Nedeljkovic played well with Grand Rapids, and he should return to a backup role in Detroit behind Ville Husso.... See More ... See Less

Red Wings' Alex Nedeljkovic: Recall date TBD
Nedeljkovic, who's on a conditioning assignment with AHL Grand Rapids, permitted four goals on 25 shots in Friday's 4-0 loss to Iowa. The Red Wings have yet to decide exactly when they will recall the backup goaltender, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Based on this latest report, the Wings might keep Nedeljkovic in the AHL through Monday; otherwise, he'll rejoin the parent club ahead of a three-game road trip that starts in Colorado that same day. Nedeljkovic's AHL performance Friday was uninspiring, and the Wings want to make sure he's focused and properly conditioned after watching him struggle to a 4.09 GAA and .880 save percentage through nine top-level games. Magnus Hellberg is the temporary No. 2 behind Ville Husso for Detroit.... See More ... See Less

Red Wings' Alex Nedeljkovic: Rough patch deepens
Nedeljkovic made 26 saves in a 5-1 loss to the Panthers on Thursday.
The first period was tight, but a breakaway goal by AHL call-up Chris Tierney came late and set the table for two quick goals within 58 seconds early in the second split the game open. Nedeljkovic's last win came November 6 against the Rangers and he now is 2-4-2 with a 4.09 GAA and .880 save percentage. We suggest you consider other options when you see him dressed and in the net, at least until he recaptures some of last season's solid play.... See More ... See Less
Red Wings' Alex Nedeljkovic: Starting versus Panthers
Nedeljkovic will guard the road goal versus the Panthers on Thursday, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.
Nedeljkovic hasn't won since Nov. 6, though that's mostly been due to a lack of playing time. Ville Husso has often served as the starter lately, including each of the last three games. Nedeljkovic has given up eight goals in his last three appearances (two starts), and he'll be up against a Panthers team that's getting Aleksander Barkov (illness) back in the lineup.... See More ... Red Wings' Alex Nedeljkovic: Comes up short in shootout
Nedeljkovic allowed four goals on 34 shots in Wednesday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Sabres.
Nedeljkovic probably should have had the Sabres' first two goals, but there was little he could do about the other two. The 26-year-old was bailed out by his offense in the third period, but he allowed Jack Quinn to net the only tally in the shootout. In his last four starts, Nedeljkovic has given up 18 goals, and his performance Wednesday wasn't a convincing case for more playing time. He's at 2-3-2 with a 3.97 GAA and an .880 save percentage through eight appearances. He may not have to wait long for another start -- the Red Wings host the Golden Knights on Saturday and then visit the Blue Jackets on Sunday, with the latter of those games being the more favorable matchup.... Red Wings' Alex Nedeljkovic: Tending twine Wednesday
Nedeljkovic will patrol the blue paint against the Sabres at home Wednesday, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Nedeljkovic hasn't started for the Wins since Nov. 12 against the Kings, though he did come on in relief versus Toronto on Monday. In that outing, the 26-year-old netminder stopped all 12 of the shots he faced after coming on for Ville Husso. It would likely take several strong performances by Nedeljkovic to supplant Husso as the preferred option between the pipes.... See More ... See Less
Red Wings' Alex Nedeljkovic: Perfect in relief
Nedeljkovic turned aside all 12 shots in relief during Monday's 4-2 loss to the visiting Maple Leafs.
Nedeljkovic, who made his first appearance since Nov. 12, could be in line to start Wednesday's home matchup against the Sabres after starter Ville Husso (four goals on 13 shots) stumbled against the Maple Leafs on Monday. Red Wings' Alex Nedeljkovic: Not good in LA
Nedeljkovic allowed four goals on 21 shots in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Kings.
Nedeljkovic has now given up four or more goals in four of his six outings this year. He's 2-3-1 with a 4.33 GAA and an .873 save percentage after this latest dud. Nedeljkovic has done little to earn a larger share of playing time over Ville Husso (2.54 GAA, .920 save percentage). In a backup role, Nedeljkovic's fantasy value is limited to deeper formats.... Nedeljkovic will face the Kings, who are 9-6-1 and in second place in the Pacific Division, having scored 52 goals in their 16 contests.... See More ... See Less

Nedeljkovic stopped 27 of 29 shots during a 3-2 overtime win over the Rangers on Sunday.
Nedeljkovic turned in the performance he needed to prevent Ville Husso (1.86 GAA) from running away with the early season goalie competition. The 26-year-old Nedeljkovic entered Sunday winless in his past three decisions, compiling a 4.96 GAA. After falling behind 2-0 on Sunday, Nedeljkovic (2-2-1) silenced the Rangers' offense for the final 45:47, earning his first win since Oct. 15.... See More ... See Less
Red Wings' Alex Nedeljkovic: Scheduled to start Sunday
Nedeljkovic will start in goal Sunday versus the Rangers, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
The Red Wings will start Ville Husso against the Islanders on Saturday for the first half of the back-to-back set, which affords Nedeljkovic a prolonged break after the Sabres blitzed him to the tune of eight goals on 46 shots this past Monday. Considering the Blueshirts have recorded the fourth-most shots this season (421), the Wings will need to tighten up defensively and better support Ned, who's off to a poor start based on an .871 save percentage and 4.96 GAA through four contests.... Red Wings' Alex Nedeljkovic: Left out to dry in loss
Nedeljkovic allowed eight goals on 46 shots in Monday's 8-3 loss to the Sabres.
The game didn't really get out of hand until the latter half of the third period, so head coach Derek Lalonde left Nedeljkovic in for the whole contest. Considering Ville Husso won his last start, a 2-1 victory over the Wild, this was not the type of performance Nedeljkovic needed to maintain what's been close to a 50-50 split of playing time. The 26-year-old is now 1-2-1 with 20 goals allowed in four outings. Expect Husso to get the nod for Thursday's home game versus the Capitals.... See More ... See Less
