Top Alex Iafallo News

  • Jets' Alex Iafallo: Hands out helper

Iafallo earned an assist and blocked three shots in Sunday's 7-6 win over the Avalanche in Game 1.

Iafallo had three points over the final eight games of the regular season. The winger has been limited to bottom-six minutes for a large portion of the campaign, but he has enough skill to join the top six if there's an injury to a winger. Iafallo logged 27 points over 82 contests, his lowest total since his rookie campaign in 2017-18.

  • Jets' Alex Iafallo: Two-point night in win

Iafallo had a goal and an assist in a 4-2 win over the Wild on Saturday.

Iafallo's second-period goal stood as the game-winner. He deflected a Brenden Dillon shot that got through traffic. Iaffalo snapped an eight-game point and 11-game goal drought with the performance. He has a modest 11 goals and 26 points in 77 appearances, which is decent enough for a fourth-line player, but Iafallo has just five shots in his last 10 outings, and that means he can't compete in most fantasy formats.

  • Jets' Alex Iafallo: Finds twine in win

Iafallo scored a goal in Monday's 3-0 win over the Capitals.

Iafallo gave the Jets a 2-0 lead with his second-period goal. The winger has four points over his last eight games and has managed to stay in a second-line role for much of that span, but he may lose that spot once Gabriel Vilardi (upper body) returns. Iafallo hasn't had much success this season, posting nine goals, 13 helpers, 99 shots on net, 58 blocked shots and 31 hits over 64 appearances.

  • Jets' Alex Iafallo: Gathers assist

Iafallo notched an assist and blocked two shots in Friday's 3-0 win over the Kraken.

Iafallo has shown a little more life on offense lately, posting a goal and two assists over his last six games. The 30-year-old winger has filled in on the second line while Gabriel Vilardi (upper body) has been out. Prior to his return to the top six, Iafallo had been in a fourth-line role, and he could return there when the Jets are at full strength following the trade-deadline addition of Tyler Toffoli. Iafallo has 21 points, 97 shots on net and 55 blocked shots over 62 appearances this season.

  • Jets' Alex Iafallo: Supplies helper in win

Iafallo posted an assist in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Hurricanes.

Iafallo has reached the 20-point mark in his debut campaign with the Jets, with his running total comprised of eight goals, 12 assists and a plus-5 rating through 59 games. He's starting shifts in the offensive zone 59.8 percent of the time, which is a career-high mark, but fantasy managers generally require better numbers on the power play than Iafallo's two goals and three assists.

  • Jets' Alex Iafallo: Notches seventh goal

Iafallo scored a goal on four shots in Tuesday's 4-2 win over Tampa Bay.

Iafallo put the Jets ahead 2-1 midway through the second period, firing a long rebound past Andrei Vasilevskiy. It's Iafallo's second goal in three games after scoring just once in his previous 23 contests. The 30-year-old winger now has seven goals and 17 points through 36 games this season. While he hasn't provided consistent offensive production, Iafallo continues to see top-six usage while averaging 2:45 of power-play time.

  • Jets' Alex Iafallo: Notches helper

Iafallo posted an assist in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Devils.

Iafallo helped out on Kyle Connor's opening tally midway through the second period. While the 29-year-old Iafallo has gone five games without a goal, he's made up for it with seven assists in that span. For the season, the winger is up to four goals, nine helpers, 32 shots on net and a plus-4 rating through 15 appearances. He's been a good fit on the Jets' top line, which has him tracking toward a career year.

  • Jets' Alex Iafallo: Stays hot Thursday

Iafallo collected two assists in a 6-3 win over Nashville on Thursday.

Iafallo earned his third multi-point game in the span of four contests, giving him a goal and eight points in that span. That's pushed him up to four goals and 12 points in 13 outings this season. Iafallo has never recorded more than 43 points in a single campaign, but he's serving on the top line and first power-play unit in his first year with Winnipeg, so there's a real chance the 29-year-old will end the campaign with new career highs.

  • Jets' Alex Iafallo: Four helpers in win

Iafallo picked up four assists in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Blues.

After recording just two assists through his first 11 games, Iafallo picked up helpers on each of the Jets' first four goals in Tuesday's victory. The 29-year-old winger now has six points (a goal and five assists) in his last three games, bringing him up to 10 points (four goals, six assists) through 12 contests this campaign. Iafallo has been playing alongside Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor on the top line.

  • Jets' Alex Iafallo: Pair of points in loss

Iafallo scored a power-play goal and added an assist in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Golden Knights.

Iafallo snapped a four-game point drought when he set up a Kyle Connor goal in the second period. In the third, Iafallo was fortunate to pick up a goal of his own, as a Cole Perfetti shot bounced in off of him. The 29-year-old Iafallo is up to four goals, two helpers, 26 shots on net, six blocked shots and a plus-1 rating through 10 outings. Despite some inconsistency, he remains in a great situation on the top line and first power-play unit.

  • Jets' Alex Iafallo: Manages shorthanded assist

Iafallo posted a shorthanded assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Oilers.

Iafallo earned his first assist as a Jet when he set up Vladislav Namestnikov's game-tying goal in the second period. Through five contests, Iafallo has four points, 16 shots on net and a plus-1 rating. He's primarily filled a middle-six role, though he saw a season-high 19:23 of ice time Saturday. The forward has never exceeded 43 points in a season, but he may challenge that mark if he gets consistent top-six minutes this year.

  • Jets' Alex Iafallo: Scores twice Thursday

Iafallo tallied a pair of goals in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Golden Knights.

Iafallo provided a bright spot in the Winnipeg loss Thursday, opening the scoring 1:30 into the first period before adding a second tally on a power play in the third. The 29-year-old winger now has three goals through his first four games with the Jets after tallying 14 goals and 36 points last year with Los Angeles. Iafallo should offer some scoring upside this season while logging time on the Jets' top power-play unit.

  • Jets' Alex Iafallo: Contributes goal in Jets debut

Iafallo provided a goal in Winnipeg's 5-3 loss to Calgary on Wednesday.

It was Iafallo's debut with the Jets after being dealt from LA on June 27 as part of the Pierre-Luc Dubois trade. Iafallo had 14 goals and 36 points in 59 contests with the Kings last season. His first marker with Winnipeg came at 11:19 of the second period to tie the contest at 2-2.

  • Jets' Alex Iafallo: Dealt to Winnipeg

Iafallo, Rasmus Kupari, Gabriel Vilardi and a 2024 second-round pick were traded from the Kings to the Jets in exchange for Pierre-Luc Dubois on Tuesday.

Iafallo missed 23 games at the start of the 2022-23 game due to a lower-body injury, but he was pretty productive when healthy, picking up 14 goals and 36 points, eight of which came with the man advantage, through 59 games while skating in a middle-six role with LA. Iafallo should fill a similar role at even strength while seeing regular usage as a penalty killer with Winnipeg in 2023-24, and as long as he's able to stay healthy, he should be good for 15-plus goals and 35-plus points with the Jets next season.

  • Kings' Alex Iafallo: Lights lamp in Game 5

Iafallo scored a goal on three shots and added three hits in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Oilers in Game 5.

Iafallo's first-period tally briefly cut the deficit to 2-1. The 29-year-old winger has found the back of the net in every other game of this series, picking up three goals, one assist, 10 shots on net, 13 hits, five blocked shots and a plus-3 rating over five contests. He was moved up to the top line during the game, and with Quinton Byfield struggling, it's possible Iafallo will be in that spot in Saturday's must-win Game 6.

  • Kings' Alex Iafallo: Scores goal vs. Edmonton

Iafallo found the back of the net in a 3-2 overtime win over Edmonton in Game 3 on Friday.

It was Iafallo's second goal in three playoff contests this year. His latest marker opened the scoring late in the first period. During the regular season, he supplied 14 goals and 36 points in 59 outings.

  • Kings' Alex Iafallo: Overtime hero in Game 1

Iafallo scored the game-winning power-play goal in Monday's 4-3 overtime win over the Oilers.

The Oilers took two careless penalties, one late in the third period and the other in overtime, and the Kings punished them both times. Iafallo struck 16 seconds into Vincent Desharnais' tripping minor in the extra session to complete the Kings' comeback win. While the 29-year-old Iafallo remains in a third-line role to begin the playoffs, he had a respectable 36 points over 59 regular-season contests and should also see power-play time, so he may have some appeal in fantasy postseason leagues.
