  • Golden Knights' Shea Theodore: Stays warm with power-play helper

Theodore recorded a power-play assist, three shots on goal and four PIM in Wednesday's 5-1 loss.

Theodore helped out on Jonathan Marchessault's second-period goal for the lone tally in the loss. Over his last seven games, Theodore has a goal and seven helpers, with four of those eight points coming on the power play. The defenseman is up to 22 points (five on the power play), 70 shots, 38 blocked shots, six PIM and a plus-13 rating in 28 contests. Theodore should continue to be the Golden Knights' top-scoring blueliner with Alex Pietrangelo attending to a personal matter.

  • Golden Knights' Chandler Stephenson: Draws power-play helper

Stephenson recorded a power-play assist, two shots on goal, two hits and 10 PIM in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Rangers.

Stephenson is up to three assists in four games to begin December, but his goal drought is at 13 contests dating back to Nov. 12. The 28-year-old set up a Jonathan Marchessault tally in this tilt. Stephenson has six goals, 16 helpers, 47 shots on net, 38 hits, 14 PIM and a plus-11 rating through 28 appearances. His offense could remain a little less stable than usual as long as Jack Eichel (lower body) is out of the lineup.

  • Golden Knights' Jonathan Marchessault: Nets lone goal on power play

Marchessault scored a power-play goal on three shots in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Rangers.

Marchessault's second-period marker tied the game at 1-1. He's scored in three straight games, and two of his three goals in that span have come on the power play. For the season, the veteran winger has 11 tallies, 21 points (eight on the power play), 94 shots on net, 36 hits and a plus-1 rating through 28 outings.

  • Golden Knights' Logan Thompson: Unravels in third period

Thompson allowed five goals on 37 shots in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Rangers.

It was 1-1 after the second period, but the Rangers' remodeled top six and first power-play unit came out hot for the third. Thompson couldn't hang on and ended up with a crooked number on the board in his third loss in five starts. He's allowed three-plus goals in four of those outings. For the season, the rookie goalie has a 13-6-0 record, a 2.68 GAA and a .918 save percentage through 19 outings. If he starts at home Friday, it would be against a more favorable opponent in the Flyers.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: On long-term injured reserve list

Howden (lower body) was moved to the long-term injured reserve list Wednesday, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.

Howden's placement on the LTIR is retroactive to Nov. 23, so he's eligible to be activated as early as Dec. 17. The 24-year-old hasn't been skating though and it's not clear when he might be healthy enough to play. He has a goal and three points in 21 games this season.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Hasn't resumed skating

Howden (lower body) hasn't started to skate yet, Ben Gotz of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Howden last played on Nov. 23 because of the injury. If he hasn't skated since being shelved, then it seems reasonable to believe that his return isn't imminent. The 24-year-old has a goal and three points in 21 games this season. When he's healthy, Howden typically serves as a bottom-six forward.

  • Golden Knights' Jack Eichel: Remains day-to-day

Eichel (lower body) skated Wednesday, but he's still considered day-to-day ahead of the evening's matchup with the Rangers, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.

Eichel will miss a second straight contest Wednesday, but the fact that he's resumed skating suggests he may be ready to return sooner rather than later. William Karlsson will likely continue to skate in the top six until Eichel is ready to rock.

  • Golden Knights' Alex Pietrangelo: No timeline for return

Pietrangelo (personal) doesn't have a timeline for his return, Ben Gotz of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. He's no longer listed on the Golden Knights' roster, per the NHL media site, indicating he's been placed on the non-roster list.

At this point it's probably safe to assume Pietrangelo will miss Vegas' next few games at a minimum. Look for rookie Daniil Miromanov to remain in the lineup until Pietrangelo is ready to return.

  • Golden Knights' Mark Stone: Assists in three straight outings

Stone logged and assist and three shots on goal in Monday's 4-3 shootout win over the Bruins.

Stone set up the second of Paul Cotter's two goals in the game. The assist was Stone's third in as many games, though this was a notable one since his usual center, Jack Eichel, was out of the lineup with a lower-body injury. Stone can often thrive regardless of the talent around him as a play-driving winger. He's at nine goals, 12 helpers, 69 shots on net, 23 hits and a plus-13 rating through 27 outings.

Thompson stopped 40 of 43 shots in Monday's 4-3 shootout victory over Boston.

With the victory, the 25-year-old netminder improves to 13-5-0 with an impressive .921 save percentage.
