  • Browns' Kyle Lauletta: Rejoining Browns

Lauletta was signed by the Browns off the Jaguars' practice squad Friday, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports. Lauletta spent training camp with Cleveland but failed to make the season-opening roster, but he'll rejoin the team with Baker Mayfield and Case Keenum in the COVID-19 protocols following positive tests. Nick Mullens lines up to start against the Raiders on Saturday with Lauletta filling the No. 2 role, assuming Mayfield and Keenum are unable to quickly clear the protocols.

  • Kyle Lauletta: Joins Jaguars' practice squad

The Jaguars signed Lauletta to their practice squad Thursday, John Feid of Florida Times-Union reports. The Jaguars traded Gardner Minshew to the Eagles and kept only Trevor Lawrence and C.J. Beathard on their initial 53-man roster, so they went out and added Lauletta as an emergency quarterback to their practice squad. Jacksonville got a good look at the 26-year-old as he threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns for the Browns against the Jaguars during both teams' preseason opener Aug. 14.

  • Browns' Kyle Lauletta: Gets bulk work in opener

Lauletta completed 19 of 27 passes for 212 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 23-13 win over the Jaguars in preseason Week 1. As the third quarterback on the depth chart, Lauletta got the bulk of the work Saturday after Case Keenum played the first three series -- starter Baker Mayfield did not play. While Lauletta engineered three scoring drives, including two that ended in touchdowns, he's the clear No. 3 and may not suit up for most games in 2021.

  • Kyle Lauletta: Joins Browns' practice squad

The Browns signed Lauletta to the practice squad Friday. Lauletta, a 2018 fourth-round pick of the Giants, will now get an opportunity to further his pro development with the Browns. The move comes shortly after the Cowboys signed quarterback Garrett Gilbert off Cleveland's practice squad.

  • Kyle Lauletta: Let go by Falcons

The Falcons released Lauletta from the practice squad Tuesday, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports. The Falcons still have QB Kurt Benkert on the practice squad, and he'll be the primary practice squad option behind Matt Ryan and Matt Schaub. Lauletta hasn't played since 2018 when he failed to complete a pass on five attempts for the Giants.

  • Kyle Lauletta: Moves to practice squad

The Falcons signed Lauletta to the practice squad Sunday, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports. Lauletta was waived by the team after just three days of practice, but he'll stick on the practice squad. QB Kurt Benkert is also on the practice roster, so if Matt Ryan or Matt Schaub go down, it's unclear who will be called up.

  • Kyle Lauletta: Cut quickly in Atlanta

The Falcons waived Lauletta on Saturday, Will McFadden of the team's official site reports. Lauletta signed Wednesday and faced long odds to make the team as the No. 3 QB behind Matt Ryan and Matt Schaub. However, he could be a dependable practice squad quarterback, so look for him to sign if he clears waivers.

  • Falcons' Kyle Lauletta: Earns deal with Atlanta

Lauletta signed a contract with the Falcons on Wednesday. Lauletta worked out for the team Sunday with three other quarterbacks, and, as evidenced by this news, the Richmond product emerged victorious. Lauletta appeared in two games during his lone season with the Giants in 2018, throwing one interception and completing no passes on five attempts. The 25-year-old will compete with Matt Schaub and Kurt Benkert for backup duties behind Matt Ryan with the 2020 season looming.

  • Kyle Lauletta: Getting a look from Atlanta

Lauletta was among a group of three quarterbacks who attended a tryout with the Falcons on Sunday, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. The former Richmond Spider and fourth-round draft choice of the Giants is competing with Jake Rudock and Kyle Sloter for a potential roster spot, or a role on the practice squad. Lauletta appeared in two games during his lone season in the Meadowlands in 2018, throwing one interception and completing no passes on five attempts. He competed on the Eagles' practice squad last year, but now he'll look to join a backup committee in Atlanta as the team prepares to cut down its active roster to 53 players by the Saturday deadline.

  • Kyle Lauletta: Let go by Philly

The Eagles waived Lauletta on Monday, Mike Kaye of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. Lauletta spent the 2019 campaign on Philadelphia's practice squad and subsequently signed a reserve/future contract following the season. He was looking to compete for a reserve role under center, but the team ultimately has opted to let him go. He'll now be free to find a new opportunity.

  • Kyle Lauletta: Gets practice squad call

Lauletta went unclaimed on waivers, and agreed to a contract with the Eagles' practice squad Sunday, Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia reports. The former 2018 fourth-round pick became expendable after the team elected to role with Daniel Jones and Eli Manning at quarterback. Lauletta grew up in the Philadelphia area, so he'll get a chance to compete for a roster spot and impress the coaches of his hometown team.

  • Giants' Kyle Lauletta: Recovering from knee surgery

Lauletta underwent a "minor" procedure on his knee this offseason, Ryan Dunleavy of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. Selected in the fourth round of the 2018 draft, Lauletta's rookie season was notable for all the wrong reasons. Along with an inability to get on the field in the midst of continued struggles by Eli Manning, Lauletta was arrested in October and eventually pled guilty to a disorderly persons offense and two other charges. If he avoids legal issues through January 2020, Lauletta will have all three charges expunged from his record. Where he stands on the Giants' quarterback depth chart will be notable as the team proceeds with offseason maneuvering. Manning remains on the roster, Alex Tanney re-signed Monday, and another signal-caller could join the fray via free agency or the draft over the next two months.

  • Giants' Kyle Lauletta: Settles legal situation

Lauletta plead guilty Tuesday to a disorderly persons offense and two other charges stemming from his Oct. 30 arrest in Weehawken, N.J., Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. There's no telling if Lauletta would have seen the field more as a rookie with Eli Manning going through the motions, but this brush with the law likely didn't help his case. Per Raanan, Lauletta will have all three charges dropped if he avoids any additional legal issues over the next 12 months. From a football standpoint, if Manning is retained and another QB is brought in via free agency or the draft, Lauletta's roster spot for the 2019 campaign could be in jeopardy as the Giants work their way through the offseason program, training camp and the preseason slate.

  • Giants' Kyle Lauletta: Receives three charges

Lauletta was charged with eluding police, obstructing administration of law and resisting arrest Tuesday, SNY.tv reports. Arrested in Weehawken, N.J. en route to the Giants' facility Tuesday, Lauletta was cited after failing to obey directions from a police officer and almost striking him with his vehicle. This is apparently Lauletta's second such transgression in as many days. As a 2018 fourth-round pick, his spot on the Giants' 53-man roster is safe, but it could impact the team's decision-making in the event it decides to bench the disappointing Eli Manning at some point. The only other quarterback on the team is journeyman Alex Tanney.
