  • Chiefs' Tim Ward: Promoted to 53-man roster

    Ward was activated to the Chiefs' 53-man roster Thursday, Eric Edholm of Yahoo Sports reports. Taco Charlton faces an extended absence after fracturing his leg during Sunday's win over Carolina, creating the need for some reinforcements at defensive end. Ward has yet to make his NFL debut since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Old Dominion, but he could get his initial opportunity for playing time Nov. 22 once Kansas City returns from its Week 10 bye. Last year was a wash for Ward, as he sat out his entire rookie season while recovering from ACL surgery.

  • Chiefs' Tim Ward: Practice squad candidate

    Ward could be a candidate to land on the Chiefs' practice squad, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports. Ward missed the entire 2019 season while recovering from a torn ACL. Though he's now healthy, the Chiefs appear to view Ward more as a developmental option than as a player likely to immediately contribute in 2020.
