Williams signed a contract with the Eagles on Thursday, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Williams spent the first four seasons of his career in Cleveland, but his role with the team declined significantly in 2022. He'll likely continue to serve in a depth role in the secondary in Philadelphia, though he could be a valuable special teams contributor.... See More ... See Less

Browns' Greedy Williams: Sidelined in Cincinnati
Williams (coach's decision) is inactive Week 14 against the Bengals. Williams has been used heavily on special teams over the last three weeks, in addition to his role as a backup cornerback. He'll take a seat for the Sunday contest, however, despite the fact he did not show up on the injury report this week.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Greedy Williams: Lands on IR
The Browns placed Williams (hamstring) on injured reserve Friday. Williams had already been ruled out for Week 1, but he'll now be forced to miss at least the first four games of the regular season. In his absence, A.J. Green is expected to step into a larger role in Cleveland's secondary.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Greedy Williams: Shut down for night
Williams (shoulder) won't return to Monday's game against the Steelers, Aditi Kinkhabwala of NFL Network reports. Williams went down with a shoulder injury in the first half of Monday night's matchup, and the team has since announced that he's done for the rest of the night. A.J. Green should see more work at corner as a result.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Greedy Williams: Interception in Week 15 loss
Williams had two tackles, an interception and two passes defensed in Monday's 16-14 loss to the Raiders. Williams made his second pick of the season with just under three minutes remaining and the Browns leading 14-13, giving Cleveland a chance to run out the clock. Unfortunately, the Browns went three-and-out and Las Vegas moved down the field for the game-winning field goal as time expired. Williams played a full game Monday, while Greg Newsome (concussion) was unavailable for a second straight week. With Newsome questionable for Saturday's road contest in Green Bay, Williams could once again get ample playing time Week 16. He has 36 tackles, nine passes defensed, two interceptions and one forced fumble over 13 games.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Greedy Williams: Not playing against New England
Williams (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Patriots, Anthony Poisal of the Browns' official site reports. Williams was a limited participant at practice all week after he aggravated a shoulder injury in Week 9, and as a result, he won't be playing against the Patriots. His absence will likely lead to more snaps for the likes of Herb Miller and perhaps A.J. Green.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Greedy Williams: Questionable against Patriots
Williams (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Williams was a limited participant at practice all week after he aggravated a shoulder injury last week. If he's unable to suit up against New England, Herb Miller would likely see a bump in playing time.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Greedy Williams: Considered day-to-day
Coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday that Williams (shoulder) is considered day-to-day, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports. Williams played just five defensive snaps in Sunday's win over the Bengals before he aggravated a shoulder injury. His status for Sunday's Week 10 tilt against the Patriots could come into focus based on his participation in practice ahead of the game.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Greedy Williams: Ruled out Sunday
Williams (shoulder) has been ruled out to return Sunday at Cincinnati, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Williams had been playing through a shoulder injury in recent weeks but suffered a setback Sunday and won't be returning to action. This means his next chance to feature will come against the Patriots on Nov. 14, and in the meantime, Troy Hill or A.J. Green might see increased snaps.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Greedy Williams: Back on field
Williams (illness) returned to the practice field Thursday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Williams left practice early Wednesday due to heat-related issues, but it looks like he's already back to full form. He'll be able to immediately resume competing with first-round rookie Greg Newsome.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Greedy Williams: Should return for 2021
Williams (shoulder) should return in time for the 2021 season, Andrew Gribble of the Browns' official site reports. Williams injured his shoulder during training camp and was eventually placed on injured reserve in October. Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski said both Williams and safety Grant Delpit (Achilles) should be ready for the next season. "They are just going to continue to rehab and work through those injuries. That is the exciting part for us to get some of those guys back next season," said the coach. Williams should resume his spot as a starting cornerback opposite Denzel Ward.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Greedy Williams: Nerve damage part of injury
Williams revealed that he's suffering from axillary nerve damage in his shoulder, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. The LSU product remains on injured reserve, and a clear timeline for his recovery has yet to be spelled out. Williams has been coping with a shoulder issue since sustaining a practice injury Aug. 24, and he hasn't been able to make a game appearance all season.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Greedy Williams: Remains without return timeline
Williams (shoulder) remains without a return timetable as he deals with nerve damage in his shoulder, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports. Williams has spent the entire season on IR and seems unlikely to return this year. The 2019 second-round pick had 47 tackles as a rookie.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Greedy Williams: Lands on IR
The Browns placed Williams (shoulder) on injured reserve Monday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Williams has yet to suit up this season due to a shoulder injury, which coach Kevin Stefanski deemed a nerve issue. The second-year cornerback won't need surgery, but there's a chance he misses the rest of the season. Williams won't be eligible to return until a Week 10 matchup against the Texans. Terrance Mitchell has been starting at cornerback in his place and is expected to continue that role moving forward.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Greedy Williams: Practices on Monday
Williams (shoulder) returned to practice Monday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. After sitting out practice the last two weeks, it's encouraging that Williams has returned to the team ahead of Week 3's matchup versus Washington. It sounds like Williams has a good chance to return, but it'll be worth monitoring his practice status as the week progresses. However, coach Kevin Stefanski wouldn't commit to Williams starting once he's ready, as Terrance Mitchell has apparently shown enough to possibly retain his starting role, according to Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal.... Browns' Greedy Williams: Suffers injury Sunday
Williams (shoulder) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Steelers, Dale Lolley of DKPittsburghSports.com reports. Williams was forced to exit the contest in the fourth quarter, and it's unclear how he picked up the shoulder issue. As long as the 2019 second-round pick is sidelined, however, look for Terrance Mitchell to be the beneficiary of an increase in snaps during the game.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Greedy Williams: Not expected to play Sunday
Williams (hamstring), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, isn't expected to play, Josina Anderson of ESPN reports. Williams was able to return to practice this week as a limited participant, but it looks like the Browns will keep both him and Denzel Ward (hamstring) out another week.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Greedy Williams: Likely to miss MNF
Williams (hamstring) isn't expected to play in Monday's game versus the 49ers, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Williams and Denzel Ward (hamstring) are on track to miss their third straight game. The Browns' secondary has survived without the two, but it's still a hefty downgrade to TJ Carrie and Terrance Mitchell. Williams will look to shake the injury before Week 6's game versus the Seahawks.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Greedy Williams: Deemed questionable
Williams (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Monday's game versus the 49ers, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Williams didn't practice all week so it's unlikely he'll be able to shake this injury by kickoff Monday at 8:15 p.m. ET. However, the Browns aren't ruling him out completely. Their secondary could be in rough shape for the third straight game since Denzel Ward (hamstring) also missed every practice this week.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Greedy Williams: Won't play Week 4
Williams (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's divisional tilt in Baltimore. As expected, the hamstring injury that kept Williams from practicing all week will sideline him Sunday.
