Evans had two assists, including one on the penalty kill, along with one shot on net and one blocked shot over 17:05 of ice time in Thursday's 6-2 win over Washington. Evans, who won 12-of-20 faceoffs, won a draw in the offensive end that led to Joel Armia's shorthanded strike. He later won a puck battle to feed Mike Hoffman for the Canadiens' final goal with 18 seconds left. Evans has six assists over the last seven games.... See More ... See Less

Canadiens' Jake Evans: Extends assist streak
Evans had an assist over 15:17 of ice time in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Panthers. Evans and rookie Sean Farrell broke out of the zone and played pass before the rookie sank the first goal of his career. The helper extended Evans streak to four consecutive games with an assist. Farrell, who skated on the second line in his NHL debut Tuesday, was moved to the third line, which has been hot of late. Brendan Gallagher had scored in three straight before Farrell extended the unit's streak. The common bond in all the goals was Evans.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Jake Evans: Points in three straight
Evans had an assist, two shots on goal, one hit and one blocked shot over 15:06 of ice time in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Flyers. Evans misfired on a shot attempt, but the puck landed on the stick of Rafael Harvey-Pinard in front of open side of the net. It was the third straight game with a helper for Evans, who has 14 points (two goals) over 47 games.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Jake Evans: Logs assist in win
Evans had an assist and three shots on goal over 16:44 of ice time in Monday's 4-3 shootout win over the Sabres. Evans picked up the primary helper on Brendan Gallagher's game-tying tally, which led to the overtime and shootout periods. It was his second consecutive contest with an assist on a Gallagher goal. It didn't take long for Evans to knock the rust off of a 28-game absence due to a lower-body injury.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Jake Evans: Returns to action
Evans had two shots on goal, two blocked shots and four penalty minutes over 11:58 of ice time in Thursday's 4-2 loss to Boston. Evans was back on the ice for the first time since Jan. 14 after recovering from a lower-body injury. He centered the third line, between Rem Pitlick and Brendan Gallagher, while dominating the faceoff circle, winning five of seven draws.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Jake Evans: Activated from injured reserve
Evans (lower body) has been activated from injured reserve, according to the NHL media site. Evans last played Jan. 14 against the Islanders. He has two goals and 11 points in 43 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Jake Evans: Could return Thursday
Evans (lower body) may be available versus the Bruins on Thursday, Arpon Basu of The Athletic reports. Coach Martin St. Louis didn't go so far as to confirm Evans would be in the lineup against Boston and the winger still needs to be activated off injured reserve but all signs point to him suiting up Thursday. If he does get onto the ice, the 26-year-old Toronto native figures to slot into a third-line role but could see time with one of the power-play units.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Jake Evans: Will miss 8-10 weeks
Evans will be sidelined for 8-10 weeks with his lower-body injury. Evans will be sidelined until mid-March at a minimum. Rem Pitlick will likely continue to skate in a bottom-six role until Evans or Sean Monahan (lower body) is ready to return. Evans has collected 11 points through 43 contests this season.... Canadiens' Jake Evans: Lands on injured reserve
Evans (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday. Evans was not in the lineup versus the Rangers on Sunday and now is facing a longer stint on the shelf due to his designation for injured reserve. In his last five outings before getting hurt, the 26-year-old winger registered four points while dishing out 11 hits. With several other players going on injured reserve, both Rem Pitlick and Rafael Harvey-Pinard were called up from the minors.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Jake Evans: Won't play against Rangers
Evans (lower body) won't play Sunday against the Rangers. Evans was injured in Saturday's contest versus the Islanders. He has provided 11 points, 42 shots on goal, 30 blocks and 22 hits in 43 games this season. The Canadiens will put Mike Hoffman and Michael Pezzetta in the lineup. Chris Wideman will be a healthy scratch.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Jake Evans: Exits game with lower-body injury
Evans won't return to Saturday's game against the Islanders because of a lower-body injury. Evans logged 7:04 of ice time before exiting the contest. Before Saturday's game, he had two goals and 11 points in 42 outings this season. It remains to be seen if he'll be an option for Sunday's game against the Rangers.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Jake Evans: Scores in win
Evans scored a goal on three shots and added two hits over 19:13 of ice time in Thursday's 4-3 win over Nashville. Evans glided in from the neutral zone to beat Yaroslav Askarov to the stick side -- one the goalie would probably like to have back -- for just his second goal of the season. He's picked up his offense of late with four points over the last four games and earned a promotion to the second line and more TOI.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Jake Evans: On hot line
Evans had two assists and two shots on goal over 19:09 of ice time in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Blues. The reconstituted third line struck twice for Montreal and has three goals in the last two games. Evans was the primary helper on both of Joel Armia's goals, and linemate Evgenii Dadonov also helped. Evans has three assists the last two games and is expected to continue in the same role after spending much of the season on the fourth line.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Jake Evans: Logs assist in loss
Evans had an assist, four hits and two blocked shots over 15:37 of ice time in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Rangers. Evans led a rush into the New York zone leading to a Joel Armia tally. He snapped a four-game run without a point and now has eight over 39 contests. Evans mostly skates on the fourth line but was given third-line minutes Thursday.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Jake Evans: Secures rare PP tally
Evans scored a goal on three shots during a 4-2 loss to the host Stars on Friday. Evans, who scored his first marker in 34 games this season, converted with two seconds left during a first-period power play. The 2014 seventh-round draft pick ended a prolonged slump by the Canadiens, who entered Friday 1-for-30 on the man-advantage over their previous nine matchups. It was Evans' first power-play point in 166 career games. Evans, who collected 13 goals in 72 games last season, previously scored during the regular-season finale against the Panthers on April 29.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Jake Evans: Helps on lone goal
Evans had an assist, one shot on goal and one blocked shot over 14:24 of ice time in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime loss to Colorado. Montreal's fourth line produced a rare goal just 1:48 into the contest. Evans fed Anthony Richard in the neutral zone, and the recent AHL callup cruised between two Avalanche defenders to pocket his first NHL goal. The three members of Wednesday's fourth line -- Evans, Richard and Joel Armia -- had a combined zero goals entering the game. The assist was Evans' sixth in 33 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Jake Evans: Gathers assist in loss
Evans had an assist, two shots on goal and two hits over 16:53 of ice time in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to Ottawa. Evans chased down a loose puck in the Senators' zone before slipping a behind-the-back pass to Kirby Dach for Montreal's first goal. It was just the fifth assist of the season for Evans, but his third in the last five games. He was recently promoted from the fourth to third line and now skates with Juraj Slafkovsky and Josh Anderson.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Jake Evans: Assists in back-to-back games
Evans produced an assist and blocked two shots in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Kraken. As expected, Evans picked up extra ice time to make up for Sean Monahan (lower body) being out of the lineup. Evans saw a season-high 16:29 of ice time and picked up an assist for his second straight game. In that stretch, he's doubled his season point total to four helpers in 26 contests. He also sports a minus-9 rating, 24 shots on net, 22 blocked shots and nine PIM in a bottom-six role.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Jake Evans: Nabs helper in overtime loss
Evans produced an assist in Monday's 7-6 overtime loss to the Canucks. Evans hasn't been able to do much on offense this season with just three assists in 25 outings. Two of those helpers have come in the last six games, but his bottom-six role doesn't lead to many good scoring chances. The 26-year-old could get a boost in usage if Sean Monahan (undisclosed) is forced to miss time after exiting Monday's game. Still, even more playing time is unlikely to make Evans worth a look in most fantasy formats.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Jake Evans: Logs assist in win
Evans recorded an assist and one shot on goal over 12:54 of ice time in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Blue Jackets. Evans worked the puck back to the point where Arber Xhekaj's harmless looking shot eluded multiple bodies and Joonas Korpisalo to tie the game at one goal apiece. It was the second point in 20 games for Evans, the fourth-line center who snapped a 13-game pointless streak.... See More ... See Less
