Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski: Dishes two assists
Werenski logged two assists, two shots on goal, two blocked shots and a minus-2 rating in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Senators.
Werenski had gone two games without a point prior to Thursday, which is a rarity for the star defenseman. He's posted eight helpers over six outings in December. Overall, he has 32 points, 114 shots on net, 46 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating over 31 appearances and is a virtual lock to be in fantasy lineups.

Blue Jackets' Dante Fabbro: Finds twine Thursday
Fabbro scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Senators.
Fabbro ended a 15-game point drought with the tally. He's had a hard time carving out offense from a third-pairing role this season. Fabbro is at five points, 32 shots on net, 59 blocked shots, 20 hits and a minus-9 rating through 31 appearances. Unless he gets back into the top four, he probably won't do enough to help in fantasy.

Blue Jackets' Dmitri Voronkov: Pots power-play goal
Voronkov scored a power-play goal on three shots and went minus-4 in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Senators.
Voronkov has three goals and an assist over his last four games, and his last two tallies have come on the power play. He's up to 12 goals, 22 points, 62 shots on net, 49 hits, 40 PIM and a plus-2 rating through 31 outings. Voronkov is seeing steady top-six minutes and scoring enough to carry decent fantasy value.

Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Two points in return
Jenner produced a goal and an assist in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Senators.
Making his return from a 14-game absence due to an upper-body injury, Jenner got the Blue Jackets on the board late in the first period before helping to set up a Dante Fabbro tally early in the second. Jenner was having a productive start to the season prior to getting injured, and through 17 contests this season he's contributed four goals and 12 points with 34 hits, 34 shots on net, 14 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating.

Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Needed in relief against Sens
Greaves was stuck with the loss Thursday, turning aside 21 of 23 shots after replacing Elvis Merzlikins late in the first period of a 6-3 defeat at the hands of Ottawa.
Greaves was the better of the two Columbus netminders on the night, but the first goal he allowed after replacing Merzlikins wound up being the game-winner. Greaves has taken three straight losing decisions despite allowing just six goals on 91 shots (.934 save percentage) during that span, and he's 0-3-3 over his last six appearances even though he's posted a respectable 2.78 GAA and .907 save percentage. Merzlikins has a woeful 5.20 GAA and .837 save percentage over his last six outings, so Greaves needs only some consistent offensive support to lock down the top job in the Columbus crease.

Blue Jackets' Elvis Merzlikins: Gets early hook Thursday
Merzlikins gave up three goals on five shots before being replaced by Jet Greaves late in the first period of Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Senators.
Poor rebound control contributed to Ottawa's first tally of the night, but Merzlikins simply got beaten by good shots from Drake Batherson and Tim Stutzle for the final two before being lifted by coach Dean Evason. Merzlikins wound up escaping the loss, but it was another ugly line in the box score for the veteran netminder, who's stumbled to a brutal 5.20 GAA and .837 save percentage over his last six outings.

Blue Jackets' Luca Del Bel Belluz: Sent down by Columbus
Del Bel Belluz was assigned to AHL Cleveland on Thursday, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.
Del Bel Belluz spent just over a week with the NHL club, but he'll head back to the minors after Boone Jenner was activated off injured reserve Thursday. Del Bel Belluz has made 11 appearances for the Blue Jackets to begin the year, logging an assist, 10 blocked shots, two hits and four PIM while averaging 9:04 of ice time. He'll likely be a candidate to be called back up if the Blue Jackets need additional depth at some point.

Blue Jackets' Elvis Merzlikins: In goal Thursday
Merzlikins will get the starting nod at home versus the Senators on Thursday, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.
Merzlikins has given up five or more goals in four of his last five outings, while posting a 2-2-1 record and .850 save percentage. With the Latvian struggling, he has found himself relegated to the No. 2 role in Columbus behind Jet Greaves. Still, Merzlikins could play his way into a split share of the goaltending duties if he can start to put together some better performances.

Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Extends losing streak
Greaves stopped 27 of 30 shots in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Hurricanes. The fourth goal was an empty-netter.
Greaves was beaten once in the second period and three times in the final frame, as the Blue Jackets couldn't hold on to their lead. Greaves has been in a major slump and hasn't won a start since Nov. 20, when he earned the W against the Maple Leafs. Since then, he's gone 0-2-3 with a 2.78 GAA and a .905 save percentage. The record and the five-game slump certainly look worse than his peripherals.

Blue Jackets' Dmitri Voronkov: Scores against Carolina
Voronkov scored a power-play goal in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Hurricanes.
Voronkov accounted for all the offense the Blue Jackets could muster with a tip-in at the 12:39 mark of the first period. He gave Columbus the lead, but the team couldn't protect it, and the Hurricanes scored four unanswered goals to secure the win. As for Voronkov, he might he showing signs of digging himself out of his slump. He went pointless in six games between Nov. 22 and Dec. 4, but he's scored twice and notched three points over his last three games.

Greaves turned in a solid performance Sunday against Washington, stopping 36 of 37 shots, but he didn't receive any offensive support en route to a 2-0 loss. He hasn't earned a win since Nov. 20 in Toronto, as he's 0-1-3 with a 2.70 GAA and a .907 save percentage over his last four outings. The Hurricanes are coming off a 4-1 loss to the Sharks on Sunday and have scored exactly one goal in three of their last four games, a span in which they are 2-2-0.
