  • Senators' Tyler Kleven: Offense slips away again

Kleven was held off the scoresheet for the 13th straight game in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Panthers.

In that span, Kleven is minus-4 with 12 hits, 23 blocked shots and 16 shots on net. The 23-year-old defenseman has been a fixture on the third pairing this season, but it's his defensive work and physical play that have kept him there, along with a few injuries to other blueliners. Kleven is at four points, 53 shots on net, 68 hits, 72 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating through 56 appearances in 2024-25.

  • Senators' Tim Stutzle: Riding eight-game point streak

Stutzle logged a power-play assist, two PIM and a minus-2 rating in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Panthers.

Stutzle has two goals and nine assists during his eight-game point streak. Five of those 11 points have come on the power play, including his helper to Brady Tkachuk in Saturday's contest. For the season, Stutzle is up to 17 goals, 39 assists, 22 power-play points, 111 shots on net, 86 hits and a plus-2 rating over 56 appearances. The star German forward will get a chance to rest during the 4 Nations Face-Off since his country is not included in the competition.

  • Senators' Linus Ullmark: Pelted with pucks in loss

Ullmark made 43 saves Saturday in a 5-1 loss to Florida.

He allowed four goals, all of which came in the second period. Ullmark was flat-out shelled Saturday, with 26 shots coming in the first half of the game. His defense was suspect, and he should have had Gustav Forsling's goal, which came on a long, unobstructed shot. But this loss wasn't on him. Ullmark is still waiting for his first win since his return from injury (0-2-0), so that may come at the 4 Nations Face-Off, which starts next week.

  • Senators' Brady Tkachuk: Power-play success continues

Tkachuk scored a power-play goal in a 5-1 loss to Florida on Saturday.

He fired a game-high 11 shots, but he finished minus-3. Tkachuk was all over the ice in the first frame, but his brother Matthew Tkachuk and the kitties took over early in the second and never looked back. The goal was Tkachuk's 21st, which keeps him on pace for his fourth consecutive 30-goal season. He's put in 11 on the power play where he has been especially prolific -- his career mark there is 12, which was set last season.

  • Senators' Linus Ullmark: Facing Panthers

Ullmark will guard the visiting net in Florida on Saturday, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.

Ullmark returned to action Tuesday after missing 19 games with a back injury. He looked sharp despite absorbing a 4-3 loss, stopping 34 of 37 shots in Tampa Bay. Ullmark is 12-8-2 with three shutouts, a 2.41 GAA and a .915 save percentage. The Panthers are generating 3.27 goals per game, sixth in the league this season.

  • Senators' Shane Pinto: Won't play against Florida

Pinto (upper body) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against Florida, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.

Pinto sustained an upper-body injury against the Lightning on Tuesday and will be unavailable for a second consecutive game heading into the league's break for the 4 Nations Face-Off. The exact severity of Pinto's injury isn't yet clear, but he'll have two weeks to rest before the Senators face Montreal on Feb. 22.

  • Senators' Nikolas Matinpalo: Playing time could drop

Matinpalo dressed as a seventh defenseman in Thursday's 5-1 loss to the Lightning.

Cap space is tight for the Senators as they deal with a rash of injuries to forwards. Matinpalo was available to play as a seventh defenseman, logging just 5:35 of ice time in Thursday's contest. The 26-year-old has yet to record a point in his NHL career, including coming up empty over 17 games this season. He's added 25 shots on net, 10 blocked shots, eight hits and a minus-1 rating. Matinpalo's role could be reduced further once the Senators get an injured forward back or when Jacob Bernard-Docker (ankle) is cleared to return on defense.

  • Senators' Anton Forsberg: Loss snaps three-game win streak

Forsberg made 26 saves in a 5-1 loss to Tampa Bay on Thursday.

He allowed four goals. The loss snapped Forsberg's personal three-game win streak. He's now 8-10-1 in 20 starts with a 2.89 GAA and .893 save percentage. You need the perfect moment and a dash of luck to put Forsberg in your daily lineup.

  • Senators' Michael Amadio: Third goal in four games

Amadio scored the Senators' only goal in a 5-1 loss to the Lightning on Thursday.

It's Amadio's third goal in his last four games. It's a real outburst for the winger, who has just five goals and 14 points in 45 games this season. And his secondary stats (56 hits and 27 blocks) are unspectacular. Amadio is a journeyman who has played for five NHL teams over the last eight seasons. His value is on the ice, not in the fantasy arena.

  • Senators' Shane Pinto: Ruled out against Bolts

Pinto (upper body) will not be in the lineup versus Tampa Bay on Thursday, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.

Pinto was riding a five-game winning streak before he was injured in Tuesday's matchup with the Lightning after logging just 2:57 of ice time. With Pinto on the shelf, the Senators will roll with seven blueliners Thursday, a move which will see Nikolas Matinpalo return to action after sitting out the last game.

  • Senators' Anton Forsberg: Set to start against Tampa Bay

Forsberg was the first goalie off during Thursday's morning skate, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports, indicating that he'll draw the road start against the Lightning.

Forsberg and Linus Ullmark have alternated starts for nearly two weeks, and that trend will continue during the Senators' penultimate game before the league's break for the 4 Nations Face-Off. Forsberg has been productive over his last three starts, going 3-0-0 with a 2.32 GAA and .923 save percentage, but he'll face a tough test Thursday, as the Lightning are averaging 3.46 goals this season, which is the third-best mark in the NHL.

  • Senators' Michael Amadio: Power-play goal in loss

Amadio scored a power-play goal on two shots and blocked two shots in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Lightning.

Amadio opened the scoring at 14:09 of the first period. This was his second goal over the last three games after he went 26 contests without scoring, adding just seven assists in that span. Amadio is up to four goals, 13 points, 51 shots on net, 55 hits and a plus-2 rating over 44 appearances after earning his first power-play point of the campaign Tuesday.

  • Senators' Tim Stutzle: Six-game, nine-point streak

Stutzle recorded an assist Tuesday in a 4-3 loss to the Lightning.

He has nine points (two goals, seven assists) during a six-game streak. Overall, Stutzle has 54 points (17 goals, 37 assists) and 110 shots in 54 games this season. If he continues at this pace, Stutzle will record the second-best season of his NHL career. His best year came in 2022-23, when he put up 39 goals and 90 points in 78 games.

  • Senators' Drake Batherson: Strong season continues

Batherson scored a goal Tuesday in a 4-3 loss to Tampa Bay.

Batherson cut Ottawa's deficit to 4-3 at 18:40 of the third period, scoring on the rush with Linus Ullmark pulled for the extra attacker. The winger has 16 goals, 28 assists and 119 shots in 54 games this season, which puts him on pace to match his career-best 66 points from last season. Batherson is a solid fantasy option, especially with his exploits on the power play. Half of his points (22) have come with the man advantage.

  • Senators' Claude Giroux: Six-game, seven-point streak

Giroux scored a goal Tuesday in a 4-3 loss to Tampa Bay.

He ripped a wrist shot from above the hash marks that beat Andrei Vasilevskiy in the second. Giroux has seven points (two goals, five assists) during a six-game streak. Overall, he has 11 goals, 26 assists and 102 shots in 54 games. At age 37, Giroux continues to deliver fantasy value.

  • Senators' Thomas Chabot: Five points in last four games

Chabot had two assists Tuesday in a 4-3 loss to the Lightning.

Chabot has three assists in his last two games and five points, including four assists, in his last four games. Overall, the cerebral defender has 26 points, including 22 helpers, and 117 shots in 53 games this season. Chabot is a talent, but he is rarely healthy, and his immense upside has never really been tapped into, other than his 55-point campaign in 2018-19.
