Sabres' John-Jason Peterka: Two helpers Friday
Peterka collected two assists in Friday's 5-4 win over the Devils. Both helpers came in the first period as the Sabres jumped out to a 3-1 lead before the 11-minute mark and chased Akira Schmid from the game. Peterka has three multi-point performances in his last seven games, and the 21-year-old has been clicking on a kid line with the 22-year-old Dylan Cozens and the 21-year-old Jack Quinn. Despite his meager totals on the season (nine goals and 29 points through 66 games), Peterka could provide fantasy rosters with a late boost for the stretch run.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' John-Jason Peterka: Scratched Friday
Peterka is a healthy scratch Friday against the Flyers, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports. Peterka has five points over his last four games and it's a bit surprising that he's being scratched. Victor Olofsson will skate on the second line in his absence. It's unclear if Peterka will be back in the lineup Sunday against Boston.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' John-Jason Peterka: Two assists in win
Peterka logged a pair of helpers in Monday's 4-3 win over the Maple Leafs. Peterka set up Jack Quinn's tally in the second period before assisting Dylan Cozens in the third. Peterka now has four assists over his last three games, though he's tallied just one goal in his last 33 contests. The 21-year-old rookie has eight goals and 17 assists through 62 games this season. While his production has been inconsistent, Peterka is worth monitoring while playing alongside Dylan Cozens and Jack Quinn on Buffalo's second line.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' John-Jason Peterka: Two-point effort in loss
Peterka recorded two assists in Thursday's 10-4 loss to the Stars. The 21-year-old gets overlooked among all the other gifted young forwards on the Sabres' roster, but Peterka has some offensive talent of his own. A second-round pick in 2020, he has a goal and four points in his last five games for Buffalo while skating in a middle-six role and seeing second-unit power-play time, and he's up to 23 points (eight goals and 15 helpers) through 60 games in his first full NHL season.... Peterka was called up by Buffalo from AHL Rochester on Thursday. Peterka spent less than a day in the minors before rejoining the Sabres. He has seven goals and 18 points in 41 contests with Buffalo while averaging 13:58 of ice time this season.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' John-Jason Peterka: Shifted down to minors
Peterka was reassigned to AHL Rochester on Thursday. Peterka figured to be the odd man out of the lineup against the Islanders on Thursday, so the Sabres processed a paper move to allow them to recall starter Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen from the minors. The 21-year-old Peterka is unlikely to actually report to AHL Rochester and should continue to practice with the Sabres instead. He could be officially added back onto the roster as early as Friday.... See More ... See Less -

He took it well and made an impact in his return to the lineup Saturday, setting up Dylan Cozens' second-period tally. Peterka has 18 points, 60 shots on net, 20 PIM and an even plus-minus rating through 39 outings as a rookie this season. He'll likely continue to see middle-six minutes, though if he slumps again, he could receive another trip to the press box.... See More ... See Less -

The German winger has four goals, eight assists, 31 shots on goal, 10 PIM and a plus-2 rating in 23 appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' John-Jason Peterka: Garners power-play helper in loss
Peterka recorded an assist in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Hurricanes. Peterka set up Rasmus Dahlin's goal in the final seconds of the game. The assist gave Peterka a modest three-game point streak -- it's the second time this year he's gotten on the scoresheet that many times in a row, with a four-game drought in between. While he's been a little streaky, the 20-year-old is fitting in well with the Sabres in a middle-six role. He has three goals, four helpers, 17 shots on net, six PIM and a plus-1 rating through 11 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' John-Jason Peterka: Offers helper
Peterka recorded an assist and added three shots on goal in Monday's 8-3 win over the Red Wings. Peterka started the year with points in four straight games, but he followed it up with a four-game drought that he snapped with a helper Monday. The ups and downs are to be expected for a 20-year-old getting his first extended look at the NHL level. The German has two goals, three assists, 16 shots on net, six PIM and a minus-1 rating in nine outings and should continue to see steady time on the third line as he adjusts.... See More ... Sabres' John-Jason Peterka: Sharp finish for first NHL goal
Peterka scored his first NHL goal Thursday in a 4-1 victory over the Senators. Peterka converted on a sweet give-and-go with Dylan Cozens, who threaded the puck under Sens defenseman Jake Sanderson's stick. It was his third NHL game. Peterka scored at a near point-per-game pace in the AHL last season and already seems to have some chemistry with Cozens and Peyton Krebs on what may potentially be one of the top kid lines in the NHL.... Sabres' John-Jason Peterka: Sees plenty of preseason action
Peterka was in the lineup for five of Buffalo's six preseason games to get more accustomed to NHL competition, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports. "This game here was a different level than earlier preseason games obviously because of their lineup," said coach Don Granato after a 7-1 loss to Pittsburgh in the Sabres' preseason finale. "And that'll be the case through the early going." Peterka is expected to stay with the Sabres going into the 2022-23 campaign after he appeared in just two NHL regular-season games last year. The 20-year-old forward racked up 28 goals and 68 points in 70 AHL contests for Rochester in 2021-22.... See More ... See Less -
