On Friday, the media predicted the order of finish for each SEC division along with the projected conference champion. Media members also voted on the conference's first, second and third-team offensive, defensive and special teams units.

Surprise! Alabama, the overwhelming favorite to win the SEC in 2017, leads the pack with 10 first-team selections across all three areas. That's a SEC preseason record. For reference, Alabama held the previous records with nine first-team picks in 2011 and eight in 2010. Florida also had eight first-team picks in 2009.

Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Hurts, receiver Calvin Ridley, defensive linemen Da'Ron Payne and Da'Shawn Hand, and defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick highlight the first-team selections. In all, the Crimson Tide have 16 selections in the preseason media teams.

Georgia, the preseason favorite to win the SEC East, had four first-team picks. Below are the first-team selections, followed by the second and third teams. Total points are in parenthesis.
