  • Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: Returning against Penguins

Olivier (illness) will be back in the lineup Tuesday against Pittsburgh, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.

Olivier has two goals, two assists, 23 shots on net, 16 blocks and 35 hits in 18 appearances this season. He is slated to replace Carson Meyer on the fourth line after missing the past three games.

  • Blue Jackets' Elvis Merzlikins: In goal versus Pens

Merzlikins will defend the cage on the road against the Penguins on Tuesday, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.

Merzlikins will make his first appearance in the crease for the Jackets since he suffered a lower-body injury versus the Flyers on Nov. 15. Even with Merzlikins healthy, he is far from a lock for regular starts and will likely continue to serve as the secondary choice behind Joonas Korpisalo.

  • Blue Jackets' Jakub Voracek: Unlikely to return this year

Voracek is still out indefinitely with concussion symptoms and said Monday there's only a "slim" chance that he will be able to return this season, Blue Jackets team reporter Jeff Svoboda reports.

Voracek, who has been out since Nov. 4, has one goal and five assists in 11 games this year. "Obviously I'm going to make my best efforts to try to (return), but it might be a long process," he admitted. "As of now, I don't see myself playing in the near future, but I'll do everything in my power to try to get back on the ice." Voracek added that he feels "OK" right now.

  • Blue Jackets' Trey Fix-Wolansky: Sent down

Fix-Wolansky was assigned to AHL Cleveland on Monday.

Fix-Wolansky appeared in four games with Columbus following his recall from the minors on Nov. 20, compiling six shots on goal, four blocks and five hits. He averaged just 9:56 of ice time. In a corresponding move, the Blue Jackets brought up Kirill Marchenko on Monday.

  • Blue Jackets' Kirill Marchenko: Summoned by Columbus

Marchenko was recalled from AHL Cleveland on Monday.

Marchenko ranks second in scoring among AHL rookies with 19 points (eight goals, 11 assists) in 16 games this season. The 22-year-old forward could get a chance to make his NHL debut Tuesday against Pittsburgh.

  • Blue Jackets' Joonas Korpisalo: Suffers loss to Red Wings

Korpisalo stopped 31 of 35 shots in Columbus' 4-2 loss to Detroit on Sunday.

Korpisalo surrendered two goals over Detroit's five power-play opportunities. This was his fourth loss in five games, bringing him down to 4-5-1 with a 3.51 GAA and .905 save percentage in 10 contests. Elvis Merzlikins (lower body) was activated off the injured reserve list Thursday, so Korpisalo might play a little less frequently going forward.

  • Blue Jackets' Marcus Bjork: Scores power-play goal Sunday

Bjork netted a power-play goal in a 4-2 loss to Detroit on Sunday.

Bjork has two goals and five points in 10 contests this season, including three points with the man advantage. The 25-year-old defenseman averaged 2:37 of power-play ice time from Nov. 19-Dec. 2 and his key role continued Sunday with him logging another 4:47. As long as he maintains that role with the man advantage, he should have some fantasy value.

  • Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Nets sixth goal of 2022-23

Johnson scored a goal in Columbus' 4-2 loss to Detroit on Sunday.

Johnson has six goals and 13 points in 20 games this season. He's been held off the scoresheet only once in his last four contests. Johnson hasn't had a scoring drought of more than two games so far in 2022-23 despite not playing a substantial role; he came into Sunday's contest averaging just 12:35 of ice time. The 20-year-old logged a season-low 8:14 in Friday's 4-1 victory over Winnipeg, but that jumped to 15:18 on Sunday.

  • Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Gets two helpers vs. Detroit

Jenner registered two assists in Sunday's 4-2 loss to Detroit.

Jenner has a goal and four points in his last three games, which brings him up to nine markers and 18 points in 23 contests. He got off to a cold start in 2022-23 with a goal and four points in his first 10 games, but ever since then Jenner has been a fairly reliable offensive contributor.

  • Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: Dealing with illness

Olivier (illness) is not expected to play Sunday versus the Red Wings, Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatch reports.

Olivier also missed Monday's game against Vegas and Friday's contest against Winnipeg because of an illness. He has two goals, two assists, 23 shots on net, 16 blocks and 35 hits in 18 games this season.

  • Blue Jackets' Joonas Korpisalo: Tending twine Sunday

Korpisalo will start Sunday's home game against Detroit.

Korpisalo is coming off a 37-save performance in Friday's 4-1 win over Winnipeg. The victory snapped his three-game losing skid and lifted his record to 4-4-1 on the season. Korpisalo surrendered six goals on 37 shots in a 6-1 loss to the Red Wings on Nov. 19.

  • Blue Jackets' Vladislav Gavrikov: Provides assist

Gavrikov notched an assist, three shots on goal and four blocked shots in Friday's 4-1 win over the Jets.

Gavrikov has picked up helpers in consecutive contests. Along with a pair of two-point games, the defenseman is at two goals and four assists through 22 outings. He's added 28 shots on net, 46 blocked shots, 25 hits and an even plus-minus rating. Gavrikov will continue to see a large role in all situations as the Blue Jackets navigate some awful injury luck.

  • Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Sends helper Friday

Johnson recorded an assist in Friday's 4-1 win over the Jets.

Johnson continued his warm run of late by helping out on an Erik Gudbranson goal in the first period. Since returning from a two-game absence with an undisclosed injury, Johnson has two goals and four helpers in eight contests, including his first career multi-point effort. The 20-year-old is up to five tallies, seven helpers and 22 shots on net in 19 outings overall, which could him some fantasy value in deeper redraft formats as a scoring-only forward.

  • Blue Jackets' Jack Roslovic: Registers helper Friday

Roslovic logged an assist, two shots on goal, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Friday's 4-1 win over the Jets.

Roslovic ended a six-game point drought with the helper. In that span, he also sat out a couple of games with an illness and another as a healthy scratch. The 25-year-old has failed to claim much more than a middle-six role this season, producing seven points, 30 shots on net, 18 blocked shots, 14 hits and a minus-6 rating through 19 contests.

  • Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Picks up helper Friday

Jenner recorded an assist, two shots on goal, two hits and a plus-2 rating in Friday's 4-1 win over the Jets.

Jenner set up the second of Patrik Laine's two goals in the game. With Laine back from an ankle injury, Jenner's production on the Blue Jackets' top line should be set to increase. Jenner is at nine goals, seven assists, 74 shots, 35 hits, 30 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating through 22 contests, but his important minutes in all situations should keep his offense fairly steady.

  • Blue Jackets' Johnny Gaudreau: Distributes three assists in win

Gaudreau notched three assists, two shots on goal and a plus-3 rating in Friday's 4-1 win over the Jets.

Gaudreau helped out on both of Patrik Laine's goals in the game as well as a Gustav Nyquist tally. Getting Laine back from an ankle injury should help Gaudreau's offense, not that he's needed it lately -- during the seven games his teammate was out, the 29-year-old picked up two goals and eight assists. Gaudreau is up to eight tallies, 17 helpers, 67 shots on net and a minus-1 rating through 22 appearances.
