The Raiders hosted a visit with Harris on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Las Vegas waived Harris with an injury settlement in mid-August, but he's apparently back to full health given his visit with the team Friday. Prior to signing with the Raiders in the offseason, Harris had spent three campaigns with Kansas City, and he tallied a career-high 43 tackles (23 solo), including 1.5 sacks, over 17 contests last year.... Raiders' Darius Harris: Lands on injured reserve
Harris (undisclosed) reverted to injured reserve Sunday. Harris will now miss the 2023 campaign unless he reaches an injury settlement with the team. That will likely depend on the severity of the injury, which is currently unclear. The 27-year-old had been working to earn a role in Raiders' linebacker corps after spending the first three seasons of his career in Kansas City.... See More ... See Less -
Darius Harris: Let go with injury designation
The Raiders (undisclosed) waived Harris with an injury designation Saturday. After spending three years with the Chiefs, Harris opted to stay in the AFC West and signed with the Raiders this offseason. The 27-year-old was competing for a roster spot before suffering the undisclosed injury. If Harris clears waivers, he'll revert to the Raiders' injured reserve and be forced to miss the entire 2023 campaign, barring an injury settlement.... See More ... See Less -
Darius Harris: Officially an URFA
Kansas City didn't extend Harris a qualifying offer or tender as a restricted free agent Wednesday, so he's officially an unrestricted free agent, Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star reports. Harris appeared in all 17 of the Chiefs' regular-season contests in 2022 and totaled 43 tackles, 1.5 sacks, one pass defense and one fumble recovery across 278 defensive snaps. The undrafted linebacker out of Middle Tennessee proved capable of solid tackle production when given an expanded role, posting 29 stops during a four-game stretch (Weeks 3-6), but he played primarily on special teams the rest of the season.... Chiefs' Darius Harris: Double digits in tackles
Harris logged 10 tackles (eight solo) and one sack during Week 5's 30-29 win over the Raiders. Harris notched his first NFL sack during the narrow Week 5 win over Vegas. The linebacker has really stepped up as the team's starting weakside linebacker as Willie Gay remains suspended until Week 7 against the Niners. The 26-year-old will look to continue the momentum in Sunday's matchup against the Bills.... See More ... See Less -
Chiefs' Darius Harris: Leads team in tackles
Harris recorded 13 tackles (seven solo) in the team's 20-17 loss to the Colts on Sunday. Harris was called upon to step up with Willie Gay serving a four-game suspension. It was the second most snaps Harris has played in his three-year career, and his 13 stops topped his previous best of 10 combined tackles. He should continue to play a large role on the Chiefs' defense until at least Gay returns, including Sunday against the Buccaneers.... See More ... See Less -
Chiefs' Darius Harris: Not on injury report
Harris isn't on Kansas City's injury report ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Browns. Harris sustained a hand injury early in the preseason, but the issue won't impact his availability for the season opener Sunday. He appeared in just four games during the 2020 campaign and will serve as depth early in 2021.... See More ... See Less -
Chiefs' Darius Harris: Elevates to 53-man roster
Harris was promoted to the 53-man roster from the practice squad by the Chiefs on Wednesday. Harris was vying for a roster spot during training camp, however, he failed to make the opening week roster. The 24-year-old has never suited up in regular-season NFL action, and he'll look to add depth at the linebacker position for Week 4 if he suits up.... See More ... See Less -
Chiefs' Darius Harris: Vying for roster spot
Harris (undisclosed) will be ready to compete for a roster spot during Kansas City's training camp, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports. Harris spent his entire rookie season on the NFI list. He'll at least have the advantage of having had a full year to pick up Kansas City's system as he competes for a depth role at linebacker.... See More ... See Less -
Chiefs' Darius Harris: Spends rookie season on NFI list
Harris (undisclosed) spent the entire 2019 regular season on the reserve/non-football injury list. Harris would have been eligible to be activated from the NFI list as early as Week 6 if healthy, but the Chiefs opted to keep him on reserve for the entire 2019 campaign. He's working to recover from an undisclosed injury sustained during his final college season with Middle Tennessee.... See More ... See Less
