Joseph earned an assist in Tuesday's 4-1 defeat to New Jersey.
Joseph was able to end a five-game pointless streak with his helper, though he remains mired in a six-game goalless streak. Penguins' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Scores in loss
Joseph scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 3-2 loss to Dallas.
Joseph cut the Stars' lead to 3-2 in the third period, beating Jake Oettinger with a wrist shot to traffic. The goal was Joseph's first since Feb. 10, though he now has points in his last three contests. The 23-year-old defenseman has seen his role increase lately with a rash of injuries on Pittsburgh's blueline, and Joseph has taken advantage of the opportunity so far. He's up to five goals and 15 assists with a plus-9 rating through 65 games this season.

Penguins' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Helpers in consecutive contests
Joseph notched an assist in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Avalanche.
With the Penguins missing four regulars on the blue line, Joseph has ascended to a top-pairing role with time on the second power-play unit. It's paying off, as he has an assist in each of the last two contests after going 12 games without a point. The 23-year-old has four goals, 15 helpers, 95 shots on net, 79 hits, 32 blocked shots, 38 PIM and a plus-8 rating through 64 outings. His role will likely shrink a bit once Jeff Petry (upper body), but Joseph should maintain top-four minutes for a while.

Penguins' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Grabs assist in defeat
Joseph registered an assist versus the Senators on Monday.
Joseph ended a 12-game pointless streak with his helper against Ottawa. Since serving as a healthy scratch for three contests in mid-March, the 23-year-old blueliner has been putting plenty of pucks on net with 11 shots over his last four outings. Despite shooting more, the Quebec native hasn't found the back of the net since his two-goal performance versus Anaheim on Feb. 10.

Penguins' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Two helpers against Isles
Joseph notched two assists in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Islanders.
The 23-year-old blueliner has two multi-point performances in the last four games, racking up two goals and five points in those contests, but those are his only points since Jan. 8. With Kris Letang and Jeff Petry both back in the lineup, Joseph's fantasy value is limited, but the 2017 first-round pick is demonstrating he might have some upside in Pittsburgh once the two veterans are out of the picture.

Penguins' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Erupts for three points
Joseph scored twice on four shots, added a power-play assist and went plus-3 in Friday's 6-3 win over the Ducks.
Joseph doubled his goal total for the season with a tally in each of the first two periods. He also set up Kasperi Kapanen's goal. Prior to Friday, Joseph was mired in an 11-game point drought, so this was a highly unexpected burst of offense. The 23-year-old is up to four goals, 11 helpers, 70 shots on net, 62 hits, 28 PIM and a plus-10 rating through 47 appearances.

Penguins' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Picks up helper Sunday
Joseph logged an assist and two shots on goal in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Coyotes.
Joseph has been steady with a larger role lately, picking up a goal and three helpers over his last eight contests. For the season, the 23-year-old blueliner is up to 12 points, 54 shots on net, 47 hits, 18 PIM and a plus-9 rating through 35 appearances. Joseph will likely remain on the third pairing at even strength, but he's earning power-play time with both Kris Letang (lower body/personal) and Jeff Petry (upper body) out.

Penguins' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Scores goal in defeat
Joseph scored a goal on three shots in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Islanders.
Joseph generated the only offense of the night for the Penguins with his 10th point of the season. While the 23-year-old blueliner has become a mainstay in Pittsburgh's lineup this year, he will be hard-pressed to offer more than mid-range fantasy value and probably has an offensive ceiling in the 25-30 point range.

Penguins' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Nets power-play goal Monday
Joseph scored a power-play goal in the Penguins' 2-1 win against Dallas on Monday.
Joseph has a goal and eight points in 25 games this season. This was his 45th career NHL contest, and Joseph has provided two goals on 69 shots, so don't expected many more goals from him in 2022-23. That said, the 23-year-old entered the game averaging 1:01 of power-play ice time. That's not a lot, but it's enough to give him a bit of extra offensive potential.

Penguins' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Garners helper in narrow loss
Joseph delivered an assist in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Hurricanes.
Currently operating on the third defensive pair, Joseph seems to be holding his own. He's produced six assists to complement a plus-7 rating through 19 top-level games. These numbers don't move the needle much in fantasy hockey, but it leaves a lot of room for optimism once Joseph gains more NHL experience. Remember, Joseph was the 23rd overall pick (by Arizona) in 2017, and he has a nice blend of speed and skill to ultimately take on additional power-play responsibilities.

Penguins' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Hands out helper
Joseph put up an assist in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Blackhawks.
Joseph picked up his first point in his last six outings, though he also missed three games with a lower-body injury in that span. The 23-year-old has been limited to a bottom-four role when he's in the lineup, so his chances to produce offense are infrequent. He's done well considering that, earning five assists, 18 shots on net, 20 hits and a plus-8 rating through 15 appearances this season.

Joseph is being evaluated for a lower-body injury he sustained in Wednesday's game versus the Capitals, Taylor Haase of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.
Joseph went absent from the bench in the second period. It's unclear how he was injured, but he can be considered day-to-day ahead of Friday's game against the Maple Leafs. With Jan Rutta (upper body) also injured Wednesday, the Penguins may need to make a roster move to shore up their defensive depth if Joseph and Rutta are both deemed out Friday.

Penguins' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Inks two-year deal
Joseph signed a two-year, $1.65 million contract with the Penguins on Tuesday.
Joseph's deal is one-way in both seasons, so that bodes well for his chances of making the jump to the NHL level. The 23-year-old has picked up five points in 20 appearances across two seasons with Pittsburgh, and he added 33 points in 61 contests with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in 2021-22.
