  • Browns' Isaiah Thomas: Sitting out finale

Thomas (foot) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Steelers, Anthony Poisal of the team's official site reports. Thomas will now miss his fifth game in the last nine weeks as a result of a foot issue. The rookie hasn't maintained any on-the-field consistency this year, and Alex Wright and Chase Winovich are both slated to continue operating as rotational pieces on Cleveland's defensive line behind starters Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney on Sunday.

  • Browns' Isaiah Thomas: Could play this week

Thomas (hand) is expected to practice this week and potentially be available for Saturday's preseason game against the Bears, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said Thomas, who has been wearing a cast on his right hand/lower arm, could play with it if it's padded.

The Browns selected Thomas in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 223rd overall. Thomas isn't exactly small at 6-foot-5, 266 pounds, but he is a tad skinny and lacks reach by defensive end standards (33 and 1/4-inch arms). That's the bad news, but the good news is Thomas has noticeable speed (4.7-second 40) and was productive for Oklahoma the last two years, generating at least eight sacks and double-digit tackles for loss each year.
