Blackhawks' Chad Krys: Demoted to minors
Krys (shoulder) was reassigned to AHL Rockford on Monday, Mark Lazerus of The Athletic reports.
Per NHL rules, Krys will have been medically cleared before being sent down to the minors. The 23-year-old Philadelphia native has yet to make his debut in the NHL and may be hard-pressed to secure a call-up this year, too.

Blackhawks' Chad Krys: Undergoes shoulder surgery
Krys underwent successful surgery Wednesday to repair his chronically unstable right shoulder and is expected to make a full recovery in 5-7 months, Scott Powers of The Athletic reports.
Given Krys' recovery timetable, he'll likely miss the beginning of the 2020-21 campaign. The 2016 second-round pick has yet to make his NHL debut, but he's picked up 10 points while posting a minus-10 rating in 47 AHL appearances over the past two seasons.

Blackhawks' Chad Krys: Strong start to pro career
Krys picked up a pair of assists in AHL Rockford's 5-2 loss to Chicago on Sunday.
Krys has three helpers in his first three professional games. The 2016 second-round pick (46th overall) recently signed with Chicago following the completion of his junior season at Boston University. Following a dreadful freshman campaign, Krys has seen his stock rise the past two years. He has a chance to develop into an NHL regular down the road.

Blackhawks' Chad Krys: Finally finding groove at Boston University
Krys picked up three assists in Boston University's 7-0 win over the University of Maine on Saturday.
With 11 points in 14 games in 2017-18, Krys has already matched his total from his entire freshman season. It took Krys quite a while to adjust to rigors of collegiate hockey but he is now skating on BU's top defensive pair alongside Nashville's 2016 first-round pick Dante Fabbro. Krys isn't a physical player and he is going to need to continue to make smart plays with the puck, something that has been an issue in the past, if he hopes to eventually develop into an NHL regular.

Blackhawks' Chad Krys: Struggling in freshman season at Boston University
Krys scored with 25 seconds left in regulation to lead Boston University to a 3-2 win over Northeastern and a spot in the Hockey East semifinals on Saturday.
Krys has had a rough, rough freshman season for the Terriers, but perhaps the big goal on Saturday will get him trending in the right direction. Not only has he played poorly for BU, Krys was also the final cut for Team USA's World Junior team that won the gold medal despite the fact he was on the team last year. He has just five goals and 10 points in 36 games for the Terriers. All Krys (and the Blackhawks) can really do at this point is hit the reset button and hope for significant improvement next season.
