Doumbouya didn't play in Thursday's 127-117 win over the Raptors 905 due to a left ankle sprain. Doumbouya drew the start and played 17 minutes during Tuesday's win over Maine, but he presumably picked up a right ankle sprain as well. Lakers' Sekou Doumbouya: Inks two-way contract
Doumbouya signed a two-way contract with the Lakers on Wednesday. Doumbouya was waived by the Lakers in mid-November, but he'll now rejoin the organization on a deal that'll give him flexibility to move between the NBA and the G League. He made two appearances with Los Angeles earlier in the year and averaged 7.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in 8.0 minutes per contest.... See More ... See Less -

Lakers' Sekou Doumbouya: May join Lakers on Friday
Doumbouya may join the Lakers for their matchup against the Cavaliers on Friday. Doumbouya started the season with the Lakers' G League affiliate, but he may be added to the NBA roster for Friday's contest, as the Lakers continue to deal with numerous injuries. Most notably, they have been without LeBron James (ankle) for their past two contests, and he is listed as questionable Friday, so if he is forced to sit out for a third straight game, then Los Angeles may turn to Doumbouya to add some depth to its depleted roster.... Lakers' Sekou Doumbouya: Off injury report
Doumbouya (illness) is off the injury report for Sunday's game against the Grizzlies. Doumbouya appeared on the Lakers' injury report as questionable with an illness ahead of Friday's game against the Suns, and he ultimately went unused in Los Angeles' 115-105 loss. The third-year forward is seemingly healthy heading into Sunday's contest, but he isn't a part of head coach Frank Vogel's rotation and is unlikely to see any run if the game is competitive.... Lakers' Sekou Doumbouya: Questionable Friday
Doumbouya is questionable versus Phoenix on Friday due to an illness, per Jovan Buha of The Athletic. Doumbouya got ill sometime between his two-way contract signing on Oct. 12 and Thursday. Lakers' Sekou Doumbouya: Signs two-way contract
The Lakers signed Doumbouya to a two-way contract Tuesday, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports. Doumbouya had a tough offseason, as he was traded twice and then waived by the Rockets. However, things are looking up for the 20-year-old now, as he has found a new home in Los Angeles and will get to learn from the likes of LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony. With the Lakers being a title contender, Doumbouya likely won't see much time at the NBA level and will have to earn his way back to NBA action through consistent play in the G League.... Sekou Doumbouya: Clears waivers
Doumboya has cleared waivers and is officially a free agent, according to Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com. This was expected to be the case, as the Rockets waived him shortly after acquiring him earlier this week. The 20-year-old averaged 5.1 points and 2.6 rebounds on 37.9 percent shooting from the field last season, but those numbers are a bit underwhelming considering he was the 19th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. It remains to be seen if he'll land on a roster with the start of the regular season just around the corner.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Sekou Doumbouya: Traded, will be waived
The Nets traded Doumbouya and a 2024 second-round pick to the Rockets on Tuesday in exchange for $110,000, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports. Houston intends to waive Doumbouya. Doumbouya is having a tough offseason; he's been traded twice and now waived. The 20-year-old averaged 5.1 points and 2.6 rebounds on 37.9 percent shooting from the field last season, but that wasn't enough for the Pistons to justify keeping the 15th overall pick in the 2019 draft around for a third year. His best shot at playing time in 2021-22 is on a team that's in a deep rebuild.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Sekou Doumbouya: Scores 11 in win
Doumbouya scored 11 points (3-3 FG, 5-5 FT) to go with four rebounds, an assist and a steal in 13 minutes during Sunday's 123-97 win over the Lakers. After spending his first two seasons in Detroit, Doumbouya was traded over the offseason and got his first action with the Nets during Sunday's preseason win. The No. 15 overall pick in the 2019 draft was able to reach double-digit scoring and also shot 5-of-5 from the free throw line -- an area of the game he has struggled with in the past. Still just 20 years old, there is time for the forward to prove he belongs in the league, but Brooklyn's talented and deep roster may make it hard for Doumbouya to find the court during the regular season....
