Baker (ankle) does not have an injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Packers, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Baker was forced to exit Miami's Week 15 loss to the Bills early, though he managed to play the majority of the game. He practiced throughout the week without issue and is in line to suit up for a pivotal Week 16 matchup against the Packers.... See More ... See Less

Dolphins' Jerome Baker: Tallies half-sack
Baker recorded 12 tackles (six solo) and a half-sack during Sunday's 33-17 loss to the 49ers. Baker has 1.5 sacks in his last two games, production that has coincided with Bradley Chubb getting more involved on defense following Miami's bye. The starting linebacker has recorded double-digit stops just twice this season, but he has some good momentum to carry into Week 14's game against the Chargers.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Jerome Baker: Seven tackles in loss
Baker made seven tackles (five solo) in Thursday's 27-15 loss to the Bengals. Baker led the Dolphins' defense in tackles Thursday, making seven stops. The linebacker is tied with Brandon Jones for the team lead in tackles, compiling 27 total over the first four contests of the campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Jerome Baker: Underwhelms in 2021
Baker notched 92 tackles (62 solo), 5.5 sacks, four pass breakups, one interception and one forced fumble across 16 appearances in 2021. Baker saw his numbers decline in terms of both tackles and sacks despite appearing in the same amount of contests as he did in 2020, and maintaining an every-down role on defense. That said, he did end the 2021 campaign on a high note, with 26 tackles and 4.5 sacks in his last four appearances. The 25-year-old will attempt to bounce back under a new head couch during the 2022 season, after which the Dolphins could evaluate a potential 'out' in his contract.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Jerome Baker: Will play Sunday
Baker (knee) is active for Sunday's contest against the Texans. Baker was a limited participant during practices this week, but he will be available for the Dolphins' Week 9 matchup against the Texans. When healthy, the 2018 third-round pick has played the majority of Miami's defensive snaps this season, but it's unclear if he will be on a snap count after his one-game absence.... See More ... Dolphins' Jerome Baker: Questionable for Sunday
Baker (knee) is questionable for Sunday against the Texans, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Baker was unable to play in Week 8 after suffering the injury early in Week 7. The 2018 third-round pick had been one of the Dolphins' biggest contributors on defense this season, so his return would be a big boost to their linebacker group.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Jerome Baker: Hopes to play Sunday
Baker (knee) is considered day-to-day and hopes to play Sunday against the Bills, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports. Baker avoided a serious knee injury when he went down in the team's Week 7 matchup against the Falcons and was limited in practice Wednesday. If he's unable to suit up against Buffalo, Duke Riley will likely handle increased work.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Jerome Baker: Limited Wednesday
Baker (knee) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Baker left the Dolphins 'Week 7 contest against the Falcons early in the first half. He proceeded to undergo an MRI -- which came back clean -- and it was ultimately determined that his injury isn't serious. Whether or not his availability for Week 8 against Buffalo is in jeopardy is not yet known, but getting in even a limited practice session this far from Sunday is a positive sign.... See More ... Dolphins' Jerome Baker: Sustains head injury
Baker picked up a head injury in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Jaguars in London and is questionable to return. The linebacker will presumably be evaluated for a concussion before the Dolphins determine whether he's fit to return. Baker recorded two tackles prior to his departure.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Jerome Baker: Picks up first sack
Baker racked up eight tackles (seven solo) and one sack during Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers. Baker has 35 total stops through five contests, but so far he hasn't come close to repeating his success as a pass rusher from 2020. During the Dolphins' upcoming road matchup against Jacksonville, Baker will look to get back on track and get some pressure against Trevor Lawrence.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Jerome Baker: Racks up 12 tackles
Baker recorded 12 tackles (eight solo) during Sunday's 17-16 win over the Patriots. Baker played all but one defensive snap and led Miami in tackles during the season opener. The 24-year-old inked a three-year, $39 million extension over the summer and is poised for another 100-plus tackle campaign for the Dolphins if he remains healthy, making him a strong IDP option.... Dolphins' Jerome Baker: Tackling machine in Week 8 upset
Baker collected 13 total tackles, one QB hit and one pass deflection during Sunday's 28-17 win against the Rams. Baker is yet to register an interception or a fumble recovery in his seven appearances this season, though he has been a steady contributor with at least six tackles in all but one of his outings. The 2018 third-round pick also has two sacks on the season, just one shy of his career high with nine games left to go. Baker has really been dialing it up in pass rush of late, recording three QB hits over his past three games played.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Jerome Baker: Disruptive in upset win
Baker had a team-high eight tackles (seven solo) during Sunday's 43-17 win over the 49ers. He also notched one sack and two quarterback hits. After three relatively quiet games, Baker has finally strung together a performance somewhat resembling his game-wrecking Week 1 showing. The third-year linebacker hasn't yet proven the sort of consistency that would make him a high-end IDP asset, but Baker's upside nonetheless puts him in the conversation as an every-week fantasy option.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Jerome Baker: Limited Thursday
Baker was limited in Thursday's practice due to an ankle issue, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports. Baker wasn't listed on Wednesday's injury report, so his ankle issue may have been sustained during practice. In any case, there's not yet any reason to worry about his availability for Sunday's divisional contest against the Patriots.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Jerome Baker: Leads team in tackles
Baker notched 12 tackles (six solo), one defended pass and one interception during Sunday's 36-20 loss to the Giants. Baker notched his first interception of the season during Sunday's loss. He also matched his career-best mark for tackles in a single contest. The second-year pro is a solid fantasy option in IDP formats due to his high floor as a run stopper.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Jerome Baker: Leaves game Sunday
Baker (chest) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Eagles, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports. It's unclear how Baker picked up the injury, but he was forced to leave the game late in the third quarter. As long as the Ohio State product is sidelined, look for Deon Lacey to be the primary beneficiary to see an increase in snaps at inside linebacker and on special teams.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Jerome Baker: Active tackler in blowout loss
Baker made 12 tackles (seven solo) in Sunday's 43-0 loss to the Patriots. Baker played 69 of 70 defensive snaps and led the squad in tackles. The Dolphins kept Baker in despite the blowout nature of each of the first two weeks, and he now has 21 tackles in that stretch. That makes him a respectable IDP asset, especially if he can get to the quarterback occasionally.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Jerome Baker: Returns from groin injury
Baker (groin) earned the start at outside linebacker during Friday's preseason tilt against the Buccaneers and logged 20 defensive snaps. Baker had been hobbled by a groin injury throughout training camp, but he returned to game action Friday and notched a trio of tackles (one solo) in the process. Expect Baker's activity level to ramp up in practice heading into the Dolphins' upcoming exhibition against the Jaguars on Thursday.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Jerome Baker: Bruises knee
Baker bruised his knee during Sunday's game against the Lions, Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com reports. Baker said he was okay after the game, but the linebacker's status is nonetheless worth tracking on a short week before Thursday's Week 8 matchup against the Texans.... See More ... See Less

Joe Schad@schadjoe23H agoThe Dolphins don’t need Dalvin Cook to win playoff games in 2023. It would be a luxury addition. But if Cook really wants to be a Dolphin and is willing to take a mostly club-friendly deal, Miami has no choice but to explore. But even without Cook, the run game will be better.
