Rangers' Carson Soucy: Chips in with helper
Soucy notched an assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Maple Leafs.
Soucy was back in the lineup after being a healthy scratch for three games. He replaced Urho Vaakanainen on the second pairing, though Soucy was last among Rangers defensemen with 16:01 of ice time. The 30-year-old blueliner has two points in five outings as a Ranger, and he's up to 12 points, 66 shots on net, 95 hits, 96 blocked shots, 44 PIM and a minus-14 rating over 64 appearances this season.

Rangers' Carson Soucy: Tallies in team debut
Soucy scored a goal and added two PIM in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Senators.
Soucy played on the third pairing alongside Zac Jones. It didn't take Soucy long to make an impact, as he scored at 8:37 of the first period in his Rangers debut, his first goal in eight games. The 30-year-old blueliner was bumped out of Vancouver by the emergence of Elias Pettersson, but it looks like he may get to play regularly with the Rangers. Soucy is at 11 points, 63 shots on net, 86 hits, 93 blocked shots, 44 PIM and a minus-13 rating over 60 appearances this season, so he's not a strong option for fantasy.

Rangers' Carson Soucy: Shipped to Blueshirts
Soucy was traded to the Rangers from the Canucks on Thursday in exchange for a third-round draft pick, Darren Dreger of TSN reports.
Soucy is signed for 2025-26, so this is more than just a rental for the Rangers. The 30-year-old has had a poor season for the Canucks, racking up 10 points and a minus-13 rating over 59 appearances. Much like the Will Borgen acquisition in December, the Rangers will hope they can get more out of Soucy than his previous team was able to, but the blueliner is a primarily defensive player. It's unlikely he'll be a factor in most fantasy formats. The third-round pick involved in the deal is originally San Jose's which the Rangers acquired earlier Thursday in a deal with Vegas that sent Reilly Smith back to the desert, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.

Canucks' Carson Soucy: Nets game-winner Wednesday
Soucy scored a goal in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Ducks.
Soucy tallied at 18:51 of the second period to put the Canucks ahead 3-1. The Ducks got one goal back in the third, but Soucy's tally held as his second game-winner and third goal overall this season. He's up to 10 points, 62 shots on net, 86 hits, 92 blocked shots, 42 PIM and a minus-13 rating through 59 appearances. His defensive struggles this year have put him in danger of losing playing time, especially if the Canucks want to see what they have in Victor Mancini.

Canucks' Carson Soucy: Plucks apple in loss
Soucy notched a helper and two blocked shots in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Golden Knights.
Soucy helped out on a Jake DeBrusk tally in the second period. Injuries to Quinn Hughes (oblique) and Noah Juulsen (undisclosed) have offered a reprieve to Soucy's diminishing playing time. However, Souncy must elevate his game to avoid the occasional trip to the press box. For the season, the defenseman has nine points, 60 shots on net, 83 hits, 87 blocked shots, 42 PIM and a minus-15 rating through 55 appearances, a level of production that likely isn't enough to keep him in the lineup once the team is at full strength.

Canucks' Carson Soucy: Scores in garbage time
Soucy scored a goal on four shots in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Stars.
Soucy ended a 22-game goal drought, a span in which he had just three assists and a minus-11 rating. Soucy has largely played in a bottom-four role this season, but it's unclear if he'll still be an every-game player after the Canucks' trades Friday swapped out Vincent Desharnais for a much better player in Marcus Pettersson. Soucy is likely to be competing with Derek Forbort for a spot on the third pairing, though if one of them can play on their offhand side, Noah Juulsen could instead exit the lineup. With eight points and a minus-15 rating, Soucy's already a shaky fantasy option anyway outside of formats that reward his physicality (42 PIM, 76 hits, 83 blocked shots), and that becomes more true with uncertainty in playing time ahead.

Canucks' Carson Soucy: Produces helper in loss
Soucy notched an assist, two shots on goal, two PIM and three blocked shots in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Sabres.
Soucy ended a 10-game slump when he set up a Phil Di Giuseppe tally in the second period. It's nine contests and counting since Soucy saw more than 20 minutes of ice time, and combined with his natural skill set leaning on the defensive side, he's unlikely to score often. He's at seven points, 49 shots on net, 75 blocked shots, 73 hits, 38 PIM and a minus-10 rating through 46 appearances.

Canucks' Carson Soucy: Two helpers Saturday
Soucy picked up two assists in Saturday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Kraken.
Both helpers came in the second period as the Canucks built a 4-1 lead they would let slip away late. It was Soucy's first multi-point performance of the season, and through 35 appearances, he's delivered a goal and six points with 58 blocked shots, 53 hits, 41 shots on net, 24 PIM and a minus-8 rating.

Canucks' Carson Soucy: Lights lamp early
Soucy scored a goal and added two hits in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Panthers.
Soucy's first goal of the season came at 2:23 of the first period, and it stood as the game-winner. The defenseman has two points over six contests in December, matching his total from November. He's at a goal, three assists, 34 shots on net, 41 hits, 41 blocked shots, 18 PIM and a minus-3 rating over 28 appearances this season. Soucy remains a physical presence in a top-four role, but the lack of offense gives him minimal fantasy upside.

Soucy notched an assist, three shots on goal, two hits and two PIM in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Wild.
Soucy has picked up three helpers over 15 contests since the start of November. He remains in a top-four role for the Canucks, though more as a physical and defensive presence. Overall, the 30-year-old blueliner has three assists, 30 shots on net, 37 hits, 36 blocked shots, 16 PIM and a minus-3 rating through 24 appearances.

Canucks' Carson Soucy: Offers assist in loss
Soucy registered an assist and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers.
Soucy snapped a seven-game slump with the secondary assist on Kiefer Sherwood's first-period tally. The 30-year-old Soucy has had a subpar start to the season while filling a second-pairing role. He's picked up a meager two assists to go with 21 shots on net, 23 hits, 28 blocked shots, 10 PIM and a minus-7 rating through 18 appearances. Without more offense, the blueliner won't be a player for fantasy managers to consider.

Canucks' Carson Soucy: Puts up helper in Game No. 300
Soucy logged an assist, two shots on goal and three blocked shots in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Sharks.
Playing in his 300th career game, Soucy got on the scoresheet when he helped out on Pius Suter's go-ahead tally in the final minute. Soucy earned his first point in 10 outings this season. The 30-year-old defenseman has seen steady second-pairing usage, but he doesn't get much power-play time, instead featuring in a shutdown role. He's added nine shots on net, 11 hits, 19 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating. He's reached the 20-point mark in just one of his NHL campaigns, so Soucy doesn't offer much in the way of scoring upside.

Canucks' Carson Soucy: Lights lamp Friday
Soucy scored a goal on three shots, added three hits and blocked two shots in Friday's 4-1 preseason win over the Oilers.
This was a good example of Soucy at his best. He got involved in the offense, with his tally being the game-winning goal, but he also chipped in with physicality as he often does. The 30-year-old is likely to be paired with Tyler Myers to begin 2024-25. Last season, Soucy was limited to six points in 40 games while adding 65 hits and 64 blocked shots in a similar second-pairing role.

Canucks' Carson Soucy: Supplies assist in loss
Soucy logged an assist and two PIM in Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Oilers in Game 2.
Soucy has found more success in the second round with three helpers over two games after he put up just one assist in six contests during the first round versus the Predators. The 29-year-old blueliner isn't expected to put up a lot of offense while filling a bottom-four role on defense. Soucy has added 24 hits, seven blocked shots, four PIM and a plus-2 rating through eight playoff contests.

Canucks' Carson Soucy: Gets two helpers in victory
Soucy collected two assists in Wednesday's 5-4 victory over Edmonton in Game 1.
The Canucks were down 4-1 after Zach Hyman scored at 13:11 of the second period, but Soucy helped out on the next two markers to get the comeback started. Although the 29-year-old Soucy was noteworthy offensively against the Oilers, that's a rare occurrence for him. He had just six points (two goals) in 40 regular-season contests in 2023-24, and his last multi-point effort came Nov. 2 when Vancouver earned a 10-1 victory over San Jose. He has three assists in seven playoff outings this year.

Canucks' Carson Soucy: Gets on scoresheet with assist
Soucy notched an assist and four hits in Sunday's 4-3 overtime win over the Predators in Game 4.
The helper was Soucy's first point in 23 games since he returned from a hand injury in early March. The 29-year-old defenseman has been a steady presence in the lineup since his return, but he plays a physical game in a bottom-four role that hasn't led to much room for scoring. Soucy had a mediocre six points with 29 shots on net, 65 hits and 64 blocked shots over 40 regular-season appearances.
