Dugger and the Patriots agreed Sunday on a four-year, $58 million deal, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. According to Rapoport, Dugger's contract is worth up to $66 million and contains $32.5 million guaranteed. Earlier in the offseason, New England placed its transition tag on Dugger, but the tag merely served as a placeholder until the 28-year-old safety was able to work out a longer-team deal with the Patriots. Dugger turned in his best season yet in 2023, appearing in all 17 of the Patriots' games while logging 109 tackles, 1.5 sacks, seven passes defensed, two interceptions and one forced fumble.... Patriots' Kyle Dugger: Will receive transition tag
The Patriots will place the transition tag on Dugger, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reports. Per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, by placing the transition tag (worth $13.81 million) on Dugger, the Patriots retain the right to match any free agent offers the starting safety might receive. In 17 games during the 2023 regular season, the 2020 second-rounder recorded a career-high 109 tackles, including 1.5 sacks, to go along with two interceptions.... See More ... See Less -
Patriots' Kyle Dugger: Good to go
Dugger (undisclosed) is available for Sunday's tilt verus the Bills. Dugger was considered questionable for Sunday's tilt, but he is ultimately feeling good enough to play through it. Look for him to take on his usual role at strong safety assuming he avoids any setbacks.... See More ... See Less -
Patriots' Kyle Dugger: Set to play Sunday
Dugger (toe) is active for Sunday's contest against the Raiders. Dugger was given the questionable tag after he was limited at practice Thursday and Friday. He's tied with linebacker Ja'Whaun Bentley with the most tackles on the team with 36.... See More ... See Less -
Patriots' Kyle Dugger: Questionable for Sunday at Raiders
Dugger (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Las Vegas. Dugger was limited at practice Thursday and Friday after apparently sustaining a foot injury at practice during the week, so it seems like there's a 50-50 chance he'll play in Week 6. If he can't go, Adrian Phillips could draw the start at strong safety Sunday.... See More ... See Less -
Patriots' Kyle Dugger: Great in loss
Dugger recorded 15 tackles (12 solo), one tackle for loss and one hit on the quarterback during Sunday's 38-3 loss to Dallas. Dugger now leads New England in tackles through four weeks, as he doubled his season total this past Sunday. The 27-year-old will have an opportunity to continue making big plays for a defense that's in need of playmaker, as the Patriots saw both Matthew Judon and Christian Gonzalez go down with injuries this weekend.... Patriots' Kyle Dugger: Scores three touchdowns
Dugger finished the 2022 season with 78 tackles (50 solo), one sack, three interceptions, and a fumble recovery while scoring three touchdowns in 15 games. Dugger had the best season of his young career despite missing two games with an ankle injury, as he led the NFL with three defensive touchdowns. The 26-year-old also finished third on the team in interceptions. Patriots' Kyle Dugger: Listed as questionable
Dugger (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against Indianapolis. Dugger missed last week's game against the Jets due to an ankle injury and was limited at practice all week ahead of Sunday's Week 9 matchup. If he's unavailable for a second consecutive week, Jabrill Peppers and Joshuah Bledsoe would be in line for increased playing time.... See More ... See Less -
Patriots' Kyle Dugger: Makes strides in coverage
Dugger finished the 2021 regular season with 92 tackles and four interceptions in 15 games. The 2020 second-rounder produced at a rate that led to a degree of fantasy utility and is slated to remain a key cog in the Patriots' secondary next season. Per Paul Perillo of the team's official site Dugger, who is signed through 2023, made strides in coverage in his second year (as a pro), but he still has some room for growth in his game in terms of overall consistency.... Patriots' Kyle Dugger: Limited to open week
Dugger (hand) was estimated as a limited participant at Tuesday's walkthrough. The 25-year-old did not play in Week 18 against the Jets after being unavailable for practice all week with a hand injury. Dugger's limited estimation bodes well for his chances to play Saturday versus Bills, though his status the rest of the week will give a clearer indication.... See More ... See Less -
Patriots' Kyle Dugger: Listed as questionable
Dugger (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against Jacksonville. Dugger was a full participant in practice Wednesday and Thursday, but he was limited by a hamstring issue Friday. Adrian Phillips (knee) and Justin Bethel could see additional work Sunday if Dugger is unavailable.... See More ... See Less -
Patriots' Kyle Dugger: Records six tackles in win
Dugger notched six tackles (four solo) during Sunday's 27-24 win over the Chargers. After registering 27 tackles and two interceptions across his previous three contests, Dugger's performance Sunday was lackluster. Nevertheless, the 25-year-old safety has now recorded at least six tackles in six of eight games this season, which provides the second-year pro a solid fantasy floor. Dugger remains worth IDP consideration, particularly in deeper leagues.... See More ... See Less -
Patriots' Kyle Dugger: Solid tackling effort
Dugger made seven tackles -- one for a loss -- in Sunday's 17-16 loss to the Patriots. Dugger jumped Adrian Phillips on the depth chart during training camp. Expect Dugger to continue working with the first unit at strong safety Thursday night.... See More ... See Less -
Patriots' Kyle Dugger: Listed as limited participant
Dugger (toe) was a limited participant on Monday's practice estimate. This injury has bothered Dugger for a couple of weeks, and he hasn't missed any time. The rookie second-rounder is expected to be fine for Thursday's game against the Rams as long as he avoids a setback.... See More ... See Less -
Patriots' Kyle Dugger: Good to go Monday
Dugger (ankle) is active for Monday's game versus the Jets. The rookie is returning to duty after two weeks on the sidelines. Dugger logged a 42 percent snap share, or higher, in three of the four games before his injury, and a similar role can be expected in this primetime matchup. He may return kicks as well because J.J. Taylor (illness) is out.... See More ... See Less -
Patriots' Kyle Dugger: Maintains limited participation
Dugger (ankle) was a limited participant in Friday's practice, Zack Cox of NESN.com reports. This was Dugger's second limited session of the week. He was limited throughout all of last week but was ultimately inactive against the Bills, so this isn't necessarily an indication of his status. If he's forced to sit out again, J.J. Taylor (illness) should slot in at kick returner if healthy, while Terrence Brooks sees an uptick in snaps at safety.... See More ... See Less -
Patriots' Kyle Dugger: Out with ankle injury
Dugger (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Phil Perry of NBC Sports Boston reports. The rookie second-round pick has played a rotational role in the second this year and could have been a factor in coverage against George Kittle, but the Patriots will have to utilize their other options. Terrence Brooks could see increased work with Duggar sidelined Week 7.... See More ... See Less
