Podkolzin scored a goal, dished an assist, added two hits, blocked two shots and went plus-2 in Thursday's 5-4 overtime win over the Golden Knights in Game 2.
Podkolzin factored on the Oilers' first two goals, giving them a lead at 15:18 of the second period after setting up a Jake Walman tally a few minutes earlier. The goal was Podkolzin's first of the playoffs, but he has added five assists over eight games in a bottom-six role. Podkolzin picked up his first point over nine games in March and his first goal since Jan. 15 versus the Wild when he scored at 9:53 of the second period. During the 23-game goal drought, the winger had just four assists and a minus-8 rating while logging middle-six minutes a majority of the time. He's done alright in a limited role this season, earning seven goals, 22 points, 95 shots on net, 167 hits, 43 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating across 68 appearances. He needs four more points to match his career-best total from his rookie year in 2021-22 with the Canucks.

Podkolzin picked up an assist on Brett Kulak's first-period goal to get himself on the scoresheet, but the former Canuck has struggled to tickle the twine this year. The 23-year-old Podkolzin has just six goals on the season and none in his past 15 games, a far cry from where many thought he could be after the immense potential he displayed in his age-20 season, as he racked up 14 goals. However, with 21 points so far, Podkolzin is on pace to set a new career high in overall scoring, and his physical game has really ratcheted up. The 2019 first-round pick has logged 14 hits across the past four games, and he is on pace for over 180 for the season.
