted an assist in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Senators.
Marino occasionally shows up in the attacking zone -- as evidenced by his posting four goals and 10 assists through 56 games -- but he's primarily regarded as a stay-at-home blueliner who limits mistakes. In addition to his plus-14 rating, Marino has collected 41 hits and 72 blocked shots for a Devils team that will see the postseason.

Schmid has posted a record of 8-5-2 this season with a 2.24 GAA and a .918 save percentage in 17 appearances for the Devils. Mackenzie Blackwood, who returned to the lineup Saturday from a lower-body injury, stopped 25 shots in a 5-3 win over Ottawa.

Devils' Mackenzie Blackwood: Gets win in return from injury
Blackwood (lower body) turned aside 25 of 28 shots in a 5-3 win over the Senators.
Blackwood made his first start since Feb. 19 due to the injury. Before he got hurt, Blackwood was doing fairly well with a 2.35 GAA and a .926 save percentage over his last three appearances. The 26-year-old didn't have an ideal showing Saturday -- in particular, he surrendered two goals on nine shots in the second period -- but the Devils helped him out by supplying plenty of offensive support to push his record up to 9-5-2 in 2022-23. The goaltender also has a 3.04 GAA and a .900 save percentage in 18 outings this season.

Devils' Dougie Hamilton: Provides game-winning marker
Hamilton netted the game-winning goal in a 5-3 victory over Ottawa on Saturday.
Hamilton has been a fairly consistent offensive contributor lately, providing at least a point in six of his last nine outings. His last scoring drought of more than two straight contests took place from Nov. 28-Dec. 3, so it's been a while since Hamilton has suffered anything resembling a noteworthy slump. The 29-year-old has 19 goals and 68 points in 73 appearances this season.

Devils' Dawson Mercer: Scores in win over Ottawa
Mercer found the back of the net in a 5-3 win over Ottawa on Saturday.
Mercer scored early in the second period to extend the Devils' lead to 3-1. He has 23 goals and 51 points in 73 contests this season. Although Mercer has been productive offensively overall in 2022-23, the 21-year-old wasn't able to score a goal and had just one assist over his previous seven outings.
