Stars' Thomas Harley: Notches power-play assist
Harley logged a power-play assist and six blocked shots in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Avalanche in Game 1.
Harley set up Roope Hintz's third-period tally. The 23-year-old Harley had 26 points and a plus-7 rating over 29 contests between the start of February and the end of the regular season. He will continue to function as the Stars' top blueliner until Miro Heiskanen (knee) can return, though Harley could retain a heavy workload if Heiskanen is at less than 100 percent initially. With 50 points in 78 regular-season outings, as well as a plus-32 rating, Harley can handle big minutes in all situations.

Stars' Wyatt Johnston: Records power-play helper
Johnston notched a power-play assist, two shots on goal, two PIM and a minus-2 rating in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Avalanche in Game 1.
Johnston was able to chip in a helper on a Roope Hintz goal in the third period. The 21-year-old Johnston went 20 games without a multi-point performance to end the regular season, earning 12 points and 33 shots on net in that span. He totaled a career-high 71 points (33 goals, 38 helpers) in 2024-25, so he'll be a key figure for the Stars' offense. He's also got decent playoff experience for a 21-year-old, having earned 22 points over 38 outings across the last two postseasons.

Stars' Roope Hintz: Nets lone goal on power play
Hintz scored a power-play goal on three shots and added four PIM in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Avalanche in Game 1.
Hintz got the Stars on the board in the third period, though it was his double-minor penalty for high-sticking in the second that led to the Avalanche's game-winning goal. Hintz ended his seven-game goal drought with the tally -- he had two assists, 13 shots on net and a minus-3 rating in that span. The bigger concern for the 28-year-old is the absence of Jason Robertson (knee), who is week-to-week after suffering an injury in the regular-season finale. Hintz had 28 goals, 67 points, 160 shots on net and a plus-18 in 76 regular-season contests, but he had a slow start to the campaign when Robertson was still getting up to speed after missing the preseason.

Stars' Jake Oettinger: Game 1 woes continue
Oettinger stopped 19 of 23 shots in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Avalanche in Game 1. The Avalanche also scored an empty-netter.
Oettinger couldn't break with recent trends to open the postseason. His losing streak in Game 1s is now eight, dating back to the Stars' first-round series in 2022 versus the Flames. His recent play in 2024-25 is also discouraging -- Oettinger went 0-3-1 with 17 goals allowed over his last four regular-season contest. Combined with the absences of Jason Robertson (knee) and Miro Heiskanen (knee), and the Stars have an uphill battle on their hands already, especially now that they've squandered their home-ice advantage. Still, Oettinger figures to tend the twine for Game 2 on Monday.

Stars' Jake Oettinger: Starting in Game 1
Oettinger will be between the home pipes versus Colorado on Saturday in Game 1 of the opening round of the playoffs, Brien Rea of FanDuel Sports Network Southwest reports.
Oettinger enters the playoffs on a three-game losing streak, allowing 14 goals and 93 shots (.849 save percentage). He needs to turn things around against a tough Colorado team. The Avalanche ranked sixth in the NHL with 3.33 goals per game during the 2024-25 regular season.

Stars' Miro Heiskanen: Day-to-day
Heiskanen (knee) skated in a non-contact jersey at morning skate Saturday and is now considered day-to-day, according to Pierre LeBrun of TSN.
Coach Peter DeBoer said that Heiskanen's next step will be to partake in a practice with contact. Heiskanen has missed the last 32 games. He will not play Saturday versus Colorado, but he could return to the lineup before the end of the opening round of the playoffs.

Stars' Jason Robertson: Week-to-week
Robertson (knee) is week-to-week after he was injured Wednesday versus Nashville, according to Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News.
Robertson's injury puts a serious crimp in the Stars' playoff hopes as the team takes on Colorado in the opening round. He led Dallas with 35 goals and was second in team scoring with 80 points, two behind Matt Duchene. Robertson likely won't be available at any point during the first round, and it may be longer than that for the winger. Due to Robertson's absence, Mikael Granlund and Evgenii Dadonov could play on the top line with Roope Hintz.

Stars' Ben Kraws: Recalled on emergency basis
Kraws was called up on an emergency basis by Dallas on Friday.
There is no word if either Jake Oettinger or Casey DeSmith are injured at this time, or if the Stars are going to carry three goaltenders during the playoffs. Kraws was signed to a one-year, entry-level contract by Dallas last season after completing his senior year at St. Lawrence University. Kraws was 23-12-5 with a 2.88 GAA and a .910 save percentage at ECHL Idaho this season. He also managed three games at the AHL level with Texas, going 2-1-0.

Stars' Alex Petrovic: Recalled by NHL club
Petrovic was recalled from AHL Texas on Friday.
Petrovic was sent to the minors Wednesday, but he'll rejoin the NHL club ahead of postseason play. The 33-year-old appeared in five games for Dallas this year, recording no points, 10 hits, six blocked shots and four PIM while averaging 14:06 of ice time. He's unlikely to play a significant role in the postseason.

Stars' Lian Bichsel: Back in NHL
Bichsel was recalled from AHL Texas on Friday.
Bichsel was sent down Wednesday as the Stars needed his cap room to activate Tyler Seguin (hip) from long-term injured reserve. The playoffs have no bearing on the salary cap, enabling the Stars to recall the 20-year-old defenseman. Bichsel had four goals and five assists across 38 regular-season NHL games before his demotion.

Stars' Tyler Seguin: Earns assist in return
Seguin recorded an assist, three shots on goal and two PIM in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Predators.
Seguin missed 58 games due to a hip surgery. He saw 14:48 of ice time in his return, compared to an average of 16:13 prior to the injury. The 33-year-old will be called on for top-six usage in the playoffs, though he may have his minutes managed if he's playing at less than 100 percent. Still, his presence in the lineup should give the Stars a boost. He earned 21 points, 46 shots on net and a plus-15 rating over 20 regular-season outings.

Stars' Matt Duchene: Garners assist in loss
Duchene logged an assist in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Predators.
Duchene snapped a three-game point drought with the helper on Mason Marchment's first-period tally. That little skid at the end of the season didn't stop Duchene from finishing at a point-per-game pace for the second time in his career. Both instances have been within the last four seasons. Duchene concludes the regular season with 30 goals, 52 assists, 152 shots on net and a plus-13 rating over all 82 contests. He'll be a key top-six forward in the playoffs, where the Stars are set to face his original NHL team, the Avalanche, in the first round.

Stars' Mason Marchment: Scores early in loss
Marchment scored a goal in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Predators.
Marchment tallied just 16 seconds into the game, but that was the only shot that evaded Juuse Saros in this contest. This was Marchment's first game back after missing two due to an illness. The winger racked up eight goals and 10 assists over his last 21 regular-season outings, giving him some momentum to work with entering the postseason. He matched his career high of 22 goals and added 25 assists, 134 shots on net, 79 hits, 53 PIM and a plus-15 rating over 62 appearances this season. Marchment should work with his regular linemates Matt Duchene and Tyler Seguin in a top-six role to begin the playoffs.

Stars' Casey DeSmith: Makes relief appearance Wednesday
DeSmith stopped all 12 shots he faced in relief of Jake Oettinger in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Predators.
Once the game turned into a blowout in the second period, head coach Pete DeBoer turned to DeSmith to play the final frame of the regular season. Barring an injury to Oettinger, this was likely DeSmith's last playing time for a while. DeSmith allowed 15 goals on 117 shots over his last four appearances as part of a larger seven-game losing streak for the Stars. Overall, DeSmith ends the season at a 14-8-2 record with a 2.59 GAA and a .915 save percentage across 27 appearances in his first year with the Stars.

Stars' Jake Oettinger: Can't shake skid in finale
Oettinger stopped 17 of 22 shots before he was pulled from Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Predators.
Oettinger probably shouldn't have been starting in the regular-season finale, but he got the nod anyway. He wasn't able to shake his recent skid, which is up to four straight losses (0-3-1), a span in which he's allowed 17 goals on 134 shots. Oettinger ends the regular season at 36-18-4, one win shy of his career high from 2022-23, and he also posted a 2.59 GAA and a .909 save percentage in 58 starts. He'll be the man between the pipes for the Stars' playoff run, which begins with Game 1 versus the Avalanche on Saturday.

Stars' Jason Robertson: Seen in knee brace after game
Robertson left Bridgestone Arena with a brace on his right knee Wednesday, Emma Lingan of The Hockey News reports.
Robertson was removed from Wednesday's regular-season finale due to the injury, and this update suggests this was more than a precautionary move. Consider the star winger questionable to play in the Stars' playoff opener versus the Avalanche on Saturday. If Robertson can't suit up, Oskar Back or Colin Blackwell will draw into the lineup.
