Wild's Liam Ohgren: Records two assists vs. Colorado
Ohgren recorded two assists, three shots on goal and a plus-3 rating in 9:04 of ice time during Monday's 3-1 win over the Avalanche.
Ohgren posted a minus-4 rating Saturday against Nashville in his return to NHL action, but he was much more effective Monday while getting on the scoresheet for the first time in 10 NHL appearances this year. The 20-year-old recorded his first helper on a first-period tally by Jake Middleton and also helped out on the game-winning goal by Yakov Trenin in the third period. Despite his solid performance against Colorado, it wouldn't be surprising to see Ohgren lose his spot on the NHL roster once the Wild get closer to full health.

Wild's Liam Ohgren: Up from minors
Ohgren was recalled from AHL Iowa on Thursday.
Ohgren has 12 goals and 23 points in 25 outings with Iowa in 2024-25. He also has made eight appearances with Minnesota this season, recording no points, 10 shots and eight hits. Ohgren will likely be in the lineup Saturday versus Nashville because Marcus Johansson (concussion) and Kirill Kaprizov (lower body) are unavailable.

Ohgren's promotion comes as Jakub Lauko (lower body) was designated for injured reserve. While Ohgren could be in contention to face the Canucks on Tuesday, he's far from a lock for the lineup and would need to edge out Devin Shore or Ben Jones for a spot. In his eight NHL games this year, the 20-year-old Ohgren has yet to register a point while recording 10 shots, eight hits and a minus-2 rating.

In those outings, the 20-year-old winger managed eight shots, eight hits and three blocks while averaging 9:33 of ice time. Ohgren was quiet in his debut Friday versus the Golden Knights but made up for it with a strong showing in his second game. The winger helped out on a Declan Chisholm tally in the first period, and his first NHL goal at 14:23 of the second stood as the game-winner. Ohgren is likely to close out the campaign in a middle-six role for the Wild, and he's in a good position to compete for an NHL job in training camp ahead of the 2024-25 season.
