  • Giants' Levine Toilolo: Officially placed on IR

Toilolo (Achilles) was placed on the Giants' injured reserve Monday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports. Toilolo suffered a torn Achilles tendon at practice last week, so this move was only a matter of time. The 30-year-old will now focus on his recovery and set his sights on the 2022 season.

  • Giants' Levine Toilolo: Suffers torn Achilles

Toilolo sustained a torn Achilles tendon during Wednesday's practice, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports. Toilolo was working off to the side at Wednesday's practice and was carted off the field after suffering the injury. The 30-year-old will miss the rest of the season, and it should only be a matter of time before he shifts to injured reserve.

  • Giants' Levine Toilolo: Restructuring contract

Toilolo has agreed to restructure his contract with the Giants in order to remain with the team in 2021, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Toilolo was primed to make roughly $3 million in the coming campaign, a figure which likely would have made him a cap casualty, but he'll instead restructure the final year of his deal in order to stick with New York. He played a depth role last season and only was targeted six times despite playing all 16 games.

  • Giants' Levine Toilolo: Not much action in 2020

Toilolo secured five of six targets for 46 yards in 16 games with the Giants in 2020. Toilolo played 275 offensive snaps in 2020, but he was rarely utilized in the receiving game. The 29-year-old remains under contract with the Giants in 2021, so he stands to return in a similar depth role that won't provide much (if any) fantasy value.

  • Giants' Levine Toilolo: Ready for MNF

Toilolo (hamstring) is active for Monday's game versus the Steelers, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Toilolo logged limited sessions during the practice week and made enough progress for his Giants debut. The 29-year-old doesn't present much fantasy value as the No. 3 TE behind Evan Engram and Kaden Smith.

  • Giants' Levine Toilolo: Officially questionable

Toilolo (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Monday's contest against the Steelers, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Toilolo probably doesn't present much fantasy upside, but his status is up in the air nevertheless ahead of Monday's prime-time contest. Both Evan Engram and Kaden Smith figure to be ahead of Toilolo on the depth chart whether he's able to play or not.

  • Giants' Levine Toilolo: Nursing hamstring injury

Toilolo was limited in Thursday's practice due to a hamstring issue, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports. Toilolo isn't likely to offer fantasy relevance behind Evan Engram and Kaden Smith, but the Giants are counting on his presence as a blocker. He'll work to resume practicing in full before Monday's tilt against the Steelers.

  • 49ers' Levine Toilolo: Joining Big Blue

Toilolo is signing with the Giants, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Toilolo figures to take on the blocking role previously occupied by Rhett Ellison, who announced his retirement from football last week. Toilolo will turn 29 in July, coming off a 2019 campaign with the 49ers in which he caught two passes on 191 offensive snaps. He has 97 receptions in 108 career regular-season games.

  • 49ers' Levine Toilolo: Watching from sidelines Sunday

Toilolo (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Packers. With George Kittle (ankle/knee) active, Toilolo will miss his first game of the season as Ross Dwelley and Garrett Celek will fill in as depth to Kittle. Toilolo mainly serves as a run-blocking option when he's active, catching just two passes for 10 yards over 10 games this year.

  • 49ers' Levine Toilolo: Practices in full Friday

Toilolo (groin) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. Toilolo practiced on a limited basis Wednesday and Thursday before returning as a full participant Friday. If George Kittle (knee) sits out again, Toilolo and Garrett Celek will likely see limited snaps behind Ross Dwelley against Arizona.

  • 49ers' Levine Toilolo: Limited participant Wednesday

Toilolo (groin) was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice. The 28-year-old didn't have an injury designation for Monday's loss to the Seahawks and played 12 offensive snaps, but he's not fully over the groin injury. Toilolo's status could have increased importance in Week 11 with George Kittle (knee) and Garrett Celek (back) also battling injuries.

  • 49ers' Levine Toilolo: Cleared ahead of Week 10

Toilolo (groin) logged another limited practice Saturday, but he shed his injury designation ahead of Monday's matchup with the Seahawks. Toilolo will likely serve as the No. 2 tight end in the contest for San Francisco. George Kittle (knee/ankle) is listed as doubtful, but Ross Dwelley is expected to be the primary beneficiary of a potential Kittle absence.

  • 49ers' Levine Toilolo: Limited Friday

Toilolo (groin) was limited at Friday's practice, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Toilolo's limited participation is an improvement from Thursday's practice, where he was unable to suit up at all. The 49ers do not play until Monday night, giving Toilolo an extra day to recover. If he suits up, he will provide depth for San Francisco's tight end corps but offers little value in the passing game, having caught only two balls all season.

  • 49ers' Levine Toilolo: Sits out practice Thursday

Toilolo (groin) didn't participate in Thursday's practice, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. Toilolo played through this groin issue in the last two games, so he still has a good shot to play Monday against the Seahawks as long as he gets on the practice field Friday and/or Saturday. The 28-year-old tight end doesn't provide much fantasy upside since he's used in a blocking role on 60 percent of his offensive snaps. However, he could see a slight boost if George Kittle (knee) is inactive, although Ross Dwelley would be the main beneficiary.

  • 49ers' Levine Toilolo: Active for TNF

Toilolo (groin) is active for Thursday's contest against the Cardinals. Toilolo managed to shake his groin injury in time to suit up for Thursday Night Football. He'll play a depth role in San Francisco's tight end corps.

  • 49ers' Levine Toilolo: Questionable for Thursday

Toilolo (groin) was questionable for Thursday's game against the Cardinals. Toilolo was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice and will still have a chance to play Thursday. The 28-year-old played only seven snaps and wasn't targeted in Sunday's win over the Panthers.

  • 49ers' Levine Toilolo: Non-participant Tuesday

Toilolo (groin) was estimated as a non-participant for Tuesday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. The 49ers only held a walkthrough ahead of Thursday's game against the Cardinals, but if they did conduct a full practice, Toilolo wouldn't have been a part of it. The veteran came into last week's game dealing with the same issue but ultimately played, so he'll be hoping for the same scenario a week later. The Stanford product will likely have to log at least a limited practice session Wednesday to have a chance to suit up Thursday.

  • 49ers' Levine Toilolo: Ready to rock

Toilolo (groin) is officially active for Sunday's game against the Panthers. Toilolo came into the game questionable, and was trending in the wrong direction when coach Kyle Shanahan said if they were playing Friday, his tight end wouldn't play. Now that he's officially healthy for Week 8, he's expected to be deployed as the team's third-string tight end.

  • 49ers' Levine Toilolo: Listed as questionable

Toilolo (groin) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Coach Kyle Shanahan said if the 49ers were playing Friday, Toilolo wouldn't suit up, according to Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com. It's never a good sign when a player has to make a quick recovery like that (see David Johnson), so the 49ers are trending toward rolling out George Kittle and Ross Dwelley as their two tight ends Sunday.

  • 49ers' Levine Toilolo: Hauls in pass

Toilolo caught his only target, a two-yard reception, during Sunday's 9-0 win over Washington. After going targetless during the first four games of the season, Toilolo has a target and a catch in each of his past two games. Sunday's target came from the Washington four-yard line early in the fourth quarter, but he isn't much of a threat to score despite a big frame with four touchdowns in the last five seasons. Whatever small role he's managed to build in an offense that has struggled to find quality pass-catchers should now shrink with the addition of Emmanuel Sanders from Denver.
