2017 NFL Draft Round 1
1 B+

Browns select: Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M
It was the right pick to take Garrett, but there are concerns. They better hope he's not Courtney Brown 2.0.

2 D

Bears select: Mitchell Trubisky, QB, North Carolina
Why give up so much to get this guy? It makes no sense. Is he Tom Brady all of the sudden? Bad move.

3 A+
49ers select: Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford
John Lynch is off to a great start in his first draft. Fleeced the Bears and got his guy. Love this move.
4 D
Jaguars select: Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU
Why? I like the player, hate the position. You don't take running backs this high.
5 B+
Titans select: Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan
He's the best receiver in this draft. I like this pick. Solid. But what about defensive backs?
6 B

Jets select: Jamal Adams, SS, LSU
They had to be thrilled this kid fell to them. Great kid at a need spot.

7 C-

Chargers select: Mike Williams, WR, Clemson
I know they need receivers, but I don't think this kid separates well enough.

8 D

Panthers select: Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford
I like his skill set with the way the game is played, but again, it's a back in the top 10. Hate that.

9 B

Bengals select: John Ross, WR, Washington
I like this pick more than Williams. Why? He can fly. They need help for A.J. Green.

10 B+

Chiefs select: Patrick Mahomes II, QB, Texas Tech
I like the player, who I think is the best QB in this draft, but they gave up a bunch. He better be.

11 A

Saints select: Marshon Lattimore, CB. Ohio State
They stood pat and ended up with the best corner in the draft, who goes to a team that needs one in the worst way.

12 C-

Texans select: Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson
That's a lot to give up to go get him, but they had to do something.

13 A

Cardinals select: Haason Reddick, OLB, Temple
I love this kid. He can play inside, outside, blitz and he's a tough kid. Love this pick.

14 A

Eagles select: Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee

Love this pick. They might be getting the best pass rusher in this draft.

15 A

Colts select: Malik Hooker, FS, Ohio State
Chuck Pagano just might have gotten his next Ed Reed. The kid has great range in the middle of the field.

16 B

Ravens select: Marlon Humphrey, CB, Alabama

They need a corner, so I get it. The Alabama connection with Ozzie Newsome helps this pick.

17 A

Redskins select: Jonathan Allen, DE, Alabama
He's a top-five talent who fell. This is a heck of a pick.

18 B+

Titans select: Adoree' Jackson, CB, USC
They needed a corner, and this is a game-changing player at the position. I also like this kid's ability as a return man.

19 B+

Buccaneers select: O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama
They could have used defensive help, but they took a player who might be the cleanest in this draft.

20 B

Broncos select: Garrett Bolles, OT, Utah
He's an older player at 25, but he's a Day 1 starter for them at left tackle -- filling a major need.

21 B-

Lions select: Jarrad Davis, LB, Florida
This fills a need, and he will add speed to a unit that needs it.

22 B+

Dolphins select: Charles Harris, DE, Missouri
This is another pass rusher the scouts liked more than the draftniks. They had to get pass-rush help.

23 B

Giants select: Evan Engram, TE, Mississippi
They need a tight end, but I would have gone for an offensive lineman here. He is a good pass catcher.

24 B-

Raiders select: Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State
There is risk, but it could pay off in a big way. He is a nice cover player, which is what they need.

25 F

Browns select: Jabrill Peppers, SS, Michigan
I don't like this pick at all. Where does he play?

26 A

Falcons select: Takkarist McKinley, OLB, UCLA
Love this pick. This kid has big-time edge-rush ability. He does have medical issues, but should be OK.

27 B+

Bills select: Tre'Davious White, CB, LSU
They had to get a corner and they got one of the best ones in the draft. I like getting him after the trade down.

28 B-

Cowboys select: Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan
They need help up front, but this kid flashed at times and did little else.

29 B-

Browns select: David Njoku, TE, Miami
He has pass-catching ability, but he's raw. Who gets him the ball?

30 B+

Steelers select: T.J. Watt, OLB, Wisconsin
I like the pick. He fills a pass-rush need and he is a rising player. Still learning to play the game.

31 A

49ers select: Reuben Foster, ILB, Alabama
He has a Ray Lewis-type of game. Love this pick. Top-10 talent.

32 C+

Saints select: Ryan Ramczyk, OT, Wisconsin
I don't get this pick. Where does he play? Is this the end for Zach Strief?
