Kraken's Oliver Bjorkstrand: Sets up Wright's first goal
Bjorkstrand notched an assist and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Canadiens.
Bjorkstrand set up Shane Wright's first NHL goal at 15:30 of the first period. The helper was also Bjorkstrand's first point in three games, but he saw a season-low 10:08 of ice time. He's been slipping down the lineup lately, playing on the third line in recent contests amid an inconsistent run on offense. The 27-year-old winger has three goals, 10 assists, 64 shots and a minus-1 rating through 25 outings.... See More ... See Less
Kraken's Yanni Gourde: Finds helper Tuesday
Gourde notched an assist and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Canadiens.
Gourde has gotten on the scoresheet in five of the last seven games, earning a goal and four assists over that span. The 30-year-old continues to be a key part of the Kraken's defensive structure, though he's also chipped in a solid share of offense. He's at three goals, 11 helpers, 44 shots on net, 38 hits, 16 PIM and a plus-7 rating in 24 contests.... See More ... See Less
Kraken's Andre Burakovsky: Logs assist in Tuesday's loss
Burakovsky posted an assist and three shots on goal in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Canadiens.
Burakovsky set up Jared McCann for a goal in the final second of the second period. The 27-year-old Burakovsky saw a five-game point streak end Saturday versus the Panthers, but he's still earned five goals and six assists in his last seven outings. The top-line winger has been very good for the Kraken with nine tallies, 17 helpers, 69 shots on net and a minus-5 rating through 25 contests.... See More ... See Less
Kraken's Jared McCann: Beats buzzer in second period
McCann scored a goal on five shots and added two hits in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Canadiens.
McCann tallied in the final second of the second period, but the Kraken weren't able to build any momentum from that in the third. This was his fifth goal in the last five games, and he's up to 12 tallies, 17 points, 50 shots, 19 hits and a plus-5 rating through 22 appearances.... See More ... See Less
Kraken's Shane Wright: Tallies in first game back
Wright scored a goal on three shots in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Canadiens.
Wright took the confidence he found while on a conditioning stint with AHL Coachella Valley and applied it in his first game back in the NHL. He scored in the first period, and it coincidentally came against the team that passed him over with the No. 1 overall pick at the 2022 Draft. Wright is up to two points, four shots on net, six blocked shots and a plus-4 rating in eight contests for the Kraken. His time with the big club could still be short, as it's possible he's loaned to Team Canada for the World Junior Championship.... See More ... See Less
Kraken's Martin Jones: Ugly outing versus Habs
Jones gave up four goals on 16 shots in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Canadiens.
There wasn't much the Canadiens could do in the contest, but they made the most of their limited opportunities. It continues a worrying trend for Jones, who has allowed 21 goals over his last four outings. The Kraken's strong offense bailed him out the first three times, as this loss ended his five-game winning streak. The 32-year-old is down to 12-5-2 with a 2.97 GAA and an .888 save percentage in 19 appearances. The Kraken begin a road trip versus the Capitals on Friday.... See More ... See Less
Kraken's Morgan Geekie: Returning Tuesday
Geekie (upper body) is expected to return to the lineup Tuesday versus the Canadiens, Bob Condor of the Kraken's official site reports.
Geekie will center Brandon Tanev and Daniel Sprong on the fourth line. Geekie missed three games with the injury, but he was cold on offense with just one helper in the seven contests prior to his exit from the lineup.... See More ... See Less
Kraken's Martin Jones: Facing Montreal on Tuesday
Jones will start Tuesday's home game against Montreal, Alison Lukan of Root Sports reports.
Jones will get the nod after Philipp Grubauer played in the last two contests for the Kraken. The former has won his past five starts, including a 27-save effort in last Tuesday's 9-8 overtime victory over the Kings. Jones has a 12-4-2 record this season with a 2.90 GAA and an .893 save percentage. Montreal is coming off a 7-6 overtime loss to Vancouver on Monday,... See More ... See Less
Kraken's Shane Wright: Back from conditioning
Wright was recalled from his conditioning assignment with AHL Coachella Valley on Sunday, per CapFriendly.
Wright tallied five goals in six games during his conditioning stint. Prior to being sent down, the rookie forward had been a healthy scratch on a regular basis for Seattle. He has one assist through seven career NHL appearances and it's unclear if the team plans to get him more playing time at the top level.... See More ... See Less
Kraken's Jordan Eberle: Garners helper
Eberle recorded an assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Panthers.
Eberle has gone four games without a goal, but no one's complaining about six assists in that span. The 32-year-old winger has often been streaky, but he's been pretty good over the last month or so with 15 points in 14 games. He's up to six tallies, 16 helpers, 49 shots on net and a plus-3 rating in 24 outings this season.... See More ... See Less
Kraken's Jared McCann: Tallies again in loss
McCann scored a goal on two shots and added two hits in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Panthers.

The 26-year-old is up to 11 goals, five assists, 45 shots on net, 17 hits and a plus-4 rating through 21 contests, and he's earned five power-play points while playing a key middle-six role for the Kraken.... Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Gives up five goals in loss
Grubauer surrendered five goals on 28 shots in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Panthers.
Grubauer didn't have it in this one, as the Panthers were able to overcome a short roster with a strong power play and top line. The 31-year-old netminder took his first loss in three games since returning from a lower-body injury, dropping to 2-2-1 in seven outings overall. He's added a mediocre 3.40 GAA and .868 save percentage. Martin Jones has also struggled with consistency of late, so the Kraken's goaltending seems to have turned back into a weakness, though their offense typically has made them more competitive. Seattle will wrap up a home stand Tuesday versus the Canadiens.... See More ... See Less
Kraken's Morgan Geekie: Still day-to-day
Geekie (upper body) is not expected to play Saturday against Florida, Kraken radio announcer Mike Benton reports.
