Cowboys' C.J. Goodwin: Returning to Dallas
The Cowboys re-signed Goodwin (pectoral) on a one-year deal Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Goodwin sustained a torn pectoral in early October that forced him to miss all but five of the Cowboys' games in 2023, but it seems as if he's now past the issue. The 34-year-old cornerback was used almost exclusively on special teams last season, playing a total of 102 snaps (86 on special teams) and recording four total tackles. Expect Goodwin to compete for a similar role in Dallas' special-teams unit this offseason.

Cowboys' C.J. Goodwin: Done for season
Goodwin (pectoral) will be out for the remainder of the season, Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Goodwin was working to return this season by rehabbing his pec injury; however, the 33-year-old will undergo surgery this week to repair it. The injury was initially believed to be season-ending, so although the news does not come as a surprise, his absence for the remainder of the 2023 campaign will still be a blow to Dallas' special teams unit.

The Cowboys placed Goodwin (pectoral) on injured reserve Monday.
Goodwin is believed to have suffered a season-ending pec injury in Week 5 against San Francisco. His loss will be felt mainly on special teams where Goodwin played 86 snaps during the first five games.

Goodwin (pectoral) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Chargers, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Goodwin suffered what may amount to be a season-ending injury in Week 5 against the 49ers. His status for Monday's game is no surprise as a result, and he'll likely be placed on injured reserve in the coming days.

Goodwin and the Cowboys agreed to a contract Friday.
Goodwin has spent the last five seasons with the Cowboys and will now be returning for a sixth. The cornerback played exclusively on the special-teams unit in 2022, recording eight tackles and forcing a fumble. He'll likely slot into a similar role once again in 2023.

Goodwin (hamstring) returned to practice this week, Jori Epstein of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Goodwin picked up a hamstring injury in mid-August, but he was able to get healthy before next week's season opener. The 31-year-old is expected to fill a vital role on special teams for the Cowboys after inking a two-year deal in March.
