2h agoBortuzzo was acquired by the Islanders from St. Louis on Friday in exchange for a seventh-round pick.
Bortuzzo has no points, seven PIM, four hits and three blocks in four contests with the Blues in 2023-24. He was serving primarily as the team's seventh defenseman and was frequently a healthy scratch. The Islanders put Ryan Pulock (lower body) on injured reserve Friday, so perhaps Bortuzzo will get regular playing time with New York during Pulock's absence.
-
Erik Gudbranson CLB D
Blue Jackets' Erik Gudbranson: Remains unavailable against Blues
2h agoGudbranson (illness) has been ruled out versus St. Louis on Friday, Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatchreports.
Gudbranson was mired in a five-match pointless streak prior to his three-game absence. As such, the majority of fantasy players probably aren't anxiously awaiting the blueliner's return to action. Andrew Peeke figures to remain in the lineup with Gudbranson shelved.
-

Blue Jackets' Patrik Laine: Still out Friday
2h agoLaine (illness) will remain on the shelf against the Blues on Friday, Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatch reports.
Laine will be out of the lineup for his third straight matchup due to his lingering illness. Since sitting as a healthy scratch against the Flyers on Nov. 19, Laine has rediscovered his offensive game with three goals and one assist, including two power-play points, in his last seven contests. Once cleared to play, Laine should reclaim a top-six role in addition to linking up with the No. 1 power-play unit.

Ducks' Benoit-Olivier Groulx: Playing more, but little offense
6h agoGroulx has gone 12 games without a point.
Groulx was scratch in six of seven games from Oct. 26-Nov. 10, but he's sat out just twice since. Despite the more consistent playing time, he's not generating much offense while playing in the Ducks' bottom six. The 23-year-old has just one assist to go with 14 shots on net, 32 hits, 10 PIM and a minus-2 rating over 18 contests. He could lose his place in the lineup once Mason McTavish (upper body), Trevor Zegras (lower body) and Max Jones (upper body) return.

Lightning's Alex Barre-Boulet: Finds scoresheet in loss
8h agoBarre-Boulet scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 5-1 loss to the Predators.
Barre-Boulet scored Tampa's lone goal in the first period Thursday, one-timing a feed from Brandon Hagel to give the Lightning an early 1-0 lead. The goal is Barre-Boulet's first point since Nov. 7 -- the 26-year-old forward had been scoreless in his last nine games while serving as a healthy scratch in five contests. While Barre-Boulet can offer some scoring upside in the Lightning's top-six, it's hard to rely on consistent production at this point. He has five goals and eight points through 21 games this season.
