The winger has been limited to bottom-six minutes for a large portion of the campaign, but he has enough skill to join the top six if there's an injury to a winger. Iafallo logged 27 points over 82 contests, his lowest total since his rookie campaign in 2017-18.

Iafallo gave the Jets a 2-0 lead with his second-period goal. The winger has four points over his last eight games and has managed to stay in a second-line role for much of that span, but he may lose that spot once Gabriel Vilardi (upper body) returns. Iafallo hasn't had much success this season, posting nine goals, 13 helpers, 99 shots on net, 58 blocked shots and 31 hits over 64 appearances.

Iafallo has shown a little more life on offense lately, posting a goal and two assists over his last six games. Prior to his return to the top six, Iafallo had been in a fourth-line role, and he could return there when the Jets are at full strength following the trade-deadline addition of Tyler Toffoli. Iafallo earned his third multi-point game in the span of four contests, giving him a goal and eight points in that span. That's pushed him up to four goals and 12 points in 13 outings this season. Iafallo has never recorded more than 43 points in a single campaign, but he's serving on the top line and first power-play unit in his first year with Winnipeg, so there's a real chance the 29-year-old will end the campaign with new career highs.

Iafallo, Rasmus Kupari, Gabriel Vilardi and a 2024 second-round pick were traded from the Kings to the Jets in exchange for Pierre-Luc Dubois on Tuesday.
Iafallo missed 23 games at the start of the 2022-23 game due to a lower-body injury, but he was pretty productive when healthy, picking up 14 goals and 36 points, eight of which came with the man advantage, through 59 games while skating in a middle-six role with LA. Iafallo should fill a similar role at even strength while seeing regular usage as a penalty killer with Winnipeg in 2023-24, and as long as he's able to stay healthy, he should be good for 15-plus goals and 35-plus points with the Jets next season.

Kings' Alex Iafallo: Lights lamp in Game 5
Iafallo scored a goal on three shots and added three hits in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Oilers in Game 5.
Iafallo's first-period tally briefly cut the deficit to 2-1. The 29-year-old winger has found the back of the net in every other game of this series, picking up three goals, one assist, 10 shots on net, 13 hits, five blocked shots and a plus-3 rating over five contests. He was moved up to the top line during the game, and with Quinton Byfield struggling, it's possible Iafallo will be in that spot in Saturday's must-win Game 6.

The Oilers took two careless penalties, one late in the third period and the other in overtime, and the Kings punished them both times. Iafallo struck 16 seconds into Vincent Desharnais' tripping minor in the extra session to complete the Kings' comeback win. While the 29-year-old Iafallo remains in a third-line role to begin the playoffs, he had a respectable 36 points over 59 regular-season contests and should also see power-play time, so he may have some appeal in fantasy postseason leagues.
