Smith has agreed to a one-year contract with the Jets on Friday, Josina Anderson of CBS Sports reports. Smith spent his first 13 seasons with the Cowboys and established himself as one of the league's best offensive tackles. Offensive line was a weakness for the Jets in 2023, but Smith's addition will help improve the unit. The veteran tackle is now projected to protect Aaron Rodgers' (Achilles) blind side in the upcoming season.... See More ... See Less

Cowboys' Tyron Smith: Unlikely to re-sign with Dallas
Smith, a pending unrestricted free agent, is unlikely to return to the Cowboys, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Smith has spent 13 seasons in Dallas since the team selected him in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft, and he played at a stellar level during the 2023 season after two injury-plagued years in 2020 and 2022. Concerns of age and injury still linger for the 33-year-old left tackle, but if Smith indeed hits free agency, he shouldn't lack for suitors from teams around the league in need of reliable protection.... Cowboys' Tyron Smith: Cleared to play Saturday
Smith (back) is active for Saturday night's game against the Lions. Smith returns to the lineup to protect Dak Prescott's blind side after missing Week 16. Cowboys' Tyron Smith: Could return Week 17
Smith (back) logged a limited practice session Thursday and is officially questionable to play against Detroit on Saturday, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. A back injury kept Smith out of Sunday's Week 16 loss to Miami, but the left tackle has a chance to return Saturday versus Detroit. Smith appears to be making some progress toward playing, as he was a limited practice participant Thursday after sitting out Wednesday and being deemed a DNP for Tuesday's walkthrough. If Smith is unable to suit up Saturday, however, Chuma Edoga would presumably start for the second straight week.... See More ... See Less -
Cowboys' Tyron Smith: Unlikely to play Week 16
Smith (back) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Bobby Belt of 105.3 The Fan Dallas reports. Smith was unable to log a practice session this week, and it looks like he will miss Sunday's contest. If he's unable to play, Chuma Edoga figures to move up into the starting left tackle spot.... Cowboys' Tyron Smith: Dealing with back injury
Smith (back) didn't practice Wednesday, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Smith has sat out practices for rest purposes from time to time this season, but Wednesday's DNP was attributed to a back issue. The left tackle played all 57 offensive snaps for Dallas in Sunday's loss to Buffalo, so it's unclear when the injury occurred or how severe it is. Smith has been one of the league's top offensive linemen this season, so it would be a big blow if the back issue prevented him from suiting up Sunday in a tough battle against the Dolphins.... Cowboys' Tyron Smith: Full go Friday
Smith (illness) was a full participant in Friday's practice, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. The All-Pro offensive lineman recorded DNPs during practice Wednesday and Thursday after coming down with an illness, but it now seems that he's been able to move past the issue. Expect Smith to continue holding down the left side of Dallas' offensive line this Sunday.... See More ... See Less -

Smith (neck) is questionable for Sunday's game against Philadelphia, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Smith missed last week's win over the Rams and opened Week 9 prep with a pair of DNPs. However, he was able to return to practice in limited fashion Friday, giving him a chance to suit up for Sunday's key NFC East battle. Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy suggested Friday that Smith's status should be determined Saturday, saying of the left tackle, "He's projected to practice tomorrow. When we walk off the field, we'll make that decision," per Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News.... See More ... See Less -

Smith (neck) is inactive Week 8 against the Rams, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports. Smith (knee) was a nonparticipant at the Cowboys' practice Wednesday, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Head coach Mike McCarthy initially stated that Smith would be limited Wednesday, but he ultimately ended up sitting out practice. The left tackle's absence was reportedly "non-injury related" and for rest purposes. Regardless of why Smith was unable to participate, the 32-year-old has missed the last two games and he'll look to return to practice prior to the end of the week.... See More ... See Less -
Cowboys' Tyron Smith: Will not play Sunday
Smith (knee) is inactive Sunday against the Patriots, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports. Smith was reportedly ruled out earlier Sunday, according to Archer, but his inclusion on the team's inactive list will make it official. Chuma Edoga will likely draw the start in his place, while Smith will work to return Week 5 against the 49ers.... See More ... See Less -
Cowboys' Tyron Smith: Questionable for Week 3
Smith (knee) was added to the Cowboys' injury report Saturday and is now questionable for Sunday's contest against the Cardinals, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports. Smith was able to play the first two games of the seasons after overcoming an ankle injury he sustained at the end of training camp. He did not appear on the injury report all this week, so his appearance on Saturday's report indicates a recent injury. The severity of Smith's injury is currently unknown, though if he's ruled out for Week 3, Chuma Edoga would slot in on the offensive line.... See More ... See Less -
Cowboys' Tyron Smith: Active for SNF

Smith (ankle) is listed as questionable going into Sunday's contest against the Giants, Patrik Walker of the Cowboys' official site reports. The All-Pro tackle was a limited participant during both Thursday and Friday's practices after rolling his ankle Thursday. If Smith were to miss Sunday's game, Dallas would most likely be without two of their starting linemen, as Tyler Smith (hamstring) is also listed as doubtful.... See More ... See Less -
Cowboys' Tyron Smith: Making good progress
Smith (ankle) participated in Dallas' mock game Friday ahead of Sunday's game at the Giants, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Smith was lining up as the team's starting left tackle at mandatory minicamp after having knee surgery earlier in the offseason. Cowboys' Tyron Smith: Gets minor knee surgery
Cowboys team owner Jerry Jones said Wednesday that Smith recently underwent surgery to address a minor knee issue, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports. Smith was sidelined for Dallas' first 13 games of the 2022 campaign as a result of the avulsion fracture he sustained in his left knee during training camp. It's likely that his most recent surgery was just a follow-up procedure to clean up any leftover concerns from his previous injury. He'll now aim to make a full recovery by the time the Cowboys' offseason program rolls around.... See More ... See Less
