Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Looks like fit on second line
Bertuzzi scored a goal Saturday in a 3-2 loss to the Penguins.
Bertuzzi scored from the right post on a rebound following a John Tavares shot at 3:59 of the first period. He has found a home on the Leafs second line with William Nylander and Tavares, and he looks more comfortable with each passing game. Bert brings some fantasy value, but not as much as one would think. His edgy game is tailor made for the postseason, but he doesn't ring up the number of hits or PIM as you would think. Bertuzzi's fantasy merit will rise if he continues to build chemistry on the second line, but he needs to covert more at even strength. He has three goals and six points in his past seven outings.

Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Two points in Friday's win
Bertuzzi scored a goal on a team-high seven shots on net and added an assist in Friday's 3-2 win over the Red Wings.
He also supplied two hits, two PIM and a plus-2 rating. With the Maple Leafs down 2-0 early in the third period, the 28-year-old winger got the comeback started by tapping home a slick feed from William Nylander. In fact, the line of Nylander, Bertuzzi and John Tavares accounted for all three Toronto goals and eight points in total. Bertuzzi has produced back-to-back multi-point performances, and after a sluggish start to his tenure in blue and white he's got three goals and seven points in his last 11 games.

Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: First multi-pointer of season
Bertuzzi picked up two apples in a 5-2 win over the Canucks on Saturday.
The first one was a primary helper on Matthew Knies' first-period goal. Bertuzzi then got a secondary helper on William Nylander's second-period snipe. It's his first multi-point effort this season. Bertuzzi has taken some heat this season for appearing to be disengaged and struggling to find a fit in blue and white. But he has three points (one goal, two assists) in his last three games, so perhaps he's turning the corner.

Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Snaps slump with tally
Bertuzzi scored at even strength in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Senators.
Bertuzzi's ice time has been volatile as he's struggled in his first season with the Maple Leafs. He's lit the lamp just three times and has a single helper between 13 games, but Bert also tied William Nylander with a game-high five shots Wednesday, which likely only complicates matters for fantasy mangers that had grown impatient with the former. Bertuzzi's best season took place in 2021-22, when he sniped his way to 30 goals and added 32 assists for the Red Wings, but the Leafs are using him in the defensive zone more often than he was in Detroit, or even his 22 games in Boston last season.

Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Feels better Friday
Bertuzzi (undisclosed) was feeling better Friday and expects to play Saturday versus Tampa Bay, Mark Masters of TSN reports.

Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Five shots in debut with new team
Bertuzzi picked up four PIM and fired five shots in a 6-5 shootout win over the Canadiens on Wednesday.
He was a busy man in his Maple Leafs debut, but he couldn't find twine in 14:39 of ice time. Bertuzzi has a key role on the Leafs' top line, so the points should come once he settles into his new city.

Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Opens camp with Marner and Matthews
Bertuzzi has opened training camp on the Maple Leafs' top line with Auston Matthews and Mitchell Marner, reports the Toronto Sun.
It's early and things always change as camp progresses, but Bertuzzi's ability to dig the puck out and then crash the net to hammer in rebounds is the perfect style for his high-skill linemates. The trio has been skating at the practice facility over the past few weeks, but Thursday was the group's first public appearance together at camp. "I want to create space for those guys, bring energy," Bertuzzi said. "(Net front), that's where I'll be." Toronto media has already started calling the line the MAT Pack. The 6-foot-2, 200 pound winger's fantasy value will be the highest it has ever been if this gig sticks.

Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Lands with Leafs
Bertuzzi signed a one-year, $5.5 million contract with Toronto on Sunday.
Bertuzzi generated 30 points in 50 games between Detroit and Boston last season after recording 30 goals and 32 assists in 68 contests for the Red Wings during the 2021-22 campaign. He should fit in nicely as a top-six forward with the Leafs, granting him valuable exposure to Auston Matthews or John Tavares.
