Flyers' Noah Cates: Records helper in loss
Cates managed an assist in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Sabres.
Cates picked up two goals and seven assists over the last 11 games of the season, rebounding after a poor stretch in early March. The 26-year-old forward played at center much of the year and typically saw top-six minutes. His offense doesn't reflect that -- he ends the season with 16 goals, 21 assists, 110 shots on net, 87 hits, 54 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating over 78 appearances. Still, Cates took strides defensively and could be a reliable two-way forward for the Flyers in the years to come. He'll be a restricted free agent this summer.

Flyers' Noah Cates: Finds twine Sunday
Cates scored a goal and put three shots on net in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Senators.
Cates found the back of the net for Philadelphia's second goal in the latter stages of the second period. With Sunday's tally, the 26-year-old forward is up to 16 goals, 36 points and 109 shots on net in 76 appearances this year. Cates needs two points in Philadelphia's last two games to tie his career high of 38 from the 2022-23 season. He's settled into the top-line center role and has averaged north of 17:30 TOI since the calendar flipped to 2025. Cates will be a restricted free agent this summer, and if Philadelphia elects to retain him, he should see top-six minutes for the Flyers next season as well.

Flyers' Noah Cates: Provides two assists Wednesday
Cates logged two assists, two hits and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 8-5 win over the Rangers.
Cates has six points over his last seven games, though he's been bolstered by a pair of multi-point efforts in that span. It's still better than his nine-game slump from March 6-22. The 26-year-old has been an effective depth scorer in 2024-25, earning 15 goals, 19 assists, 106 shots on net, 86 hits, 52 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over 74 appearances so far.

Flyers' Noah Cates: Three-point effort Saturday
Cates scored a goal and added two assists, one on the power play, in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Sabres.
The 26-year-old produced his first multi-point performance since Feb. 25 in the big win. Cates had all but vanished in March, managing just one helper over the prior 12 contests, but his ice time has remained consistent. With the Flyers' offense suddenly springing to life under interim head coach Brad Shaw, Cates could have a strong finish to the season.

Flyers' Noah Cates: Gathers helper Sunday
Cates logged an assist in Sunday's 7-4 loss to the Blackhawks.
Cates snapped a nine-game slump with the primary helper on Bobby Brink's first-period tally. During that slump, Cates had a minus-6 rating with 16 shots on net, 10 hits and nine blocked shots. His evolution as an all-situations player has helped shield him from losing too much ice time when his offense is cold. The 26-year-old has 29 points, 101 shots on net, 70 hits, 48 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through 68 appearances this season, mainly as a middle-six center.

Cates scored a goal on three shots in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Flames.
Cates extended his point streak to four games, a span in which he has earned four goals and two assists. The 26-year-old continues to see top-six usage and has rebounded well from a month-long drought that directly preceded this surge. For the season, he's at a career-high 14 goals while adding 14 assists, 84 shots on net, 59 hits, 38 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating through 58 appearances.

Flyers' Noah Cates: Pots another goal Thursday
Cates scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Penguins.
Cates has three goals and an assist over his last two games, both against the Penguins. Prior to that, he had gone 11 contests without a point. The Flyers' offense can be streaky, which doesn't help Cates' cause for scoring, but the 26-year-old has generally impressed to make himself a regular in the lineup this season. He's at 13 goals, 13 assists, 78 shots on net, 58 hits, 36 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating through 56 appearances, showcasing a stronger two-way game than in years prior.

Flyers' Noah Cates: Snaps 11-game point drought
Cates had two goals and an assist in Tuesday's 6-1 win over Pittsburgh.
Cates' first goal ended an 11-game point drought and 12-game goal drought. Prior to the slump, he had a strong run from mid-December to mid-January when he put up 17 points (nine goals, eight assists) in 19 games. Cates' fantasy value is limited unless he goes on a tear.

Flyers' Noah Cates: Registers two helpers
Cates had two assists, two shots on goal and three blocked shots in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Devils.
In the third period, Cates had the primary helper on Bobby Brink's power-play goal and Travis Konecny's empty-netter. The 25-year-old Cates has compiled nine goals and eight assists in his past 19 outings. He has 10 goals and 22 points through 43 appearances this season.

Flyers' Noah Cates: Fills empty cage
Cates scored an empty-net goal on three shots in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Islanders.
Cates has three goals over his last three contests. The 25-year-old has been on the third line for much of the season, but his average ice time has trended up over a 15-game stretch in which he has eight goals and five assists. His tally Thursday got him to the 10-goal and 20-point marks through 42 appearances this season, and he's getting to a level of production that should be useful in fantasy.

Flyers' Noah Cates: Pots two tallies including GWG
Cates scored two goals, one on the power play and the other the game-winner, in Monday's 4-3 victory over the Panthers.
Both goals came in the third period, with the game-winner coming on a spectacular solo effort that saw him jump on a loose puck in the neutral zone, chip it past Aleksander Barkov and then beat Sergei Bobrovsky on the backhand. It was Cates' first multi-goal performance since his rookie season in 2021-22, and the PP tally and the GWG were both his first of the current campaign in those categories. The 25-year-old is solidifying his hold on a top-six role, and over the last 16 games he's racked up eight goals and 14 points.

Flyers' Noah Cates: Snags helper in overtime loss
Cates provided an assist, three shots on goal and four hits in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs.
Cates has a helper in three straight contests. He's gotten on the scoresheet in 10 of 12 games dating back to Dec. 10, earning six goals and five assists in that span. The 25-year-old forward has made the third-line center spot his own this season, and the offense is an added bonus. He's at 16 points, 41 shots on net, 40 hits, 20 blocked shots and a plus-9 rating over 36 appearances. The offense doesn't stand out, but he's offering decent non-scoring production to be helpful in deeper fantasy formats.

Cates logged an assist in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Golden Knights.
Cates has gotten on the scoresheet in nine of his last 11 games, racking up six goals and four helpers in that span. While he's almost never an explosive scorer, the 25-year-old has upped his consistency over the last month while featuring in a third-line role. He's at 15 points, 38 shots on net, 36 hits, 20 blocked shots and a plus-9 rating over 35 appearances this season.

Flyers' Noah Cates: Scoring streak continues
Cates scored a goal in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Ducks.
Cates has been one of the hottest players for the Flyers of late, and this win Saturday marked his fifth straight contest finding the back of the net. He's also found the scoresheet in all but one of his last eight appearances, tallying six goals and two assists in that stretch. Cates is up to seven goals and 13 total points across 32 games this season.

Flyers' Noah Cates: Scores again Monday
Cates scored a goal in Monday's 7-3 loss to the Penguins.
Cates' goal streak is up to four games, and he has seven points over his last seven outings. This is arguably the best stretch of his career. He's up to six tallies, 12 points, 31 shots on net, 33 hits and a plus-7 rating through 31 appearances. Cates was moved up to the second line Monday, but until he starts seeing regular power-play time, it's tough to trust that his offense will last.

Flyers' Noah Cates: Keeps rolling with two-point effort
Cates scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 5-4 overtime win over the Blue Jackets.
Cates tied the game at 2-2 at 8:48 of the third period. The teams exchanged a few more goals after that, and Cates was on the ice to feed Owen Tippett for the game-winner 3:30 into overtime. With four goals and two assists over his last six contests, Cates is in the midst of one of the best stretches of his career. The 25-year-old is up to five tallies, six helpers, 30 shots on net and a plus-7 rating over 30 appearances this season. While his recent play is encouraging, his history doesn't indicate an ability to sustain this level of production, especially when he remains in a third-line role.

Flyers' Noah Cates: Goals in back-to-back games
Cates scored a goal on two shots and added two hits in Thursday's 7-3 loss to the Flyers.
Cates has scored in back-to-back contests and has three goals and an assist over his last five games. The 25-year-old was one of two Flyers to finish with a positive plus-minus rating (plus-1) in Thursday's blowout loss. Cates has four goals, five assists, 29 shots on net, 33 hits and a plus-6 rating through 29 appearances in a third-line role this season.

Flyers' Noah Cates: Scores in loss
Cates scored a goal in Wednesday's 6-4 loss to the Red Wings.
Cates has three points over his last four games, including two goals in that span. He won't wow anyone with a third-line role and no power-play time, but he's done enough to routinely stay in the lineup for the better part of two months after being scratched for four of the first five contests of the season. Cates is up to eight points, 27 shots on net, 31 hits, 16 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating over 28 appearances. His spot in the lineup is safe since the Flyers aren't carrying an extra forward.

Flyers' Noah Cates: Tallies opening goal
Cates scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Blue Jackets.
Cates' goal was his first since Nov. 23, and he had just one assist over seven contests between tallies. The 25-year-old typically doesn't score a lot while playing in a third-line role, though he has been able to maintain that spot since Oct. 22. He's up to six points, 22 shots on net, 30 hits, 15 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating through 25 appearances. He does a little bit of everything, but Cates' offense is too limited to help most fantasy managers.

Flyers' Noah Cates: Chips in with helper
Cates notched an assist in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Blues.
Cates has four points over his last nine outings, which is fine production for a bottom-six forward on a low-scoring team. Overall, he has five points, 17 shots on net, 27 hits, 14 blocked shots and a plus-10 rating through 21 appearances. Cates has mostly seen third-line usage lately, and he's been sharp enough defensively to stick in the lineup despite his poor scoring numbers for the year.
