Hyde (hamstring) was a full participant at practice Friday and does not carry an injury designation ahead of Sunday's game at the Commanders. Hyde picked up a hamstring injury during Buffalo's win versus Las Vegas in Week 2, but he's apparently already put it past him before the Bills' matchup at Washington in Week 3. He'll resume his regular starting role at safety next to Jordan Poyer.... See More ... See Less

Bills' Micah Hyde: Dealing with hamstring injury
Hyde left Sunday's win over the Raiders early due to a hamstring injury. Hyde recorded five tackles (two solo) before exiting. The Bills were in command nearly all game long, so Hyde's departure may have been precautionary.... See More ... See Less -
Bills' Micah Hyde: Full participant Friday
Hyde (back) was listed as a full participant in Friday's walk-through practice. Hyde had been limited with a back injury Thursday. The starting safety's return to full participation means the Bills are fully healthy ahead of Monday's season opener against the Jets, outside of players placed on injured reserve or the PUP list prior to the start of the season.... Bills' Micah Hyde: Limited at practice Thursday
Hyde (back) was a limited participant at practice Thursday ahead of Monday night's Week 1 game at the Jets, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports. The issue with his back apparently just cropped up within the last few days, but it's evidently not severe enough to keep Hyde off the field entirely. It's possible Buffalo is just playing things safe with the veteran Pro Bowler, who missed 15 full regular-season games and two postseason contests in 2022 due to a neck issue. However, if the back injury proves severe enough to keep him out Week 1, it could clear a path for Damar Hamlin to start.... See More ... See Less -
Bills' Micah Hyde: Dealing with new injury
Hyde (back) won't practice Wednesday, Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News reports. Hyde's injury is something that popped up in the last couple of days, according to head coach Sean McDermott. With the Bills traveling to New York for a Week 1 matchup with the Jets on Monday, the veteran safety will have an extra day to recover from the injury before Buffalo holds its first official practice of the regular season Thursday. If Hyde is unable to suit up, it could leave Damar Hamlin in a position to get a Week 1 start.... See More ... See Less -
Bills' Micah Hyde: Ruled out for divisional round
Hyde (neck) won't play in Sunday's divisional-round matchup against Cincinnati, Michael Giardi of NFL Network reports. As expected, Hyde will remain out for back-to-back games to start the postseason with a neck injury that has kept him on injured reserve since Week 2. The Bills did open his 21-day practice window ahead of wild-card weekend, but it's unclear if he'll be able to play again this season. Dean Marlowe figures to start at free safety alongside Jordan Poyer against Joe Burrow and the Bengals' terrific passing attack.... See More ... See Less -
Bills' Micah Hyde: Ruled out for wild-card round
Hyde (neck) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Dolphins, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports. Head coach Sean McDermott said Friday that Hyde will not be available for this weekend's game versus Miami, and he will also remain out next week if the Bills advance. The safety has been on injured reserve since late September after sustaining a neck injury, and although his 21-day practice window has been opened, there's no guarantee he will return at any point in the postseason.... Bills' Micah Hyde: Undergoes successful surgery
Hyde (neck) recently underwent successful surgery to repair a herniated disc and is facing a 6-to-9-month recovery timeline, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. After being placed on injured reserve Sept. 24, Hyde will miss the remainder of the season while he recovers from surgery, which is expected to stabilize his neck moving forward. The 31-year-old will likely be available for most of next year's training camp, if not all of it, barring any setbacks. In his absence, Damar Hamlin will continue to operate as the Bills' starting free safety.... See More ... See Less -
Bills' Micah Hyde: Officially on IR
Buffalo placed Hyde (neck) on its injured reserve list Saturday. Hyde is expected to miss the remainder of the 2022 season with a neck injury he sustained in Week 2, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. At the very least, he'll now be required to miss at least the next four weeks. With the Bills' other starting safety, Jordan Poyer (foot), now also dealing with an injury, safeties Jaquan Johnson and Damar Hamlin will be asked to take a major step up moving forward.... Bills' Micah Hyde: Expected to miss season
Hyde's agent announcement Saturday that the Bills will place Hyde (neck) on injured reserve and noted that the safety is on track to miss the rest of the 2022 season, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The Bills have yet to confirm that Hyde is shut down for the season, but his expected absence is a major blow to the Buffalo secondary. Hyde and teammate Jordan Poyer (foot) -- who is questionable for Sunday's game in Miami -- are one of the league's best safety tandems, and Hyde is quarterback what's been an excellent defense. Jaquan Johnson is reportedly the next man up and will get an audition by fire against the Dolphins on Sunday, while the Bills will presumably start looking at their practice squad or the free-agent market for additional help at the position.... Bills' Micah Hyde: Ruled out for Week 3
Hyde (neck) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Miami, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Hyde didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday, so it's not surprising to see him ruled out. Jordan Poyer (foot) also could end up sitting out Week 3 after missing Thursday's practice, so Jaquan Johnson and Damar Hamlin are both on deck for increased roles against Miami's new-look passing attack that diced up Baltimore's secondary Week 2.... See More ... See Less -
Bills' Micah Hyde: Still not practicing Thursday
Hyde (neck) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN reports. Hyde has missed consecutive practices to begin the week, which doesn't bode well for his potential availability Sunday against the Dolphins. The starting free safety will have one more opportunity to get on the practice field Friday, while backup safeties Jaquan Johnson and Damar Hamlin could be thrust into action if Hyde and/or Jordan Poyer (foot) end up sitting out in Week 3.... See More ... See Less -
Bills' Micah Hyde: Leaves Monday's contest
Hyde left Monday night's game against the Titans due to a neck injury, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports. The Bills are blowing out the Titans, but it's going to come with a cost, as a handful of key players have suffered injuries throughout the night. Even if Hyde's injury is minor, there's almost no chance he'll be returning to such a lopsided game. Hyde's status for the Week 3 divisional battle in Miami is of greater importance for the team.... Bills' Micah Hyde: Big game in big win
Hyde posted six tackles and two interceptions in Sunday's win over the Patriots. The interceptions put Hyde up to five on the season, tied with Jordan Poyer for the team lead. Both players sit inside the top 20 among safeties in standard IDP scoring, boosted by Buffalo's aggressive defense, one that focuses on trying to generate turnovers.... See More ... See Less -
Bills' Micah Hyde: Ready to go for Week 2
Hyde (neck) is not listed on the Bills' injury report ahead of Sunday's contest with the Dolphins, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Hyde was limited in practice Thursday and Friday with a neck injury, but he appears good to go for Sunday. The veteran safety registered six tackles and one pass defensed in the opener against the Steelers.... See More ... See Less -
Bills' Micah Hyde: Clears concussion protocol
Coach Sean McDermott said Friday that Hyde has cleared the league's concussion protocol, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Hyde was a full participant in Thursday's practice, so it looks like he's all set to slot into his usual starting role at safety during Sunday's game against the Seahawks. His presence across from Jordan Poyer will be key as Buffalo looks to accomplish the tall task of slowing down Russell Wilson.... See More ... See Less -
Bills' Micah Hyde: Out for Week 8
Hyde (concussion) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Patriots, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports. Hyde obviously could not clear the concussion protocol in time, while Dean Marlowe and Jaquan Johnson will now see more work against New England. The Bills also have a few hybrid types who can help backfill Hyde's normal duties, though, to be clear, his loss is a notable one for a Buffalo defense that's already struggled at times in 2020.... See More ... See Less -
Bills' Micah Hyde: Questionable for Sunday
Hyde (concussion) did not practice for the third straight day Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots. Coach Sean McDermott hasn't ruled Hyde out yet, so we suppose he'll have one more shot to clear the final stage of the concussion protocol. The starting safety is familiar enough with the scheme that, if cleared, he could handle a full workload without any practice time.... See More ... See Less -
Bills' Micah Hyde: Another missed practice
Hyde (concussion) missed practice for the second straight day Thursday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports. Hyde still has time to work his way through the league-mandated protocol and suit up for Sunday's game against New England, though if he can't go, it will be a big loss for the Bills -- he forms one of the league's better safety tandems with Jordan Poyer.... See More ... See Less -
Bills' Micah Hyde: Upgrades to limited
Hyde (ankle) practiced on a limited basis Thursday after missing Wednesday's session. The starting free safety is trending in the right direction after missing some important action during the Week 3 win over the Rams. He's one of the team's better defensive players, so Buffalo will surely hope he's out there to face the Raiders and Derek Carr, a veteran who's been surprisingly effective to date this season....
