Dolphins' Cam Smith: Could miss multiple weeks
Smith (shoulder) could miss two weeks, according to head coach Mike McDaniel, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports. Smith's recovery timeline is ultimately in a "gray area," according to McDaniel, but he's not expected to be out long term. The South Carolina product was working to earn a starting job at cornerback, but with the recent addition of Eli Apple, coupled with this injury, he may have to begin the 2023 campaign in a reserve role, assuming he is fully recovered by Week 1.... Dolphins' Cam Smith: Heading to South Beach
The Dolphins selected Smith in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 51st overall. Smith was Miami's first draft pick this year, showing that despite the Jalen Ramsey addition, the Dolphins wanted more corner help. The boundary spots are locked down in Miami, but Smith is still projected to push for playing time. He broke up 14 passes in 2021 for South Carolina and tested well at the combine, especially on the jumps.
