Top Bengals News

  • Bengals' Mike Gesicki: Stellar production in narrow loss

Gesicki brought in all six targets for 86 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals' 39-34 loss to the Bills on Sunday.

Gesicki finished tied with Tee Higgins for the team lead in receptions and as the runner-up to his teammate in receiving yards, and both figures were also new season highs. The veteran tight end also scored his first touchdown of the campaign on a 12-yard grab with just under nine minutes remaining. Gesicki has proven to have good chemistry with Joe Burrow, so he'll remain a viable option at a tricky fantasy position in a Week 15 home rematch with the Ravens next Sunday.

  • Bengals' Chase Brown: Stymied by Bills in loss

Brown rushed 12 times for 23 yards and a touchdown and brought in three of four targets for 12 yards in the Bengals' 39-34 loss to the Bills on Sunday.

Brown had a seemingly tantalizing matchup coming into the afternoon against what had been a vulnerable Bills front seven, but the third-year back was consistently shut down on the ground. Brown was less productive than usual as a receiver as well, considering his yardage total in that capacity was his lowest since Week 7. Brown's first opportunity to bounce back will come in a Week 15 home rematch against a Ravens team he posted 113 total yards against in a Thanksgiving Night win.

  • Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase: Held in check by Bills

Chase brought in five of eight targets for 44 yards and rushed once for eight yards in the Bengals' 39-34 loss to the Bills on Sunday.

Chase took a back seat to the returning Tee Higgins on the afternoon, with the Bills' attention on the former paying off nicely for the latter. Chase's receiving yardage total was his second sub-50-yard tally in the last three games, but the elite wideout hasn't seen fewer than eight targets since Week 3. Chase will aim to bounce back in a Week 15 home rematch with a Ravens team he posted a 7-110-0 line against in a Thanksgiving Night win.

  • Bengals' Joe Burrow: Four TDs in high-scoring loss

Burrow completed 25 of 36 passes for 284 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions in the Bengals' 39-34 loss to the Bills on Sunday.

Burrow was victimized by a pair of line-of-scrimmage interceptions on back-to-back plays in the fourth quarter, plays that ultimately turned the tide of the game. The Bills' Christian Benford made a stellar leaping grab of an attempted screen pass on the first pic, while A.J. Epenesa got a hold of a deflected throw in the second instance. Otherwise, Burrow's second game back after a long layoff saw the 2020 first-round pick thrive despite snowy conditions, connecting on a season-high four touchdown passes to Tee Higgins (21, 25 yards), Chase Brown (10 yards ) and Mike Gesicki (12 yards). Burrow will next face off with the same Ravens squad he upended in his Thanksgiving Night return when Baltimore pays a visit for a Week 15 matchup next Sunday.

  • Bengals' Tee Higgins: Stellar performance in return

Higgins brought in six of 11 targets for 92 yards and two touchdowns in the Bengals' 39-34 loss to the Bills on Sunday.

Higgins' return from a one-game absence due to a concussion was memorable, as the veteran wideout led the way for the Bengals in receiving yards, targets and touchdown receptions on the day while also tying for the team lead in catches. Higgins had a couple of injury scares during the contest, including one that involved a concussion check after his helmet snapped against the turf on a catch attempt, per Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer. However, Higgins made it back to the field on both occasions and posted his third-highest yardage total of the campaign while recording picturesque 21- and 25-yard scoring grabs. Sunday also marked Higgins' first opportunity to work with Joe Burrow since Week 2 since the wideout had missed the quarterback's Thanksgiving return against the Ravens, and the duo will look to keep clicking in a Week 15 divisional home showdown against the Ravens next Sunday.

  • Bengals' PJ Jules: Won't return vs. Bills

Jules (ankle) won't return to Sunday's game versus Buffalo.

Jules sustained an ankle injury in the first quarter that will sideline him for the remainder of the matchup. Daijahn Anthony and Tycen Anderson could see increased playing time in Jules' absence.

  • Bengals' Joseph Ossai: Dealing with shin injury

Ossai (shin) is questionable to return to Sunday's contest against the Bills.

Ossai sustained an apparent right shin injury in the second half, and his status for the remainder of the game is now uncertain. In his absence, Cedric Johnson and Cameron Sample are candidates to see an increase in workload on the defensive line.

  • Bengals' PJ Jules: Questionable to return

Jules (ankle) is questionable to return in Sunday's game against the Ravens.

Jules limped off the field early in the first quarter of Sunday's Week 14 game against the Ravens. The 24-year-old was only seen on special teams before the injury. Jordan Battle will remain the primary option at safety while Jules is out.

  • Bengals' Jermaine Burton: Suspended for Sunday's game

Burton (suspension) is officially inactive for Sunday's game against the Bills.

Ben Baby of ESPN.com previously reported that Burton didn't travel to Buffalo for non-injury related reasons, with Tom Pelissero of NFL Network subsequently noting that Burton was suspended for Sunday's contest. The 2024 third-rounder has yet to see regular-season action this season. Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Andrei Iosivas, Mitchell Tinsley and Charlie Jones slated to handle the Bengals' Week 14 WR duties.

  • Bengals' Jake Browning: Emergency QB for Week 14

Browning (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bills but will serve as the Bengals' emergency third quarterback.

Browning will serve as the Bengals' emergency QB3 behind Joe Burrow and Joe Flacco for a second consecutive game. As such, Browning is prohibited from seeing the field Sunday unless both Burrow and Flacco leave the game due to injury, illness or ejection.

  • Bengals' Jermaine Burton: Won't play Sunday

Burton didn't travel to Buffalo and has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Bills for a non-injury-related reason, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.

The 2024 third-round pick has yet to play in a game this season, including in Week 12 against the Patriots when Ja'Marr Chase served a suspension and in Week 13 when Tee Higgins sat out with a concussion. The second-year wideout will remain inactive once again this week.

  • Bengals' Shaka Heyward: Not playing Sunday

Heyward (lower leg) has been ruled out for Cincinnati's matchup versus the Bills on Sunday.

Heyward was designated to return from injured reserve, but the team will wait at least one more week before officially activating him. Sunday's game will mark the 25-year-old's fifth consecutive absence, but he'll aim to be good to go for the Week 15 matchup versus Baltimore.
