Anderson was waived by the Colts on Sunday, making him available for the receiver-hungry Cowboys. As it currently stands, Anderson is still a long shot to make the 53-man roster, but an opportunity can go a long way in this league.

Anderson spent time on both the Redskins' and Colts' practice squads last season and signed a reserve/future contract with Indianapolis back in January. The 26-year-old wideout may end up on a practice squad yet again if he does not get an opportunity with another team.

Anderson was competing among quite a few candidates to provide receiver depth on the final roster, but the Texans ultimately opted to let him go. Should he clear waivers, he figures to be a prime candidate for landing on the team's practice squad.

Anderson will get more opportunities during Texans' game against the Patriots in preseason Week 2 on Saturday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Injuries to Houston's top three wideouts grant an opportunity to Anderson as well as several other lesser-known receivers in camp. Anderson, a 2014 undrafted free agent out of the University of Utah and son of former NFLer Flipper Anderson, is entering his third season in and around the NFL but has yet to play in a regular-season game. He led the wideouts in preseason Week 1 with eight targets, four catches and 80 yards against the Panthers.

Texans' Dres Anderson: Inks deal Friday
The Texans signed Anderson on Friday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
After working out for the team Friday, Anderson was granted an opportunity from the third organization of his career. He's spent time on the 49ers' and Bears' practice squads, yet the active roster eluded him on both occasions. Anderson will attempt to impress with what remains of Houston's offseason program and hope it's enough to stick around for training camp.
