  • Giants' Kayvon Thibodeaux: Fifth-year option picked up

General manager Joe Schoen said Thursday that the Giants will pick up Thibodeaux's fifth-year option, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.

Thibodeaux will be with the Giants through the 2026 season and will collect $14.75 million in the fifth year of his rookie deal. The 2022 first-round pick missed five games in 2024 due to a wrist injury and finished the regular season with 28 tackles (14 solo), including 5.5 sacks, two pass defenses and one forced fumble in 12 games. Thibodeaux will be part of a formidable defensive front consisting of Brian Burns, Dexter Lawrence (elbow) and 2025 third-overall pick Abdul Carter (foot).

  • Giants' Korie Black: Headed to Big Blue

The Giants selected Black in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 246th overall.

Black was a three-year starter at Oklahoma State and had four career interceptions with 25 pass breakups. He has a physical play style, but he still slipped further than projected in the draft. The Giants have been seeking stability in the secondary, though Black will likely be limited to special-teams work if he's able to crack the roster.

  • Giants' Thomas Fidone: Joining Big Blue

The Giants selected Fidone in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 219th overall.

Fidone started a pair of seasons at Nebraska and compiled 61 catches for 633 yards and four touchdowns over that time after missing 2021 and 2022 due to injuries. He posted solid numbers at the NFL Combine in February, and he's at his best working down the seam. Fidone is set to provide depth at tight end and will need to play special teams to claim a spot on the Giants' 53-man roster coming out of training camp.

  • Giants' Marcus Mbow: Giants add athletic blocker

The Giants selected Mbow in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 154th overall.

Mbow (6-foot-4, 303 pounds) is a bit light, but the Purdue product started three years in college -- two seasons at guard and one at right tackle -- and he demonstrated starting-caliber NFL upside with his film. It's possible that Mbow fell to the fifth round over concerns about scheme versatility, because his athleticism and technique plays better in zone blocking than his light anchor does as a power blocker.

  • Giants' Cam Skattebo: Taken by Giants in fourth round

The Giants selected Skattebo in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 105th overall.

Skattebo was a two-year starter at Arizona State after spending the first two years of his collegiate career with Sacramento State. He broke out in 2024 with 1,711 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns on 293 carries while adding 45 catches for 605 yards and three scores, and he played an integral role in the Sun Devils winning the Big 12 Championship and earning a spot in the College Football Playoff. There are some questions around Skattebo's pass protection and downhill speed, but his physicality and versatility as a receiver out of the backfield should give him an opportunity to see some snaps on passing downs right out of the gate. Skattebo joins a Giants backfield headlined by 2024 fifth-round pick Tyrone Tracy and veteran Devin Singletary.
