  • Avalanche's Artturi Lehkonen: Scores in playoff opener

Lehkonen scored a goal on two shots and added two hits in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Kings in Game 1.

Lehkonen opened the scoring at 15:29 of the second period to break the deadlock in a tightly defended game. The winger opened the postseason on the first line, but the Avalanche could mix and match around the top six at times. Lehkonen is no stranger to the playoffs, having won the Stanley Cup in 2022 with the Avalanche. This is his eighth year in the postseason -- over his first seven playoff runs, he earned 26 goals and 21 assists in 78 contests.

  • Avalanche's Logan O'Connor: Surprise Game 1 hero

O'Connor scored the game-winning goal Sunday during the Avalanche's 2-1 victory over the Kings in Game 1 of their first-round series.

The 29-year-old winger missed most of the regular season after undergoing hip surgery last June, and he didn't score a goal while adding just two assists over 13 games once he finally made his 2025-26 debut in late March. In fact, O'Connor's last tally was also a playoff game-winner, as he opened the scoring in a 4-0 win over the Stars in Game 4 of the first round last year. O'Connor produced a surprising two goals and six points in that seven-game series before Colorado's elimination, and he may be gearing up to provide some valuable secondary scoring once again despite his bottom-six role.

  • Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Sharp in Game 1 win

Wedgewood turned aside 24 of 25 shots Sunday during the Avalanche's 2-1 win over the Kings in Game 1 of their first-round series.

In his first career playoff start, Wedgewood nearly produced a shutout before Artemi Panarin got a puck past him on a Los Angeles power play with less than three minutes left in the third period. The 33-year-old netminder hasn't given up more than three goals in an outing since the Olympic break, and he's been all but unbeatable in April, going 5-1-0 with a microscopic 0.73 GAA and .967 save percentage. Wedgewood should be back in the crease for Game 2 on Tuesday.

  • Avalanche's Isak Posch: Recalled from AHL

Posch was summoned from AHL Colorado on Sunday.

Posch posted a 15-8-5 record with a 2.78 GAA and an .891 save percentage in 28 appearances during the 2025-26 regular season. He will serve as the Avalanche's emergency third goaltender in the playoffs behind Mackenzie Blackwood and Scott Wedgewood.

  • Avalanche's Josh Manson: Good to go Sunday

Manson (upper body) will play in Game 1 against the Kings on Sunday, according to Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette.

Following a three-game absence, Manson will return to the lineup in a third-pairing role. During the 2025-26 regular season, he accounted for five goals, 31 points, 128 shots on net, 99 blocked shots, 174 hits and 91 PIM in 79 appearances.

  • Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Getting first playoff start

Wedgewood will get the start in goal for Sunday's Game 1 against the Kings, Bailey Curtis of DNVR Sports reports.

Wedgewood has appeared in four playoff games in his career, but this will be the first start in the playoffs for the 33-year-old. He had the best regular season of his career this year, playing in 45 games and going 31-6-6 with a 2.02 GAA and a .921 save percentage. The Avalanche may use Mackenzie Blackwood at some point in the postseason as well, but it will be Wedgewood's net to open the postseason against the Kings, who had the fourth-worst offense in the NHL during the regular season at 2.68 goals per game.

  • Avalanche's Gavin Brindley: Puts up trio of points

Brindley scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Colorado's 7-5 loss to Calgary on Saturday.

Brindley has earned six points over nine outings in the AHL since he lost his NHL spot March 26. The 21-year-old had 13 points over 56 regular-season contests for the Avalanche prior to the demotion. Brindley is in position to compete for a full-time NHL job in 2026-27, though he'll need to play at a high level to earn it on a perennial contender.

  • Avalanche's Nazem Kadri: Set to play in Game 1

Kadri (finger) is expected to play in Game 1 against the Kings on Sunday, per DNVR Avalanche.

After missing five straight games because of a broken finger, Kadri skated on the third line and worked on the top power-play unit during Saturday's practice. He finished the 2025-26 regular season with 16 goals, 50 points, 213 shots on net and 50 hits in 77 games between Colorado and Calgary.

Landeskog (rest) is expected to play in Sunday's home clash against the Kings in Game 1, per Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette.

After getting a night off against Seattle on Thursday, Landeskog is set to return for Game 1 of Colorado's opening-round playoff series. The 33-year-old winger posted 14 goals, 35 points, 132 shots on net, 86 hits and 32 blocked shots across 60 regular-season games in 2025-26. The Avalanche captain was on the third line and the top power-play unit during Saturday's practice.

Necas (rest) is slated to play in Game 1 against the Kings on Sunday, per Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette.

After sitting out Thursday's 2-0 win over Seattle, Necas returned to a top-line role during Saturday's practice. He finished the 2025-26 regular season with 38 goals, 100 points, 206 shots on net and 85 hits in 78 appearances.

MacKinnon (undisclosed) will return to the lineup for Game 1 versus Los Angeles on Sunday, Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette reports.

MacKinnon sat out the season finale Thursday, ending the regular season with 53 goals, 74 assists, 350 shots on goal and a plus-57 rating over 80 contests. He practiced between Artturi Lehkonen and Martin Necas on the top line Saturday and will see first-unit power-play time as well.

  • Avalanche's Tristen Nielsen: Buries pair of goals in AHL loss

Nielsen scored twice in AHL Colorado's 5-2 loss to Calgary on Friday.

Nielsen has four goals and three assists over his last five games. For the year, he's at a career-best 28 goals and 49 points over 66 appearances. Nielsen will look to keep rolling in the AHL postseason, and he's under contract with the Avalanche for 2026-27.

  • Avalanche's Valeri Nichushkin: Dishes two assists in win

Nichushkin recorded two assists and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 2-0 win over the Kraken.

Nichushkin had gone four contests without a point prior to Thursday. The 31-year-old will likely fill a top-six role during the playoffs, though he probably won't be a leader on offense. He concludes the regular season with 49 points, 160 shots on net, 55 hits and a plus-9 rating across 72 appearances.

  • Avalanche's Nick Blankenburg: Nets game-winner Thursday

Blankenburg scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 2-0 win over the Kraken.

Blankenburg has two goals over his last four games. For the regular season, he ends with eight goals, 24 points, 72 shots on net, 59 blocked shots, 55 hits and a minus-10 rating over 61 appearances between the Avalanche and the Predators. Blankenburg will likely get a chance to play as long as Josh Manson (upper body) is out.

  • Avalanche's Parker Kelly: Pots insurance goal

Kelly scored a goal on three shots and went plus-2 in Thursday's 2-0 win over the Kraken.

Kelly snapped a five-game drought with this tally. The 26-year-old ends the regular season with a career-best campaign to his name after putting up 21 goals, 35 points, 104 shots on net, 177 hits, 58 blocked shots and a plus-18 rating. He'll be an integral part of the Avalanche's forward depth during the postseason.

  • Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Shuts out Seattle

Wedgewood posted a 22-save shutout in Thursday's 2-0 win over the Kraken.

Wedgewood was excellent to close out the season, allowing no more than two goals in any of his last eight appearances. He was a little unlucky to go 6-1-1 in that span. Wedgewood ends the regular season at 31-6-6 with four shutouts, a 2.02 GAA and a .921 save percentage in 45 appearances. Wedgewood led the league in GAA and save percentage among goalies to appear in at least 20 games, and his performance, alongside strong work by teammate Mackenzie Blackwood, was enough for the Avalanche's duo to take home the Jennings Trophy for the fewest goals allowed as a team (197). The Avalanche allowed 25 fewer goals than the next closest team, the Stars.
