  • 49ers' Dre Greenlaw: Not near return

Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Greenlaw (Achilles) is not expected to be ready to return from the PUP list until a few weeks after the 49ers' Week 9 bye, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. The linebacker tore his left Achilles' tendon last February in the 49ers' Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs, which means he is roughly eight months removed from the injury. San Francisco will play the Buccaneers on Nov. 10 and Seahawks on Nov. 17 after its bye week, but at this stage, Greenlaw doesn't look to be trending toward a return for either of those contests.

He has yet to resume practicing and remains without a concrete timetable for his return. Greenlaw's first chance to return will come against the Cardinals on Sunday, Oct. 6. In the meantime, expect De'Vondre Campbell and Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles to fill in alongside star middle linebacker Fred Warner (foot).

  • 49ers' Dre Greenlaw: Status up in the air for Saturday

Greenlaw (Achilles) is listed as questionable for Saturday's divisional-round game against the Packers, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Greenlaw is tending to an Achilles injury that sidelined him for the 49ers' regular-season finale, and he was a non-participant during the team's practice Tuesday. The 26-year-old followed this up with back-to-back limited sessions, and he was the only San Francisco player listed as questionable on Thursday's injury report. Greenlaw ranked second on the team in tackles (120) this season behind only 2023 All-Pro Fred Warner (127). Should Greenlaw ultimately sit out again, then Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles and/or Dee Winters will be next in line for increased playing time in the divisional round.

  • 49ers' Dre Greenlaw: Misses Tuesday's practice

Greenlaw (Achilles) didn't participate in Tuesday's practice, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports. Despite the two weeks of rest, it seems as if the 26-year-old linebacker is still dealing with this issue. Greenlaw could very well carry an injury designation into Saturday's affair after Tuesday's DNP, and his practice participation will be something to look out for over the next few days.
