  • Blackhawks' Ryan Donato: Chips in goal in loss

Donato scored on his only shot on net in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to Vancouver.

Donato scored his second goal of the season at even strength in the first period of Tuesday's loss. The 28-year-old will be hard-pressed to find offense in 2024-25 due to his bottom-six role and lack of time on the man advantage. The left-shot forward has recorded two goals, two PIM, five shots, 11 hits and three takeaways across five outings. Donato is in the final season of a two-year deal signed with Chicago in July of 2023.

  • Blackhawks' Tyler Bertuzzi: Nets goal Tuesday

Bertuzzi netted a goal on the power play in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Canucks.

In addition to scoring his second goal of the season, Bertuzzi logged five shots, two blocks, one hit and a plus-1 rating in 14:51 of ice time. The left-shot winger has scored twice in his last three appearances, but he's yet to register an assist this season. The 29-year-old is filling a top-six role and skating with the top power-play group, but the possibility of Bertuzzi producing offense consistently could take time as he adjusts to his new club.

  • Blackhawks' Taylor Hall: Scores goal in defeat

Hall scored his second goal of the season in Tuesday's 6-3 defeat against Vancouver.

Hall fired two shots and had a plus-1 rating in 13:43 of ice time. The former first-overall pick is filling a top-six role and seeing power-play time in his 15th NHL campaign. Hall has picked up just three points through seven appearances, and it might take some time for him to find the scoresheet consistently -- the 32-year-old missed 72 regular-season games in 2023-24 due to injuries.

  • Blackhawks' Petr Mrazek: Falls to Vancouver

Mrazek allowed six goals on 30 shots in Tuesday's 6-3 loss against the Canucks.

Mrazek made his fifth appearance of the season Tuesday, but he couldn't help slow down the Canucks, a club that has now won three-consecutive games. The 32-year-old netminder had allowed two goals in each of his last three appearances before surrendering six in Tuesday's defeat. Mrazek has alternated wins and losses to start the 2024-25 campaign, and he's posted a 2-3-0 record, .887 save percentage and 3.24 GAA.

  • Blackhawks' Artyom Levshunov: Heads to AHL

Levshunov (foot) was activated from the injured non-roster list and assigned to AHL Rockford on Tuesday.

Levshunov will make his AHL debut after recovering from a foot injury he sustained in September. Chicago selected him No. 2 overall in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. The 18-year-old blueliner may get a look with the Blackhawks sometime during the 2024-25 campaign.

  • Blackhawks' Alec Martinez: Will travel with team

Martinez (groin) is getting close to returning and will travel with the Blackhawks on their upcoming five-game road trip, which will begin Saturday in Dallas, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports Tuesday.

Martinez is expected to miss Tuesday's game versus Vancouver and Friday's clash against Nashville, but beyond that he might be able to draw back into the lineup. He has an assist, a hit and 15 blocks across four appearances this season. Martinez will serve in a top-four role when healthy.

  • Blackhawks' Petr Mrazek: Tending twine Tuesday

Mrazek will patrol the home crease versus Vancouver on Tuesday, according to Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Mrazek will make his fifth appearance of the 2024-25 campaign -- he's posted a 2-2-0 record, .911 save percentage and 2.53 GAA. The 32-year-old has alternated wins and losses in his four appearances, and he's allowed exactly two goals in each of the last three games. Mrazek's opponent Tuesday, the Canucks, are averaging 2.80 goals through five outings.

  • Blackhawks' Patrick Maroon: Back in action Tuesday

Maroon (lower body) will be in the lineup to face Vancouver on Tuesday, Scott Powers of The Athletic reports.

Maroon returns following just one game on the shelf due to his lower-body injury. Prior to getting hurt, the St. Louis native registered a lone point in his five outings while recording a mere four shots. With Maroon filling a fourth-line role, Philipp Kurashev will serve as a healthy scratch for the first time this season.

  • Blackhawks' Joey Anderson: Skating Monday

Anderson (illness) was on the ice for Monday's practice session, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Anderson missed Saturday's game against the Sabres due to an illness, but it appears likely that he'll be able to return for Tuesday's matchup against the Canucks. Over five appearances this season, the 26-year-old has recorded an assist and four shots on goal.

  • Blackhawks' Connor Murphy: Collects assist in loss

Murphy notched an assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Sabres.

Murphy earned his first point of the year on the second of Craig Smith's two goals in the game. The 31-year-old Murphy doesn't often put up much offense, adding mostly physical production, though he had no hits or blocked shots Saturday. The veteran blueliner has seven hits, 14 blocks, 11 PIM, seven shots on net and a minus-1 rating through six outings this season. Over the last 10 regular seasons, he's reached 100 hits each time and fell short of 100 blocks just once in that span. Murphy has never produced a 20-point campaign.

  • Blackhawks' Seth Jones: Logs helper in loss

Jones posted an assist, five shots on goal and two PIM in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Sabres.

Jones continues to be one of the Blackhawks' better players. He has a goal and five assists over six contests, with his latest point being a secondary helper on the first of Craig Smith's two goals Saturday. Jones has added 21 shots on net, nine blocked shots, four PIM and a minus-1 rating while playing in a top-pairing role with a spot on the first power-play unit. The 30-year-old will struggle to live up to his $9.5 million cap hit, but fantasy managers can be happy if he approaches a 50-point pace while adding plenty of shots, hits and blocks without being too much of an anchor on the plus-minus rating.

  • Blackhawks' Lukas Reichel: Dishes two assists

Reichel notched two assists and four shots on goal in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Sabres.

The 22-year-old winger set up a pair of goals by Craig Smith in Saturday's contest. Reichel was scratched for four straight games to start the year and has played on the fourth line for the last two contests. While it's good that he's playing, seeing limited ice time in the NHL on a rebuilding team isn't necessarily a positive for a player that would likely benefit from more development in the AHL. He had just 16 points in 65 regular-season contests in 2023-24, though that mostly came from seeing middle-six minutes.

  • Blackhawks' Craig Smith: Scores both goals in loss

Smith scored twice on five shots and added four hits in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Sabres.

Smith's goals were separated by 6:20 in the middle of the second period. The 35-year-old winger has been a part-time option for the Blackhawks this season, but he was in the lineup for a third straight game due to the absences of Joey Anderson (illness) and Patrick Maroon (lower body). Smith had 20 points in 75 regular-season outings in a similar bottom-six role with the Stars last year, though the Blackhawks' offense is not nearly as deep or productive, so it wouldn't be surprising to see his scoring drop in 2024-25.

  • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Gives up three goals Saturday

Soderblom gave up three goals on 21 shots in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Sabres. The fourth goal was an empty-netter.

Soderblom gave up a pair of goals in the first period, and John-Jason Peterka netted the game-winner at 18:37 of the second period. The 25-year-old Soderblom has given up five goals on 56 shots over his two appearances this year, but he has gone 0-1-1 so far. Petr Mrazek has done alright in the No. 1 role, so Soderblom likely won't be asked to play more than once a week, and he could be off the NHL roster altogether once Laurent Brossoit (knee) is ready to play.

  • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Guarding crease Saturday

Soderblom will patrol the home crease Saturday against Buffalo, per Charlie Roumeliotis of WGN.

During his season debut, Soderblom stopped 33 of 35 shots in a 2-1 overtime loss to Winnipeg on Oct. 11. Buffalo has accumulated 17 goals in six games en route to a 1-4-1 record this season.

  • Blackhawks' Patrick Maroon: Not playing Saturday

Maroon (lower body) will miss Saturday's matchup versus Buffalo, Charlie Roumeliotis of WGN Radio reports.

Maroon was injured blocking a shot against the Sharks on Thursday. He has one assist and 10 hits in five games this season. With Maroon and Joey Anderson (illness) unavailable, Andreas Athanasiou and Ryan Donato will suit up in Saturday's contest.

  • Blackhawks' Joey Anderson: Out Saturday

Anderson (illness) won't play Saturday against the Sabres, Charlie Roumeliotis of WGN Radio reports.

Anderson will miss his first game this season as he continues to battle an illness. The 26-year-old winger has one assist in five games this campaign. Andreas Athanasiou will draw into Saturday's lineup due to Anderson's absence.
