  • Avalanche's Ivan Prosvetov: Sharp in win

Prosvetov stopped 29 of 30 shots in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Flames. The Avalanche built up their lead over the first two periods, and Prosvetov was able to keep the Flames at bay in the third. This was his second win in five outings (three starts) this season. The 24-year-old has allowed just eight goals on 99 shots with a 2-1-0 record, but he'll likely need to string multiple strong performances together before he'd be a threat to carve into Alexandar Georgiev's significant share of the workload as the Avalanche's starter. Expect Georgiev to be between the pipes at home Monday versus the Lightning.

  • Avalanche's Ivan Prosvetov: Will start against Calgary

Prosvetov will protect the home goal versus the Flames on Saturday, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports. Prosvetov has allowed seven goals on 64 shots over his three previous appearances in November. The 24-year-old has seen little playing time while backing up Alexandar Georgiev this season. The Flames are on the second half of a back-to-back after winning 7-4 over the Stars on Friday.

  • Avalanche's Ivan Prosvetov: Shaky in relief

Prosvetov allowed two goals on 14 shots in relief of Alexandar Georgiev in Saturday's 8-2 loss to the Blues. The Blues didn't ease up in the third period, and Prosvetov gave up a pair of goals over the final five minutes. The 24-year-old has made two starts and two relief appearances this season, allowing seven goals on 69 shots. Georgiev has struggled of late, but Prosvetov hasn't shown enough consistency in a backup role to ease some of the starter's heavy burden. The Avalanche are on the road for Monday's game versus the Kraken, a team that scored four times on 22 shots against Prosvetov on Thursday.

  • Avalanche's Ivan Prosvetov: Poor start Thursday

Prosvetov allowed four goals on 22 shots in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Kraken. It was a fairly tight and low-event game, but Prosvetov wasn't able to get the job done. Oliver Bjorkstrand tallied twice and Matty Beniers and Jaden Schwartz added the other two goals. Prosvetov has allowed five goals on 55 shots over his three appearances. The 24-year-old should be back on the bench when the Avalanche host the Blues on Saturday with Alexandar Georgiev likely to be between the pipes.

  • Avalanche's Ivan Prosvetov: Starting against Seattle

Prosvetov will guard the home crease versus Seattle on Thursday, per Jesse Montano of Guerilla Sports. It will be Prosvetov's second start of the season as he stopped 27 shots in a 4-1 win over St. Louis on Nov. 1. The netminder spent the last three seasons in the Arizona system, playing 13 games with the Coyotes and winning four times. Prosvetov was claimed off waivers from the Coyotes before the start of the season and has spent most of his time on the bench watching Alexandar Georgiev handle the bulk of the load. The Avalanche play the Kraken, who have scored 34 goals in 13 games this season.

Prosvetov stopped 27 of 28 shots in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Blues. Prosvetov was good in his first start with the Avalanche. His only other appearance this season came in a relief outing in Pittsburgh last Thursday. The 24-year-old was acquired off waivers from the Coyotes before the season started, but he's seen little playing time with Alexandar Georgiev locked in as the starter. Georgiev will likely get the nod Saturday in Vegas.

  • Avalanche's Ivan Prosvetov: Slated to start vs. Blues

Prosvetov is set to start in Wednesday's home game against St. Louis, Jesse Montano of Guerilla Sports reports. It will be Prosvetov's first career start with the Avalanche, though he stopped five shots in 8:05 of ice time during a relief appearance versus Pittsburgh on Thursday. The 24-year-old goaltender has a 4.03 GAA and an .873 save percentage in 14 career NHL outings. The Blues might be a good opponent for him, though -- St. Louis has averaged just 1.86 goals per game this season.

  • Avalanche's Ivan Prosvetov: Makes Avs debut in relief

Prosvetov stopped all five shots he faced Thursday after replacing Alexandar Georgiev midway through the third period of a 4-0 loss to the Penguins. The 24-year-old saw his first action for Colorado after being claimed off waivers earlier in October, as Georgiev has been outstanding to begin the season. Georgiev wasn't to blame for Thursday's result, but Prosvetov might get his first start of the season anyway in Sunday's road game against the Sabres.

  • Avalanche's Ivan Prosvetov: Claimed off waivers

Colorado claimed Prosvetov off waivers from Arizona on Monday. Prosvetov posted a 16-13-4 record with a 3.06 GAA and a .900 save percentage in 35 contests for AHL Tucson last season. He also posted a mark of 4-3-0 with a 3.98 GAA and an .880 save percentage in seven appearances with the Coyotes during the 2022-23 campaign. Prosvetov's addition will probably result in Justus Annunen being sent to AHL Colorado. The Avalanche were in need of a backup goalie behind Alexandar Georgiev because Pavel Francouz (groin) won't be available for the start of the 2023-24 season.

Contrary to a previous report, Prosvetov won't start Thursday versus the Canucks. The Coyotes announced Prosvetov as the starter during warmups, but it was Karel Vejmelka who began the game in goal. No reason for the switch was provided at the time of the announcement.

  • Coyotes' Ivan Prosvetov: Gives up four goals in loss

Prosvetov allowed four goals on 37 shots in Monday's 4-1 loss to the Kraken. It's an improvement on the eight goals he gave up against the Kraken last Monday in Seattle, but it's still Prosvetov's third loss in his last four games. The 24-year-old netminder has surrendered 23 tallies in that span. It's a bit of a trial by fire playing behind a weak team late in the season, but it could be preparation for Prosvetov to serve as the full-time backup next season. He's at 4-3-0 with a 3.98 GAA and an .880 save percentage in seven NHL contests this season. The Coyotes' season finale is Thursday versus the Canucks.

  • Coyotes' Ivan Prosvetov: Rebounds after tough stretch

Prosvetsov made 25 saves in a 5-4 overtime win over the Ducks on Saturday. The Coyotes had a 3-1 lead by the halfway point of the second period, but Provetsov and his mates couldn't hold the lead. Max Jones fired a perfect snap shot from the slot that top corner bar down over the netminder's glove to move Anaheim ahead 4-3 with less than two minutes to play. Mattias Maccelli bailed him out with the tying goal with 36 seconds left and Barrett Hayton got the winner in OT. Provetsov had come off two horrendous outings where he allowed 15 goals total, so consider this a rebound of sorts.
