Omenihu's six-game suspension was lifted Oct. 13 and he's been added to Kansas City's active roster ahead of Sunday's game against the Chargers, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports. The 26-year-old was arrested for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic violence back in January of 2023. Omenihu is expected to make his first appearance for the Chiefs this Sunday after the team signed him to a two-year, $16 million contract this offseason, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. Throughout his five-year NFL career, Omenihu has recorded 67 total tackles, 11.5 sacks and 11 tackles for loss.... See More ... See Less

Chiefs' Charles Omenihu: Sitting out practice
Omenihu (calf) did not practice Thursday, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports. Omenihu's injury details are unclear, but he'll remain sidelined until he's fully healed. The 25-year-old is poised to take on a significant role in the Chiefs' defensive-line rotation, but he'll now need to focus on his recovery so that he can return to the field.... See More ... 49ers' Charles Omenihu: Arrested Monday
Omenihu (oblique) was arrested Monday at his home in San Jose on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic violence, Robert Salonga of The San Jose Mercury News reports. He was booked into Santa Clara County jail after police were called to his home, where a woman claiming to be the 25-year-old defensive end's girlfriend told the arriving officers that she was pushed to the ground during an argument. Omenihu was released from jail after posting bail, and the 49ers confirmed in a statement Tuesday that they were aware of the incident and still in the process of gathering further information on the matter. Omenihu, who played 16 snaps in Sunday's win over the Cowboys in the divisional round, picked up an oblique injury during the contest and is uncertain to be available for this weekend's NFC Championship Game in Philadelphia.... 49ers' Charles Omenihu: Dealing with oblique injury
Omenihu is considered day-to-day with an oblique injury, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. Omenihu didn't record any counting stats across 16 snaps (15 defensive) during the 49ers' divisional-round win over Dallas, and he appears to have suffered an oblique injury during the contest as well. His participation at practice Wednesday through Friday may provide further clarity on his availability for Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Eagles.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Charles Omenihu: Lower-body injury
Omenihu is nursing a lower-body injury and is absent from practice Thursday, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson reports. Coach David Culley said Omenihu isn't expected to be out long, but he was noncommittal about the defensive end's chances of returning by next week. That being the case, it can be expected that Omenihu will sit out Saturday's exhibition matchup against the Packers.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Charles Omenihu: Ready for Week 11 return
Omenihu (leg) is active for Sunday's matchup against New England. The 2019 fifth-round draft choice sat out Houston's Week 10 road loss to the Browns, marking his first missed game of the campaign. The Texas product dressed for 14 contests as a rookie, and he's continued to fill an important rotational role on defense in his sophomore season as well. Omenihu has logged two sacks this season while fielding a workload of 29.5 defensive snaps per game, and he has at least one QB hit in seven straight appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Charles Omenihu: Highly questionable for Sunday
Omenihu (leg) is considered questionable for Sunday's game versus the Browns. Omenihu didn't practice all week, so it's tough to see a path to play this weekend. The Texans believe he has a chance, however, and we'll know the final verdict about 90 minutes before Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. If he's forced to sit out, Carlos Watkins could pick up some extra reps at defensive end.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Charles Omenihu: Suffers leg injury
Omenihu is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Jaguars with a leg injury. Omenihu registered one hit on the quarterback before exiting during the first half. Carlos Watkins should see more work as a rotational defensive end in his absence.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Charles Omenihu: Makes one big play
Omenihu had one tackle, a sack, in Sunday's 31-24 win over the Chiefs in Week 6. Omenihu made his one tackle count. Not only did it produce a sack, he stripped Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes of the ball, which was recovered by Bernardrick McKinney, putting the Texans in business at Kansas City's three-yard line with 23 seconds left in the first half. One play later, Deshaun Watson scrambled for a touchdown, giving Houston a lead entering the break. His normal role is to occupy blockers and let guys like J.J. Watt and Whitney Mercilus get to the quarterback, but the 2019 fifth-round pick out of Texas has recorded two sacks and forced two fumbles.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Charles Omenihu: Officially questionable
The Texans have listed Omenihu (knee) as questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Panthers. Omenihu was limited at practice all week and appears to be trending toward a game-time decision. In the event that he is unable to suit up, look for Carlos Watkins to see an increased workload providing depth at defensive end.... See More ... See Less
