  • Maple Leafs' Connor Dewar: Grabs one-year deal

Dewar (shoulder) inked a one-year, $1.18 million contract with Toronto on Tuesday.

Dewar suited up in 17 regular-season contests for the Leafs in 2023-24 after he was acquired via trade. In those outings, the 25-year-old center notched one goal, four assists and 20 shots while averaging 12:54 of ice time. Although the Manitoba native is expected to recover in time for training camp from his shoulder injury, he probably won't offer more than mid-range fantasy value, at best, given his lack of power-play minutes and bottom-six role.

  • Maple Leafs' Philippe Myers: Agrees to one-year pact

Myers signed a one-year, $775,000 contract with Toronto on Tuesday.

Myers generated four goals, 23 points and 67 PIM in 61 regular-season contests for AHL Syracuse in 2023-24. He didn't earn a point in five regular-season appearances with Tampa Bay this past campaign despite earning six shots on goal, eight hits and six blocked shots. Myers will probably spend most, if not all, of 2024-25 in the minors after getting a look at Toronto's training camp.

  • Maple Leafs' Cedric Pare: Inks deal with Toronto

Pare signed a one-year, $775,000 contract with the Maple Leafs on Tuesday.

Pare recorded 35 points over 61 regular-season contests with AHL Colorado last year. He has yet to make his NHL debut, though he could push for a depth spot in 2024-25.

  • Maple Leafs' Dakota Mermis: Inks one-year deal

Mermis signed a one-year, $775,000 contract with Toronto on Tuesday, according to CapFriendly.

Mermis compiled three goals, eight points, 42 shots on net and 59 blocked shots in 47 regular-season appearances with Minnesota in 2023-24. As a member of the Maple Leafs, he will compete for a depth spot on the roster out of training camp.

  • Maple Leafs' Jani Hakanpaa: Gets two-year contract

Hakanpaa (knee) signed a two-year, $3 million contract with the Maple Leafs on Monday, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Hakanpaa had two goals, 12 points, 196 hits and 123 blocked shots in 64 regular-season outings with the Stars in 2023-24. He didn't play past March 16 due to his knee injury, which required an arthroscopic procedure. Provided Hakanpaa is healthy, he'll probably serve on Toronto's third pairing.

  • Maple Leafs' Matt Murray: Re-ups for one year

Murray (hip) signed a one-year, $875,000 contract with Toronto on Monday, Darren Dreger of TSN reports.

Murray failed to appear in an NHL game last season due to a long-term hip injury. The two-time Stanley Cup champion did see action in three minor-league contests in which he went 1-2-0 with a 4.03 GAA and .846 save percentage. At this point, Murray is an insurance policy in case Joseph Woll (back) or Anthony Stolarz misses significant time, but Murray is unlikely to make Toronto's Opening Night roster.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Secures two-year pact

Stolarz signed a two-year, $5 million contract with Toronto on Monday, Darren Dreger of TSN reports.

Stolarz posted a 16-7-2 record with two shutouts, a 2.03 GAA and a .925 save percentage in 27 regular-season appearances with Florida in 2023-24. The 30-year-old netminder could see more playing time with the Maple Leafs. He is projected to share the crease with Joseph Woll, who will probably receive more starts in 2024-25.

  • Maple Leafs' Oliver Ekman-Larsson: Makes four-year commitment

Ekman-Larsson signed a four-year, $14 million contract with the Maple Leafs on Monday, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Ekman-Larsson had nine goals, 32 points, 76 PIM, 105 hits and 70 blocked shots in 80 regular-season contests with the Panthers in 2023-24. He also recorded two goals, six points, 24 PIM, 65 hits and 18 blocks across 24 playoff contests this year in Florida's successful pursuit of the Stanley Cup. The 32-year-old might serve primarily on the third pairing in Toronto with the possible top-four grouping being Morgan Rielly, Timothy Liljegren, Jake McCabe and Chris Tanev. However, even if that's the case, Ekman-Larsson is still likely to see time on the second power-play unit.

  • Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Signs three-year extension

Woll (back) signed a three-year, $10.98 million contract with Toronto on Monday.

Woll posted a 12-11-1 record with a 2.93 GAA and a .907 save percentage in 25 regular-season games with the Maple Leafs in 2023-24. He also went 2-0 with a 0.86 GAA and a .964 save percentage in the playoffs before missing Game 7 against Boston due to a back injury. Woll should be ready for the start of the 2024-25 campaign. He could split starts with whoever Toronto adds during the offseason but might see most of the game action if he can stay healthy.

  • Maple Leafs' Chris Tanev: Grabs six-year deal

Tanev (ankle) signed a six-year, $27 million contract with Toronto on Monday.

Tanev will head home to his native Toronto on a deal that almost certainly will be his last considering he is 34 years old. The veteran blueliner split last season between the Flames and Stars, making a combined 75 regular-season appearances in which he garnered two goals, 17 assists and 207 blocked shots. Offensively, Tanev won't offer much to the Maple Leafs or fantasy managers but he should be a mainstay in the lineup, playing around 20 minutes per night.

  • Maple Leafs' Timothy Liljegren: Secures two-year extension

Liljegren signed a two-year, $6 million deal with the Maple Leafs on Sunday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Liljegren took on a bigger role last year, resulting in an average of 19:40 of ice time through 55 regular-season games. He scored three goals and 23 points. He should remain a staple in Toronto's top four for the next two seasons.

  • Maple Leafs' Max Domi: Agrees to four-year extension

Domi signed a four-year, $15 million contract with Toronto on Sunday, according to Chris Johnston of The Athletic.

Domi compiled nine goals, 47 points, 137 shots on net, 118 PIM and 53 hits in 80 regular-season contests with the Maple Leafs in 2023-24. He also collected one goal and three helpers in seven playoff outings. Domi got a fantasy boost from playing alongside Auston Matthews late in the year. He could occupy a spot on Toronto's top line and see power-play time on the second unit going into the 2024-25 campaign.

  • Maple Leafs' Auston Matthews: Named to U.S. roster for 4 Nations

Matthews was one of the first players selected by Team USA for the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off in February.

In Matthews, Team USA has the NHL's leading goal scorer from the 2023-24 season. He scored 69 times, the most by a player since Mario Lemieux potted 69 in 1995-96. Matthews was a finalist for the Ted Lindsay Award, which goes to the NHL's top player as voted by the players, and he finished third in voting for the Selke Trophy, given to the league's top defensive forward.

  • Maple Leafs' Ben Danford: Reliable defender in Round 1

Danforth was the 31st overall pick by the Maple Leafs in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft on Friday.

Danford was a bit of a first-round stretch, but the Leafs clearly saw something they liked. He's a reliable, two-way defender who's smart with the puck and skates well. Danforth converted to defense as a teenager, so his game is still developing. Time will tell if he can become a minute-munching, top-four puck mover or simply a bottom-pairing board hopper. Either way, Danforth will peak at 30-35 points without secondary category coverage. So that means his value will be on the ice, not in the fantasy arena.

  • Maple Leafs' Artur Akhtyamov: Making jump to North America

Akhtyamov is expected to move to Toronto ahead of the 2024-25 campaign, Terry Koshan of The Toronto Sun reports Wednesday.

Akhtyamov almost certainly will wind up with AHL Toronto this upcoming season considering he is just 22 years of age. Still, the backstop should get the opportunity to show the Maple Leafs what he can do during training camp. Last year with AK Bars in the KHL, Akhtyamov went 6-7-0 with a .921 save percentage and 2.51 GAA.

  • Maple Leafs' Connor Dewar: Slated for shoulder surgery

Dewar will undergo offseason shoulder surgery but is expected to be ready for training camp in September, David Alter of The Hockey News reports Friday.

Dewar ended the season mired in a 14-game goal drought during which he recorded four assists, 14 shots and 26 hits while averaging 11:54 of ice time. Acquired by the Leafs at the trade deadline, Dewar will be a restricted free agent this summer, but he'll likely be back for at least one more season with Toronto. Expect him to continue to see bottom-six usage in 2024-25.
