Ebukam recorded three tackles (one solo) in Saturday's 23-19 loss versus the Texans. Over 17 games this year, Ebukam recorded 57 tackles (39 solo), including 9.5 sacks and three forced fumbles. Although he couldn't quite reach the double-digit threshold, his sack total in 2023 was a career high. He currently figures to start on the edge again for the Colts come Week 1 of the 2024 season.... Colts' Samson Ebukam: Gets back in sack column
Ebukam recorded three tackles (two solo) including 1.5 sacks in Saturday's 30-13 win versus the Steelers. A ferocious bull rush straight through the pads of left tackle Dan Moore all but sealed Indianapolis' victory in Week 15. Ebukam now has a sack in three of his last four games and is on pace for the first double-digit sack season of his career.... See More ... See Less -
Colts' Samson Ebukam: Season-high tackles in win
Ebukam recorded six tackles (five solo), including two sacks, while also forcing a fumble in Sunday's 31-28 overtime win over the Titans. Ebukam registered a season-high six takedowns while getting to Will Levis twice for a pair of sacks in the victory. Since the team's Week 11 bye week, the defensive end has compiled 10 tackles, including four sacks, while forcing two fumbles over the last two games.... See More ... See Less -
Colts' Samson Ebukam: Gets third sack
Ebukam had three total tackles, including a sack, in Sunday's win over Tennessee. Ebukam had a big game as a pass rusher, which was needed with Kwity Paye out with a concussion. Ebukam has 16 total tackles, including three sacks, in five games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Colts' Samson Ebukam: Sits out practice Saturday
Ebukam did not participate in training camp practice Saturday due to a hamstring injury, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports. This marks the second day in a row that Ebukam has sat out practice, per Erickson, though the exact nature of his hamstring issue is still unclear. The 28-year-old defensive end was a consistent role player for the 49ers over the past two seasons, and he's also been particularly healthy for much of his six-year career, missing the first two regular-season games of his career just last season. When available, the Colts should look for Ebukam to bolster the team's pass-rushing corps, which includes two largely unproven third-year defensive ends in Dayo Odeyingbo and Kwity Paye.... 49ers' Samson Ebukam: Hurts ankle Saturday
Ebukam injured his ankle during Saturday's 41-23 wild-card win against the Seahawks, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Coach Kyle Shanahan noted Ebukam may have been able to return if the game was close, but the defensive end finished with no stats to speak of. Considering Shanahan's comment, Ebukam's status for the divisional round likely isn't in question, but his practice reps nonetheless will be monitored as the week goes on.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Samson Ebukam: No injury designation for Week 8
Ebukam doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's matchup against the Rams, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. Ebukam was unable to practice Wednesday due to an Achilles injury he picked up during the team's Week 7 loss to the Chiefs, but he was able to log a limited session Thursday and was upgraded to a full participant Friday. Across seven appearances, the sixth-year defensive end has totaled 26 tackles, 3.5 sacks and one forced fumble across 261 defensive snaps.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Samson Ebukam: Back at practice Thursday
Ebukam (Achilles) was listed as a limited participant on the 49ers' injury report Thursday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. Ebukam sat out practice Wednesday with an Achilles injury that first arose following San Francisco's Week 5 win over Carolina. The defensive end was also limited in practice last Thursday and Friday before suiting up against the Falcons on Sunday, so he could be following a similar practice schedule in Week 7. Nevertheless, it will be worth monitoring Ebukam's status on the 49ers' final injury report ahead of this Sunday's contest against Kansas City.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Samson Ebukam: Returns in limited fashion
Ebukam (Achilles) was a limited participant during the 49ers' practice Thursday, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports. Ebukam suited up in Week 5 after being listed as questionable due to a hamstring injury, though he did not practice Wednesday due to a new Achilles issue. While the exact nature and severity of this injury are still unclear, the 27-year-old's ability to practice again in any capacity is an encouraging sign for his availability against Atlanta on Sunday. Ebukam has totaled 14 tackles and 3.5 sacks while playing 173 of his 188 snaps on defense this season, and his presence in Week 6 could prove particularly important after fellow pass rusher Nick Bosa (groin) missed his second consecutive practice Thursday.... 49ers' Samson Ebukam: Doesn't practice Wednesday
Ebukam didn't practice Wednesday due to an Achilles injury, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. Ebukam dealt with a hamstring injury ahead of Week 5, but he still suited up and recorded two tackles across a season-high 45 defensive snaps. However, he appears to have picked up an Achilles issue during the contest as well. The extent of the situation remains unclear, but if he doesn't return to practice Thursday or Friday, Ebukam will be in jeopardy of missing Week 6.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Samson Ebukam: Misses practice Wednesday
Ebukam (hamstring) did not participate in the 49ers' practice Wednesday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Ebukam was forced to miss most of August with a knee injury but has been relatively healthy for the month of September. The severity of the linebacker's hamstring injury is uncertain at this point, but Arden Key likely would take over Ebukam's depth role if he can't play Sunday at Arizona.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Samson Ebukam: Off injury report
Ebukam (knee) isn't listed on the 49ers' injury report Wednesday. Ebukam has been dealing with a knee injury for most of August, but he is finally off the injured list ahead of San Francisco's season opener against the Lions. Ebukam will likely fill a depth role in the opener if he remains healthy.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Samson Ebukam: Dealing with swelling in leg
Coach Kyle Shanahan said Sunday that Ebukam has been sidelined in practice recently due to swelling in his leg, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports. Shanahan compared Ebukam's injury to normal wear and tear players experience early in training camp, but the team has elected to give him some rest as a precautionary measure. Although the 2017 fourth-rounder doesn't appear to be facing a long-term absence, it's not yet clear whether the injury will impact his availability for Saturday's exhibition game against the Chiefs.... Rams' Samson Ebukam: Notches 4.5 sacks again
Ebukam managed 31 tackles (18 solo), 4.5 sacks, one pass breakup and one forced fumble across 16 games in 2020. Ebukam has now logged back-to-back seasons with 4.5 sacks. The 25-year-old has been a dependable contributor in Los Angeles' linebacker corps over the last four years, though he's enjoyed a large enough role to carry real fantasy value in IDP leagues. Next, Ebukam is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in March.... See More ... See Less -
Rams' Samson Ebukam: Absent from injury report
Ebukam (knee) wasn't on the team's injury report for Wednesday's practice, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports. The third-year pro was expected to be worked in slowly this offeseason as he recovered from offseason knee surgery. Now fully healthy, Ebukam should have a role in the defense for 2019, after starting 14 of 16 games at outside linebacker for the Rams last season. Ebukam is listed as a second-string linebacker on the depth chart, but should see time on both defense and special teams for Week 1.... See More ... See Less -
Rams' Samson Ebukam: Recovering from knee surgery
Ebukam is recovering from a minor knee surgery and likely will be brought along slowly this spring, Gary Klein of The Los Angeles Times reports. The 2017 fourth-round pick started 14 of 16 games at outside linebacker in his second pro season, notching 40 tackles (25 solo), three sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and an interception. It sounds like Ebukam will be healthy before the start of training camp, but he may face some competition for a starting job after the Rams signed Clay Matthews to a two-year, $9.25 million contract. It's also possible the Rams use Matthews and Ebukam as their starting OLBs, with Dante Fowler then coming off the bench to focus on rushing the passer. Regardless of how it shakes out, each of the three players should have an important role in Wade Phillips' 3-4 defense.... See More ... See Less

Stephen Holder@HolderStephen5D agoWord here at NFL owners meetings is the Colts’ proposal to allow reviews of all calls — including penalties — in the final 2 mins of halves has stalled and has minimal traction. Of note: The origin of the idea stems from an Oct. loss to Cleveland when a PI call decided the game.
