Kane (hip/knee) will miss the remainder of the regular season, the Oilers announced Friday. Kane hasn't played at all in 2024-25, but he still might be an option for the playoffs. Kane had 24 goals, 44 points, 85 PIM and 250 hits in 77 regular-season appearances in 2023-24. If the 33-year-old is able to return during the playoffs, then he might serve in a middle-six capacity, though rust would be a concern after missing so much time.... See More ... See Less

Oilers' Evander Kane: Resumes skating
Kane (hip/knee) started skating Thursday, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports. Kane is reportedly going at about 60 percent and will require weeks of ramping up. He hasn't played since Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals versus the Panthers in June. The winger underwent surgery to repair two hip adductor muscles, two hernias and two torn lower abdominal muscles in September and a knee surgery in January, so he's been through a lot without playing this season and may face an uphill battle to get back in the lineup once healthy.... Oilers' Evander Kane: Undergoes knee surgery
Kane (hip) had knee surgery Thursday and will be sidelined for another 4-8 weeks. At this point, the earliest Kane might be able to return would be after the February break for the 4 Nations Face-Off, but that would be on the low end of his newly established timeline. The 33-year-old winger hasn't played since June 10 against the Panthers, having missed all of 2024-25 thus far following offseason hip surgery. Even once cleared to play, Kane figures to have significant rust to shake off, so fantasy players, especially in re-draft formats, may not want to jump on the Kane bandwagon immediately.... Oilers' Evander Kane: Moves to LTIR
Kane (hip) was put on long-term injured reserve Tuesday. After undergoing surgery Sept. 20 to repair two torn hip adductor muscles, two hernias and two torn lower abdominal muscles, Kane will be out until the calendar flips to 2025. Still, there is no exact timetable for his return. He produced 24 goals, 44 points, 220 shots on net and 250 hits in 77 regular-season contests in 2023-24. The Oilers signed Viktor Arvidsson and Jeff Skinner in the summer as top-six replacements.... See More ... See Less -
Oilers' Evander Kane: Out indefinitely following surgery
Kane (hip) underwent surgery in New York City on Friday to address multiple injuries sustained from playing through a sports hernia last season and isn't expected to play in the 2024 calendar year, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. According to Derek Van Diest of NHL.com, Kane told reporters Wednesday that he needed to undergo procedures to repair two torn hip adductor muscles, two hernias and two torn lower abdominal muscles. The 33-year-old forward doesn't have an exact timeline for his return, per Friedman, but Kane isn't expected to be available until January or February. Kane could start the 2024-25 campaign on long-term injured reserve to save the Oilers some cap space. He generated 24 goals and 44 points in 77 regular-season contests in 2023-24. Edmonton signed Jeff Skinner and Viktor Arvidsson in the summer as top-six replacements.... See More ... See Less -
Oilers' Evander Kane: Surgery confirmed
Kane (hip), as expected, is set to have surgery as confirmed by general manager Stan Bowman, per Bob Stauffer of the Oilers Radio Network on Wednesday. Kane was previously reported to be heading under the knife before the end of September, and it seems that timeline remains intact. Until the procedure happens, it's hard to know how long Kane will be on the shelf, but fantasy managers can almost certainly anticipate he'll be out of action until at least November at a minimum. As a result, Kane should land on LTIR once the season kicks off.... See More ... See Less -
Oilers' Evander Kane: Undergoing surgery by end of month
Kane (hip/sports hernia) will undergo surgery within the next 10 days, Mark Spector of Sportsnet reports Friday Kane's recovery timeline won't be known until after the surgery, but it's safe to assume the operation will cost him part of the regular season. If he is unavailable for the first month, the 33-year-old winger will be a candidate for long-term injured reserve. Vasily Podkolzin could get a chance at being a regular in the Oilers' lineup while Kane is out.... See More ... See Less -
Oilers' Evander Kane: Dealing with hip injury
Kane has been dealing with a hip issue but there has not yet been a decision on whether or not he'll need surgery, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports. Kane missed the final five games of the Stanley Cup Finals but was reportedly working through an abdomen injury at the time. The veteran winger scored eight points in 20 postseason contests after scoring 24 goals and 44 points during the regular season. The team will likely have a better idea on his outlook over the coming weeks.... See More ... See Less -
Oilers' Evander Kane: Available for Monday
Kane (abdomen) is available for Game 7 on Monday against Florida, but head coach Kris Knoblauch did not clarify whether or not he'd be in the lineup, per TSN. Kane hasn't played since Game 2, and the Oilers have forced a Game 7 after being down 3-0 in the series. At the moment, it's unclear if the Oilers will want to adjust the lineup to fit Kane back in after they've caught fire. He produced a minus-4 rating in two games against the Panthers and has eight points with a minus-7 rating this postseason.... See More ... See Less -
Oilers' Evander Kane: Out for Game 6
Kane (abdomen) will not play Friday against the Panthers, Bob Stauffer of the Oilers Radio Network reports. Kane was considered a game-time call but will miss his fourth straight contest. His status for a potential Game 7 on Monday is unclear at this time.... See More ... See Less -

Kane (abdomen) skated at morning practice Thursday, but his status for Game 6 versus Florida on Friday is up in the air, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports. Kane, who has missed the last three games with the injury, skated on the fifth line at practice and never had an opportunity to play with the regulars. Kane has four goals, four assists and 47 PIM in 20 playoff games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Oilers' Evander Kane: Still out Tuesday
Kane (abdomen) won't play in Tuesday's Game 5 versus the Panthers, Derek Van Diest of NHL.com reports. Kane was considered possible for this contest, but he'll ultimately need to miss a third straight game. If the Oilers win Tuesday, he may be available for Friday's Game 6. Kane has four goals, eight points and 37 PIM in 20 playoff appearances this year.... See More ... See Less -
Oilers' Evander Kane: Possible for Game 5
Kane (abdomen) is a possibility for Game 5 against Florida on Tuesday, per Tracey Myers of NHL.com. Kane will travel with the Oilers to Florida, and the team will evaluate his health ahead of Tuesday's contest. The 32-year-old forward has missed the last two games due to a sports hernia. Kane has generated four goals, four assists, 44 shots on net, 37 PIM and 64 hits in 20 outings this postseason.... See More ... See Less -

Warren Foegele is slated to occupy a spot in the top-six group should Kane be unavailable to play.... See More ... See Less -
Oilers' Evander Kane: Unavailable Thursday
Kane (hip) is expected to miss Game 3 against the Panthers on Thursday, per Greg Wyshynski of ESPN. Kane has four goals, eight points, 37 PIM and 64 hits in 20 playoff outings this year. Corey Perry and Derek Ryan, who were both healthy scratches for Game 2 on Monday, are projected to draw back into the lineup Thursday. Sam Carrick is slated to miss Thursday's game after logging 7:31 of ice time in Edmonton's last contest, but unlike Kane, it's believed Carrick's absence is due to a coach's decision.... See More ... Oilers' Evander Kane: Questionable for Thursday
Kane (hip) is questionable for Game 3 against Florida on Thursday, per Dan Rosen of NHL.com. Kane has four goals, eight points, 37 PIM and 64 hits in 20 playoff contests this year. Oilers' Evander Kane: Grabs helper in win
Kane logged an assist in Friday's 3-1 win over the Stars in Game 5. Kane snapped a five-game point drought when he assisted on a Philip Broberg tally in the second period. The 32-year-old Kane has generally been more consistent in the postseason, though he has just eight points over 17 contests. He's added 61 hits, 35 PIM, 44 shots on net and a minus-3 rating while filling a middle-six role.... See More ... See Less -

The winger is at seven points, 28 shots, 41 hits, 31 PIM and a minus-1 rating through 11 playoff contests.
