  • Avalanche's Cale Makar: On another level

Makar recorded two assists in Tuesday's 3-2 win over Seattle. Makar registered an even-strength helper on Joel Kiviranta's second-period tally before assisting on Nathan MacKinnon's power-play goal in the same frame. In addition, Makar compiled three shots, three blocks and a plus-1 rating in a team-high 23:24 of ice time. The star blueliner extended his season-opening point streak to seven after Tuesday's two-point performance. Makar leads all NHLers with 14 points (two goals) through seven games.

  • Avalanche's Cale Makar: Three-point burst in Sunday's win

Makar scored an empty-net goal on two shots, added two assists and went plus-2 in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Sharks. Makar helped out on both of Ross Colton's tallies, including one on the power play, in the first period. In the third, Makar added an empty-netter to finish off the win. The defenseman has opened the season on a six-game point streak, racking up two goals, 10 assists, 12 shots on net, seven hits, seven blocked shots and a minus-4 rating. He's earned multiple points in four of his games and remains among the best blueliners in the league even with the Avalanche off to a lackluster start in 2024-25.

The 25-year-old Makar has a goal, eight helpers, 10 shots on net, six hits, six blocked shots and a minus-6 rating. He'll continue to see a massive role in all situations, and with the Avalanche finding more success on offense, the superstar blueliner should continue to be productive.

  • Avalanche's Cale Makar: Racks up three points Wednesday

Makar scored a goal on two shots, added two assists and went minus-2 in Wednesday's 5-3 loss to the Bruins. All three of Makar's points came on the power play in his best game of the young season. Still, he's had defensive struggles, which have been thrust into the spotlight with goaltender Alexandar Georgiev off to a horrid start. Makar has a goal, seven assists, six shots on net, four hits and a minus-6 rating through four appearances.

  • Avalanche's Cale Makar: Provides helper Monday

Makar notched an assist in Monday's 6-2 loss to the Islanders. He also registered two shots, one hit, one blocked shot and a minus-3 rating. One of the best offensive blueliners in the game, Makar has contributed directly to five of Colorado's 10 goals thus far, though that shouldn't be surprising since he's coming off a 2023-24 campaign in which he recorded a career-high 90 points, including 69 assists. Even though he's yet to find the back of the net this season, Makar remains an important player in the Avalanche's offensive scheme, and he should remain a threat from the blue line when Colorado aims to secure its first win of the season Wendesday against Boston.

  • Avalanche's Cale Makar: Dishes two assists in loss

Makar notched two assists in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Blue Jackets. Makar helped out on the Avalanche's last two goals as they tried to make a comeback effort. The defenseman has assisted on half of Colorado's eight tallies through two contests this season, including two power-play helpers. He's added two shots on net, two hits and one blocked shot. As long as his offense is steady, fantasy managers can tolerate whatever level of non-scoring production Makar manages.

  • Avalanche's Cale Makar: Pair of helpers in loss

Makar provided two assists in Wednesday's 8-4 loss to the Golden Knights. Makar saw 26:15 of ice time in Wednesday's loss, by far the most of any skater in the contest. The right-shot blueliner is coming off a career-high 90 points last season, and that number should be within reach again this year playing alongside superstars such as Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen. Makar's ceiling is sky high, and the 25-year-old, health permitting, will be in the conversation to win the Norris Trophy in 2024-25.

  • Avalanche's Cale Makar: Garners power-play helper

Makar logged a power-play assist, two shots on goal and three blocked shots in Friday's 2-1 double-overtime loss to the Stars in Game 6. Makar finished the postseason with five goals, 10 assists, 36 shots on net and 23 blocks over 11 contests. The 25-year-old defenseman also had a career-high 90 points in 77 regular-season outings. Makar's brilliance on the blue line remains elite, and he's a finalist for the Norris Trophy once again after a stellar campaign. Makar should continue to be a top-three fantasy defenseman in 2024-25 with an Avalanche team that will have its core intact despite going into the offseason with nine pending unrestricted free agents among the team's skaters.

The 25-year-old defenseman had two goals, seven assists, 16 shots on net, 12 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating over five games in the first round. During the regular season, the defenseman notched a career-high 90 points but still finished second behind Quinn Hughes for the NHL lead among blueliners. • Avalanche's Cale Makar: Logs power-play helper

Makar notched a power-play assist, five shots on goal and two blocked shots in Friday's 6-2 win over the Jets in Game 3. Makar has a goal, five assists, 11 shots on net and eight blocked shots through three playoff contests. He's on a five-game point streak as well, with nine points in that span, including four on the power play. Makar's roles on the top pairing and first power-play unit see him logging a ton of ice time, so there's no reason to think his offense will drop off much during the postseason.

  • Avalanche's Cale Makar: Leads team with three points

Makar scored a power-play goal on four shots, dished two assists and blocked two shots in Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Jets in Game 1. Makar and the Avalanche's top players were generally solid, but it wasn't enough to overcome a poor performance in goal from Alexandar Georgiev. Over the last nine games of the regular season, Makar had 12 points, and he continues to play excellently in all zones. The 25-year-old posted a career-best 90 points with 231 shots on net and 148 blocked shots over 77 outings in 2023-24.
