Ronald Blair: Restored to Jets' practice squad
Blair (undisclosed) has been restored to the Jets' practice squad after a stint on the team's practice squad injured list. Blair has been dealing with a number of injuries during his six-year stint in the NFL. The defensive end hasn't played in a regular-season game since 2019. Expect Blair to continue to fill a depth role and remain on the Jets' practice squad for the remainder of the season, barring any injuries to the Jets' defensive line.... See More ... See Less -
Ronald Blair: Hits practice squad IR
The Jets placed Blair (undisclosed) on the practice squad injured list Thursday, Ethan Greenburg of the team's official site reports. Jets' Ronald Blair: Exits with hamstring injury
Blair exited Saturday's preseason win over the Packers with a hamstring injury, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports. The severity of Blair's injury isn't yet known, and it's unclear whether the issue will impact his availability for Friday's preseason finale against the Eagles. The 28-year-old defensive lineman joined the Jets in June after he missed the 2020 campaign due to a torn ACL.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Ronald Blair: Let go by San Fran
The 49ers released Blair (knee) on Friday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. After missing the entirety of the 2020 campaign due to a torn ACL, Blair will leave San Francisco and aim to play elsewhere once recovered. The 28-year-old has proved he can provide depth for a team's defensive line when healthy, recording 36 tackles and 5.5 sacks during a career-best 2018.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Ronald Blair: Resumes running in rehab
Blair (knee) posted a video on his personal Instagram account of him running while participating in rehab activities. Blair is working to recover from a torn ACL sustained in November, so it's encouraging to see that he's already progressed enough to participate in sprinting drills. It remains to be seen whether the 49ers will attempt to re-sign Blair prior to the start of the new league year March 18, at which point he's scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent.... 49ers' Ronald Blair: Tears ACL
Blair was diagnosed Tuesday with a torn ACL in his right knee and has been ruled out for the season, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports. Coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed what many had feared after the 26-year-old had to leave Monday's loss to the Seahawks. He finishes the season with 21 tackles (14 solo), three sacks and a fumble recovery.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Ronald Blair: Returns from IR
The 49ers activated Blair (thumb) off of injured reserve Saturday. Blair was placed on injured reserve at the end of the preseason with a nagging thumb injury, and was given one of the 49ers' two return designations from IR earlier this week. It's unclear at this point exactly what role the 24-year-old will play in the team's defensive line rotation, but he could see a decent snap count against the Cardinals on Sunday given the numerous injuries sustained by the defensive unit.... Rich Cimini@RichCimini14H agoRe: #Jets at 10: * This is one of the tougher years to project because I could see them moving up (to 8?) or moving down several spots. If they move up, I suspect it would be for Nabers or Odunze. * If 4 QBs. 3 WRs, 1 OL and 1 defensive player go in the top 9, the Jets are…
