Blue Jackets' Hunter McKown: Back in Cleveland
McKown was returned to AHL Cleveland on Saturday, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.
McKown was held off the scoresheet in a 7-3 loss to Pittsburgh after being recalled Friday to play in the Blue Jackets' preseason finale. McKown had nine goals and 24 points in 53 regular-season contests with AHL Cleveland in 2023-24.

Blue Jackets' Hunter McKown: Recalled Friday
McKown was elevated from AHL Cleveland on Friday.
McKown made the jump to the professional ranks last year following a three-year career with Colorado College. In his 53 regular-season games with AHL Cleveland, the 22-year-old center notched nine goals and 15 assists, adding another four points in 11 playoff matchups. While McKown likely will play most of his games in the minors this year, his offensive upside should see him make his NHL debut at some point during the 2024-25 campaign.

McKown's quest for a roster spot with the Blue Jackets came up short, as their offseason additions gave them more forward depth. The 21-year-old could still earn a call-up if he starts the season well with the Monsters.
